Open video and closed action!
[ video - OTA ]
[ Bulma's at her desk in the back office of Capsule Corp, looking pretty decent for having been constantly workingtotally not just quiet because her mun is a POS 8D. And she's holding up the journal she and Goku found. ]
Hey everyone, sorry it took me so long to let you all know, but I got the book restored! Well, some of it. I scanned the restored pages for everyone that was interested. There's a couple interesting things, but I'll let you check it out to see what you think.
If anyone wants to borrow the hard copy for some reason, just let me know. I didn't plan anything big for Capsule Corp's grand opening since there was kind of a lot going on, but I'm here practically every day if anyone needs anything!
[ Action - Closed to Brief household ]
[ Bulma had kind of tossed herself into Capsule Corp once Vegeta disappeared. Sure, she was used to not having him around much, but with being in Genessia, his exit felt like it had a little more finality than it would back home. The fact that all her other friends and family remained was as much a comfort as a blow to her optimism. If the strongest and smartest from Earth couldn't get out, who could?
She'd worked through a lot of it in her own way though. And now that she's starting to feel more like her old self, she's lingering over her morning coffee just a bit longer today. Seated at the breakfast lounge, she idly stirs her drink, ready to pounce on the first passerby. ]

[ Since smoothing things over with Vegeta became a non-issue. ]
How are things in Attleton?
no subject
[He shrugs a bit.]
As boring as ever. Still working on the final touches of paperwork to get my Coliseum update ready for approval.
no subject
[ Paying a debt with food is her specialty, after all. And she can't pass up a good pizza either. ]
Oh, yeah. You're opening it up for betting on public matches, right?
no subject
Yeah, I figured the city could use a cut of what the mafia makes doing bets under the table, while making it safer for everyone involved.
[Action]
She's currently wearing a red blazer with a black blouse and matching pencil skirt.]
Good morning, mom! What do you think of my outfit? Do I look professional? Like someone whose marketing business a company would totally want to hire?
[She does a little twirl to show off the full effect.]
[Action]
[ Cue the applause as she swivels around to get a better look. She looks a little misty-eyed, and she'd probably jump up to hug Bulla if she wasn't worried she might cry on her new look. ]
You look perfect, Bulla! Professional and stylish, you're really growing up.
[ She beams, managing to blink away the emotional deluge. It's still a little weird to balance being a proud parent and dealing with the time discrepancies, but it's getting a little easier at least. ]
Do you have any big clients yet? Maybe Capsule Corp could be one of the first you put on the map.
[Action]
[She has a rough idea of how she wants the ads to look, and how she'd want the commercials presented already.]
Kaoru did just open his own clothing store, and Orihime has Cake Town, plus I want to promote friends who are running for Guardian in the next elections. ...and maybe myself. I was thinking of running for Guardian in Nova City.
[Action]
Well, if anyone can handle all of that, it's got to be one of my kids!
[ She gives a (somewhat) jokingly self-satisfied laugh. ]
I think it'd be great for the city to have you as its guardian. And you're already moving in the right direction for advertising. If you get too swamped, just let me know, okay?
[Action]
[She's genuinely proud of both of her parents and everything they're capable of doing, and though she's perfectly happy to take it easy and have fun sometimes, when she wants to do something, she wants to go all out and do it well.]
I will. It's not like I think Gale is doing a bad job as the current Guardian or anything, but...sometimes change is good, and I think a job like that needs someone who's willing to put themselves out there and help new people feel welcome.
[Action]
[So far, she barely seemed to notice Bulma's entrance.]
[Action]
How are you doing today, Mai?
[Action]
--huh?
Oh! Bulma...I'm sorry. I didn't see you there.
Sorry Zeref and I couldn't be more help. I'm glad to see you manage to restore it, though.
Thank you for sharing the pages, too.
And no worries, you and Zeref did the best you could. And I really enjoyed visiting your shop, so no big deal.
[Action, nearer to the end of breakfast?]
Pleasantly surprised to find his mother still lingering, she looked more like herself than she had in months.]
I'm not sure if I should be disturbed that you're not working, or relieved that you're taking a break, Mom.
[Grocery shopping was clearly one of his errands, although he had an extra surprise as a small caddy with a cup of coffee and a donut is placed in front of her.]
no subject
Let's go with relieved.
[ When the breakfast treat is placed before her, her smile seems more genuine and appreciative. ]
You know, if you keep spoiling me like this, I'm going to get used to it.
[ She takes a sip of the coffee and winks at her son. ]
Thank you, Trunks.
no subject
I don't view it as 'spoiling' really, so...
[There's a shrug, and he's sliding into a chair at the table too. Groceries can wait for a little bit.]
And I am relieved. It's not an easy thing to try and out-stubborn one's mother. Especially when that mother is you.
no subject
[ She sticks her tongue out at him to show she's only kidding. ]
I know though. And I know I don't have to tell you about how work helps with things, but... I'll try not to overdo it. And I'm not just saying that to get you to lower your guard.
[ She really does mean it. For now, anyway. ]
I was actually thinking about taking the day off today.
no subject
[He'll stick his tongue out at her right back, with a genuine and playful smile.]
Even...even my mother--she didn't look her age. Older slightly, but definitely not her age.
[Pausing, and while the smile had turned sad, it's still there and genuine.]
Must be those magic Brief genes or something. Whacha gonna do on your day off?
no subject
But, putting the focus back on happier things... ]
I'm not sure yet. Do you have plans? I was thinking about how a couple of kids were really insistent about their mother flying.
no subject
Besides, you don't want to be carted around by me or Goku or Dad all the time, right?
no subject
[ That came out a lot more convincingly than she thought it would. Truth be told, she kind of likes being carried around most of the time. But, she's pretty sure she has no flying ability inside her whatsoever.
And bonus, if she does somehow learn to fly, the next time she sees Vegeta, he won't be able to take off to avoid her if she becomes a magical flying wife, so... ]
Bulla seems to have a lot on her plate, but... Even if she's busy, it's not like I'm going to learn it all in one day or anything.
no subject
[Another shrug, and he's getting up to put those groceries away.]
It's up to you, Mom.
no subject
[ And good, probably for both of them. She doesn't yet realize how difficult and boring it will likely be, but for now she'll think of it as a fun and lighthearted bonding experience. Yeah.
And she'll get back to finishing off her donut. ]
I'll get ready pretty soon, and then whenever you have time we can find a good spot to work on it.
[ Since the apartment probably isn't the best place. ]
no subject
[All commented while putting away the groceries, and actually fairly relaxed for now.]
Bulla and I used the sky-gardens too, since a lot of this is less-combat and more mind-based.
no subject
[ She slides out of her chair, stretching. ]
Which friend are you training?
no subject
[Said with an easy smile. Trunks liked Martha a lot as a friend, and was honestly having fun teaching her how to sense ki.]
She also brought a friend last time so we could compare notes a bit, as they use something called "The Force".
[Action]
Hallo.
[He does seem in a lot better spirits]
[Action]
[ With a friendly smile, she steps out from behind the shop's counter, where she's been stationed today. ]
Are you here for business or the journal?
