[After Red awakens from his pod and listens to the holographic Weiss's welcome speech, he finds himself sitting on a bench near the Bay with his new device in hand, slowly browsing the Schnee Company's website at her suggestion. He tries to absorb as much information as he can, but his brain is stuck in a haze. Suddenly waking up in a new world, being told that there's no guaranteed way back and having to start a new life... Red can't decide if this is a miracle or a tragedy. At least he won't be famous here so he can walk around freely without being harrassed (hopefully), but it's been so long since he was last in society that the thought of it is still overwhelming. This anxiety combined with the fact that most of this text is too dense for him makes reading the content of the website a very slow, tedious task, but he's trying his best. Normally he wouldn't bother reading any of this at all, but for the time being, staying glued to this bench is more appealing than the alternative.

Meanwhile, the Pikachu on his shoulder is completely fascinated by the new environment and all the people walking around. Who can blame it after living in the isolated Mt. Silver for three years? If you happen to be passing by, you may catch this electric mouse staring curiously at you and will greet you with a happy little "Pika!" if you stare back.]

[Once Red has had enough of that website, he figures he might as well get some more answers from this network thing. While he's never texted in his life, he's extremely grateful for the option and is more than happy to go for it, even if it takes him a while to type out because it sure beats having to physically talk to a million strangers.]

i think i've got the basics of this place down but there are some other things i wanted to ask

i noticed that there's a pokespa/daycare center so i'm guessing that means there are pokemon trainers here? are there any pokemon centers or poke marts too? where are the best places to train high level pokemon? and to buy pokemon food?

[Eventually, Red will make his way over to Fayren. Now this is more his style, being surrounded by nature. The main city is still too populated for his liking, though, so he ventures out further into the vast forest, feeling completely at ease by the time he gets there. Perfect.

The possibility of getting attacked by hostile magical creatures doesn't scare him at all considering he's survived thousands of wild Pokémon encounters, including a few legendaries. As long as he has his Pokémon and supplies with him, there's no reason to be afraid of such a thing, so he'll continue making his way deeper and deeper in until he eventually reaches the mountains and explore there too. Feel free to run into him at any point along the way, try to convince him to turn back or at the very least not wander around out here by himself.]

[Out of all people Red's Pikachu saw, it greeted the Pokemon Professor from Kalos as he turned around and saw the Mouse Pokemon. Thankfully, the Halloween curse wore off a few days ago, so he was able to approach it without letting it see his antlers.]

Oh, why hello there.

[As he attempts to pet the Electric-type, he began to wonder. What if this was Ash's Pikachu? The last time he saw Ash with his Pokemon was only his Greninja. He just has to check just in case.]

I never expect that there's another Pikachu outside the phenomenon. Where is your trainer?

[Red chimes in as he lifts his head up to look at the man petting his Pikachu nearby. It confirms this with a nod and a "Pikapika!" Although he had appeared to be completely focused on his screen, he did catch what the man was saying, and he can't help but wonder...]

...What phenomenon?

[When Red approaches the professor, he looked up and stood up as he saw the Mouse Pokemon and recognized the young man. From appearance alone, he looked like Ash Ketchum. Yet he was much older than him.]

Oh, you must be new in Genessia. In this world, there are strange phenomena here. Normally, wild Pokemon don't exist here. But every year, Pokemon started to appear as well a Pokemon Center right here near the Bay.

[Every year, huh? And then they just disappear again after a certain amount of time? How bizarre. He supposes anything goes in this strange world. He looks thoughtful for a moment.]

Have there ever been any Pokémon not native to the Kanto or Johto regions?

[Assuming those names even mean anything to this guy.]

Why yes it is. Most of the other regions such as Hoenn, Unova, Sinnoh, and Kalos are found here. There are also Pokemon that came from the Alola region as well with their Alolan counterparts.

[At least he can tell he's from his world.]

I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Augustine Sycamore, I'm the Pokemon Professor from the Kalos region. Though right now, you could say I'm the only Pokemon Professor in Genessia so far.

[Wow, what a coincidence that the first person he met in this world is a Pokémon Professor. And he'll be able to see and catch new Pokémon here when they show up again? Perhaps being in this world really isn't such a bad thing after all.]

[Huh. A silent-type not like Ash. Regardless, he is happy to meet another trainer for a while now.]

Red head tilts slightly to the side out of curiosity. Well, if his nearly full yet outdated PokéDex would be useful to someone here, he might be willing to lend them a hand.]

Who?

A special Rotom that possesses a unique Pokedex. It calls itself "Rotom Pokedex" and it's currently living with his trainer at Everglade.

Maybe it may help you with your Pokedex.

[A... Rotom? He assumes that's a Pokémon from the way Sycamore is describing it. Interesting.]

Oh yeah. I know you already read the pamplet and the hologram message, but I suggest you should get a job to get a permanent residence in either Genessia or one of the cities. You should try visiting the Employment Agency if you have some time.

[Red's expression darkens a bit. A job... Winning Pokémon battles and selling random junk he finds during his travels isn't going to cut it here, is it? He can't even imagine himself having a real job. He never had any interest in one, and besides, Pokémon battling is the only thing he's really good at.]

...Yeah. I'll do that.

[Spoilers: he won't.]

Why yes. While most residents originally in other worlds without Pokemon, they owned several Pokemon in here. As Professor Sycamore explained to me, there are some strange phenomena that make Pokemon appear temporarily.

