Becoming Human
[ ACTION : Cassiy + Tulip ]
So far, Cassidy had rather been enjoying life in his new home. He had Tulip, he wasn't (always) afraid for his life, he had comraderie with other vampires, and he could, presumably, start on the straight and narrow.
Not that he had any interest in that.
But now that the day was winding down and the night was finally beginning, Cassidy sat himself down and happily began nursing a bottle of whiskey. It didn't do much for him usually, but he liked the taste and it took the edge off. But something was strange. It settled warm in his belly, which was rather unusual for him, considering he normally drank whatever was under the kitchen sink and barely felt a thing. But nothing about the habit changed, at least until he got about halfway through the bottle, and suddenly he felt very, very lightheaded and warm.
"Tulip?" He called out, setting the bottle away from him. "Tulip, help!" Clearly, he'd been poisoned. Who would do such a thing? Why? What could he even do? ...Could he even be poisoned? Nothing he'd tried so far had worked. The room steadily went blurry, and he had trouble focusing on anything at all.
Something was very, very wrong. But... he didn't hate it? In fact, there was a distant memory of this feeling prodding at the back of his memory. This wasn't a new sensation, not by a long shot, but it was an old one. What that meant, he still wasn't sure. Tulip surely would know... right?

He lifts his head in the direction of Tulip, his limbs and head feeling like they'd been filled with sand all of a sudden. A very unusual sensation for him.
"Oh! Oohh no! Hold on!" He tries to get up, but his legs haven't quite caught up with the command, and down he goes. This, he remembers. "Shit... shit.. are you all right, Tulip? I.. I don't know if I'm poisoned but somethin' ain't right here." He does his best to crawl his way over to her, finding it much harder than it should be.

The fire is a concern. He pulls up his sleeve over his hand to help pat it out, not being gentle, but not being entirely accurate, either. "There we go. out, out. How the hell'd that happen? Are you all right? We need t'get you to hospital, then?" His eyes are completely unfocused, but he does look rather concerned. "What happened to you?"

"What? No! Of course I didn't turn you into a vampire!" Oh god had she found out he tried to back in New Orleans? "I wouldn't!" He frowns, shifting himself to sit properly and look at her. She looks to be a little pale. His frown deepens. "Do me a favour? Show me your teeth?"

"A what invasion? Like them stupid little monster things? Whoever said that's got t'be off their meds, now." Without asking, he carefully takes Tulip's hand, pulling it close to examine. Whatever he planned on doing with it is obviously a bust, considering he can't even concentrate or focus his eyes on her injury.
"Does it hurt?"
