[ Ever since the party, Weiss has been in a surprisingly pleasant mood despite certain circumstances. The party had, frankly, been exhausting. But fun! However, it wasn't what had put her in such a good mood for the week following it. What had was the fact that she was excited for Friday and her date with the guy who she kind of thought was kind of cute and totally had managed to escape any prying eyes (she hoped) to go meet him where they'd agreed.

Except, you know, she may have come a bit early. And possibly stood out waiting a little early in a dress in white instead of cream and a pair of fashionable boots (just in case she had to move-- the heels are nothing to her). Beneath the dress was a red petticoat-- just enough to give the dress a little oomph and protect her in case she needed to do any flips for whatever reason. Though her Genessia pendant was in a little purse (for whenever she needed it), she had a small necklace around her neck, matching the accent from her petticoat. Her usual hair crown accessory was where it always was, her hair tied back in her regular style.

Weiss opened her bag as she took her scroll out to check what time it was to see how much longer she would be waiting. She absolutely wasn't going to let Zuko be the one waiting on her. That much she had decided beforehand, but.. Well, she was getting impatient now, even if it was completely her fault. ]

[ She can't even deny that she's a little smug that he's getting worked up over her, even if it's this early. Just a little smug.

Weiss drinks a sip of water. Even if she wants more than a sip, she's not going to do anything unladylike. ]

Well, there is an archway to the City of Vale. I should warn you though: the technology is a little more similar to Nova City, even if the archway is in Fayren. [ That was mostly because of the magic and Grimm, if you went with just what matched the archway. ] Unless you had something planned after lunch, we could head down there.

[banishment]

[ it is early, but when zuko sets his mind on something, he jumps into it hard and fast. that includes deciding he like-likes someone. especially when it's a girl he liked all on his own, who wasn't a girl he was allowed to like. someone appropriate for someone like him to like, because of his titles and ties. he still felt bad about mai, but he liked weiss.

he really liked weiss. ]

I'd like that. I'm okay with leaving the technology to you.

[whiteas]

[ Weiss liked him too, but she was a little more cautious. It wasn't as though she'd really forced herself to fit within her standing for who she wanted to date since her preference had always been to just tell everyone no. Nearly every time it was just about her money, and she'd learned that a while ago. So even if she did like someone, she was a little cautious. ]

You don't get motion sickness, do you?

[ She's so going to see if she can take him up on an airship. ]

[banishment]

Uh-uh. [ he shook his head, allowing the waiter to take his plate from him. ] No.

[whiteas]

Do you have airships in your world? It would probably be the easiest way to see everything, and if you haven't been on one they can be fairly enjoyable. If not, the Cross Continental Transmit Tower is fairly impressive.

[ Weiss is fairly certain that Zuko hasn't seen a skyscraper until he's seen the CTT. Weiss allows the waiter to take hers as well, lightly dabbing her lips with her napkin and thanking the waiter. ]

[ zuko thanks the waiter as well, doing so deliberately in the language the menu's written on. (he figured out a few weeks ago that he could still sound like he was speaking in his native language instead of the neutral tongue they all somehow knew upon coming here that made everyone sound like they were speaking something they understood if he really concentrated.) ]

Gǎnxiè nín měihǎo de yī cān. Gěi wǒmen zuì hǎo de chúshī.

[ he's speaking in whatever that neutral, genessian language is when he turns back to weiss. ] We do, believe it or not. I actually know how to fly them, but I doubt yours run on steam and firebending.

[whiteas]

[ Weiss listened quietly to what he said, even if she had no idea what it meant. She could infer that some part of it was probably an expression of gratitude, though it felt a little long for that. She waited until the waiter was gone before asking. ] What did that mean?

[ She nods in agreement with Zuko's statement. ]

Ours run using Dust, as you probably expect by now.

[ Everything is Dust. ]

[ oh good, that worked. ] I thanked him for the meal and asked him to give our regards to the chef.

[ he nods. ]

Dust seems to be like bending for your world. I sort of figured it would.

[whiteas]

Oh. Thank you for doing that.

[ She thinks. She doesn't quite get why it might be important to thank him in his own language, but she's got a lot to learn still. ]

It's probably similar in that aspect, though my family's company has refined Dust usage a lot. There were others before us, but since my grandfather built the company it's become much more accessible for everyone and has made possible all sorts of advances. [ She pauses for a brief moment. ] I have pamphlets if you're interested in learning more about Dust.

[ Insulting pamphlets, but she doesn't particularly care. ]

Do you want to go to the tower then? We probably won't actually be able to use it since the archway isn't connected to the rest of Vale, but it's still an impressive sight.

[banishment]

[ zuko paid the waiter when he returned, telling the man to keep the change in chinese again. focusing on forcefully speaking in his native tongue was hard, but worth it for the sake of showing off. speaking of— ]

Unless those pamphlets are written in that, [ he points to the chalkboard menu bolted to the wall as he rises from his seat ] I doubt I'd be able to read it. [ or whatever common language they all spoke and read here in genessia. he wasn't questioning how that worked. some things were best left alone.

coming around to her side of the booth, zuko held out a hand. ] Ready to go? I want to see this city of yours.

[whiteas]

[ Weiss picks up her little purse and stands up, pushing her chair in once she's out of the way. ]

I guess not. I don't know if you would be able to use it anyway, since most of the uses beyond throwing and igniting involve igniting them with Aura.

[ Weiss took his hand when he offered it, letting a little smile onto her lips, then stepping ahead to lead the way out. ] Follow me.

