November Catch-All
1: Cloak and Dagger: New Employee Orientation
[In the couple months since Soma inherited the magic shop, it's gone through a few changes. Biggest among them, perhaps, is the array of magic available, now including necromancy and other 'dark' arts. Admittedly most of the texts on offer are of a 'What NOT to Do' bent, but still. Acknowledging that those other branches exist is a huge step forward.
The other big change is the personnel. Entirely new to the business are Grima, Tina Goldstein, and Anastasia. All they need now is a scribe, and the shop will be at full operating capacity.
Of course, working in a magic shop is... not really something you just walk into and start doing. Hence this little meeting. Direct your questions and suggestions to the white-haired dhampir, folks.]
2: Out and About in the World
[Over the coming weeks Soma can be seen at random times out and about in Everglade, Nova City, and Fayren, doing random things in random places. Feel free to randomly bump into him!]
3: Moving Day
[At the first of the month, following his successful acquisition of the lease on Satsuki's old apartment, Soma carries his few belongings from the haunted apartment complex in Everglade to his new home in Heaven's Court Apartments. Feel free to meet him along the way - for someone who's moving from one place to another, he has a shockingly small amount of luggage.]
4: Holodeck'd
[With Marc gone, Soma continues his capoeira training on his own. With the assistance of Holodeck'd's simulations, he's steadily adding to his unarmed combat repetoire, and anyone who's studied the arts will notice he's learning at a shocking speed. Almost like he used to know some of this stuff, and is just brushing up...]
5: Castlevania Shenanigans
[With Lisa back, plus Alucard and Trevor showing up, things are likely to get very strange around the castle. Soma will be spending some time there, just hanging out with his adoptive family.]
6: Surprise me
[Just what the label says!]

The better my defense against drowning. Please, pursue that line.
[He spun on his heels, saw them, and gathered an armful.]
Let's hope so. Are these potent enough to restore lost limbs, or shall I have to mind my head?
[He sounds like he's joking, but decapitation is a serious concern. As he moves to purchase, he considers what else...]
Anything that might thwart spatial intruders? You've probably seen how some, on the network, can simply appear to whoever else's on the other line. I'd hate to have my privacy so breached.
no subject
Restoring lost limbs is something you need a miracle worker for. These will heal near-fatal wounds, but they won't reattach or regrow lost limbs. So yeah - keeping your head on your shoulders is still a priority.
[Now that's an oddly specific request.] Nothing that doesn't require being behind your own threshold. There's a reason for that legend.
no subject
Alas, alack, alackaday; not all can be bought.
[Or maybe he just needs to find the right seller...]
Threshold? What legend is that, pray tel?
no subject
The threshold represents the sanctity of the home. To some creatures, it is inviolable - others, it merely weakens. Without a threshold, no protection can be anything but temporary - a circle drawn in the sand. An apartment isn't great for it - you really need a home to get a powerful threshold, and it's not a thing that happens overnight. Closest you're going to get there is going to be a latticework of spells and enchantments, one that you have to rebuild every single day when the sunrise breaks it. There is no free lunch, even in magic.

[;D
But for that joke, his mien dims. He could never consider Genessia, or any part of it, home. It's too false for that. There's the bag, but...
He shook his head. No good. He'd have to find another way to stop intruders before they begin. What else...]
Have you got any way to, say, reproduce material, like from a cutting? I've a weapon with rare ammunition, and I worry for running out.
[And a life-fiber uniform he may want to increase...]
no subject
[Sorry Ted, your joke was lost on him.]
That depends on the material. Things that exist naturally can usually be reproduced pretty easily. Things that don't... not so much. I have a rifle that fires a positron beam, for example. Positrons, being the antimatter form of electrons, don't exist in nature. If I were reliant on external ammunition, I would be hard pressed to keep it fed.

[He almost produces the gunblade whose ammunition he'd fain supply, only to hesitate and withdraw when his hand's halfway in the satchel.]
Huh! That weapon must be brilliant.
[Must be nice to focus it in a beam instead of just nuking everything in the immediate radius. He's a little jelly. Pay no attention to his amiable reaction. Just another neat-o part of Genessia, nothing to see here.]
Well, do you have a catalog? Perusing that might be more convenient than twenty questions.
[His Christmas wishlist will never be easier.]
no subject
[He plops a small booklet on the counter, taken from a box of identical ones.] That's a curated list of what we carry in normal stock. It should be enough to give you an idea what our expanded stock is like, as well.
no subject
I'll bet.
[He snatches the booklet with some greed. Covetousness is a sin, but boy will he have some fun poring over this book in particular.]
It's well appreciated. Thank you very much; good evening.
[But if nothing else he has healing potions, and isn't keeping people from dying so much better than the other thing?]