As for some training areas, the only place I know is that there is a Pokemon gym in Nova City. You can also a place called Holodeck'd to train as well. As for Pokemon food, I think there are some of them in some general stores. Though I didn't have the time to check them out.

[Pika? Well that's certainly unlike any sound the Cheshire Cat has ever heard a mouse make! Although, he supposes, all the while grinning back and lifting a tail to tip his ears in greeting, this is also his first time seeing such a brightly coloured mouse.]

Moo!

[Might as well keep the inconsistencies consistent, right?]

[The mooing cat manages to surprise both Pikachu and its trainer. That certainly doesn't sound like a Miltank... Red lifts his head up to find the source of the noise and can only stare in shock at what he sees. A large striped cat... lifting its ears off its head like a hat? What???

His Pikachu, however, gets over its surprise pretty quickly and gives the cat an enthusiastic "Pi-Pikachu!" as it waves a tiny paw at him.]

Pi-ka-chu?!

[Each syllable punctuated by the separation of Cheshire's ears from his head from the rest of his body. What an adorable little mouse!

He chuckles merrily, waving a fluffy striped tail back with equal amounts of enthusiasm, and makes a graceful leap from his own bench to join the newcomers on theirs. Hopefully this trainer-Pokémon duo are ok with being sniffed by a strange cat.]

[What a bizarre creature. It doesn't seem to be hostile, at least, so Red and Pikachu don't mind him being close to them as long as he remains friendly. Pikachu simply observes the cat with a curious expression while Red slowly lifts a hand up and moves it towards his back as non-threateningly as possible, treating Cheshire to some soothing pets if he'll allow Red's hand to make contact.]

[Oh yes please! Pets are his absolute favourite alongside alongside chin rubs and ear scratches.

Mischievous eyes slide shut in contentment, followed moments later by a deep rumbling purr as Red's palms slide over his fluff. He remains silent for a good minute, which anyone who actually knows the Cheshire Cat would consider an impressive amount of time. But eventually the feline rolls over onto his side, cracks open an eye, and mumbles:]

I do like your hat.

[The silent pets continue until Cheshire suddenly speaks up, causing Red to freeze up from surprise. Pikachu cocks its head to the side slightly and lets out a bewildered "Pika?!" So the cat really can talk? He thought maybe he just imitated animal noises. Well then.]

...Um... thanks.

Pika!

[Not that he has the faintest idea what "Pika" means. But imitating animal noises is indeed one of the many things a Cheshire Cat does.]

[She normally comes out this way to give her Pokémon some fresh air, and she has been long overdue in doing so for various reasons. The last few weeks have been hard on her, so it is doing wonders for her mood to be out again.

Anastasia had with her a Glaceon and a Sylveon, the patter of their little paws trailed by the small claps of her shoes. She doesn't notice him at first until her Sylveon breaks from the pack at a run to the Pikachu, barking at the yellow mouse with a friendly "Sylvie! Syl~veon!" The young lady calls the Fairy-type back, which it uses a ribbon-like feeler to wave good-bye and prance back to its owner's side.

Anastasia glances to and bows slightly to the Pikachu and its apparent owner.]

I apologize. It has been awhile since Sylvie has seen another Pokémon.

[Alerted by the sound of running feet quickly approaching him, Red's head snaps in the Sylveon's direction, thinking that he's about to be attacked. That's usually what that means whenever he would hear footsteps like those, but thankfully he realizes that isn't the case before he can reflexively fire off an attack order to Pikachu -- no, it looks like it just wants to say hi. Phew.

Showing no signs of the mini heart attack he just suffered, Red gazes calmly yet curiously at the enthusiastic Sylveon as his Pikachu happily waves back at it. Sylveon, huh? That has to be a Pokémon, right? Perhaps another evolution of Eevee? It's beautiful...

Part of his suspicions are confirmed by its young Trainer's response. Nice -- he's been wanting to see some new Pokémon ever since he found out that they were here. Too bad he can't register any in his super outdated PokéDex.]

It's fine.

[His gaze then wanders over to the quiet Glaceon. Another one he hasn't seen before.]

Who's the blue one?

[Sylveon seems pleased they get to stay awhile longer, trying to be silly by going behind the Glaceon and giving it bunny ears with its feelers. The Fresh Snow Pokemon doesn't react.l, being used to the Fairy-type's shenanigans.]

This is Gracia, my Glaceon. Say hi, Gracie.

[The Glaceon is quite stoic, or maybe even shy? It was hesitant to speak up with a friendly "Glaay~"]

Though I may be mistaken, but is your friend a Pikachu? It looks like a doll I have, called a Surfing Pikachu.

[Pikachu covers its mouth as it giggles at Sylvie's antics, finding Gracia's non-reaction to it all especially funny. Red doesn't even crack a smile, but he does silently appreciate the dynamic that they have together.]

That's right.

[As if to emphasize this, Pikachu lets out a cheerful "Pi~ka~chu!" as it waves at both Gracie and its Trainer.]

Your Sylveon and Glaceon... Did they both evolve from Eevee?

I've never seen a Pikachu in person before. It's adorable~

[Sylveon seems content with choosing to settle down, now. It knows when it's getting to that line between fun and annoying. It sits beside Glaceon, putting a ribbon-like feeler across the shoulders of the Ice-type in small half-embrace.]

They did. At least, I know Gracia did. I caught Sylvia as she is, but I'm sure she did.

Do you have other Pokémon? If so, may I see them? I'll gladly do the same.