[banishment]

[ he doesn't say anything, just grins goofily at the back of her head while trailing after her, allowing her to lead him out of the restaurant and in the direction of the gate. ]

[whiteas]

[ Weiss knew she probably shouldn't show off. She shouldn't, but they were going to be walking quite some time if she didn't and she wanted to show off to Zuko. Especially after he was pulling that language stuff, and the last time she had the chance, she couldn't really because they would've wrecked the party. ]

How well do you think you can hold on?

[banishment]

Pretty well. Why?

[ he's been through some rough rides, almost fallen off the edge of the western air temple a few times. he likes to think he's got a good grip. ]

[whiteas]

Because I can get us both there much more quickly, but if I drop you, you're probably going to get hurt.

[ Still, she can do glyphs without Dust so she's tempted to just use a whole series of them to get them across the town to the correct archway more quickly. ]

[banishment]

You won't drop me, and if you did, I'm pretty good at landing on my feet.

[ and he could probably catch himself with his bending, somehow. the phrase "jet propulsion" will come to mind — if he knew what a jet was. ]

What do you need me to do?

[whiteas]

Here, grab onto my other arm.

[ Weiss's primary hand was her left, even if she was capable with both. It meant that she had grabbed Zuko with her right reflexively so that she could keep her best arm free-- but because her left hand was usually for her sword, she favored her right for glyphs. Weiss held out the small purse that she had with her to him. ]

And carry my purse.

[banishment]

Okay. [ he doesn't have an aversion to holding a woman's things for her like some do. on the contrary, doing so is the honorable thing to do. he takes it without question or protest, looping it around an arm and wrapping both of his around the one of hers. ]

All right. I'm ready.

[whiteas]

[ Weiss smiles, then kneels slowly so that he'll kneel with her. She'll wait for him, because they need to both be able to jump at the same time or he's going to feel a lot more like he's falling than she is. ]

On the count of three, jump.

[ Weiss swipes her free hand in a practiced motion until one of the glyphs appears beneath them. Usually she uses her sword to guide them, but she doesn't have that with her now. ]

1, 2, 3! [ And she's jumping, hopefully he is too. ]

[ zuko does as he's told, jumping on the count of three. he holds tight to both her and her purse, catching on quickly to the proper position his body needs to be in in order to make this easier for her. were he not afraid talking would break her concentration, he would've told her how impressive this was, even if he wasn't the biggest fan of flying. (but that was likely just his firebender's aversion to such vast expanses of nothing but air.) ]

[whiteas]

[ Glyphs are tiring, yes, but her concentration wasn't something that Zuko needed to worry about. Weiss had plenty of practice using glyphs, dust, a sword, and doing it with a team-- in heels. She'd probably fall asleep pretty easily tonight, though, but she was definitely working on building her stamina more than it used to be too. This was just good practice, beyond making it so they could get there quicker. The hardest part was balance right now, though, since she'd usually use mid-air flips to keep her center where she wanted it. That was something she couldn't do with Zuko attached to her, plus Zuko's weight made her have to use the glyph a second time to get up to the height that she wanted properly. Once they were there, she moved her hand again and a series of glyphs appeared in sequence. It looked as though there were two overlapped too-- both white and black. ]

Run, and don't let go!

[ With that, Weiss broke into a run, making sure to hold onto Zuko. The glyphs would fall behind them so that Weiss could create more ahead of them, so it was necessary that they kept moving. It was a combination of Air Step glyphs and the glyphs that she used to combat gravity (like when a certain partner of hers had to run vertically up a cliff). Even running across it probably felt a little more like jumping combined with being pulled down at the same time. Even if it was tiring to use it like this and probably a little more dangerous than she should be subjecting anyone to, it would mean they could skip all of the street corners, turns, and traffic by just going above the buildings. ]

[ little known fact about zuko: while he was capable of piloting war balloons and sitting calmly atop appa while he soared through the sky, he didn't actually like being up high. or flying. which is why he avoided looking down as he kept up with her pace, running swiftly and steadily on the glyph footholds she provided them with. ]

[ Weiss honestly didn't think too much of it. So often they had to fight things that were much larger than they were that height just seemed like a natural advantage. It wasn't that she found it fun or that she liked it, it was just useful and effective. Useful and effective were things she needed. There wasn't any real change from Weiss's normal expressions when she was up here versus when she was down there, except the occasional glance to Zuko to make sure he was either doing okay or being impressed. (Useful in a different way than normal if she was succeeding at that.)

The closer they get, the lower the glyphs start appearing and it's clear that it's only one at that point as they make their gradual descent. ]

How is it?

Surprisingly steady. [ not that he doubted anything she cast wouldn't be steady, but he hadn't imaged how steady it would be. it was like walking on land that moved upwards, then down with your feet. about the only thing he could compare it to was a waterbender's ability to shape the ice, as well as the earthbenders and their tendency to raise the ground to a designed height — but even they couldn't do what weiss just did. ]

I think I've officially just seen, as well as experienced, something that not even a fully realized Avatar could do.

[ why yes, he was indeed impressed. ]

[whiteas]

They have to be in the middle of a battle.

[ Otherwise she would've died a hundred times over already just from sheer falling or getting thrown into pillars or mountainsides or walls. Still, at the second comment, she seems to puff her chest out a little. ]

Lucky you then~ --We're jumping now.

[ She says it since they're about 8 feet above the ground and right in front of the archway, and Weiss just drops the last glyph so they can land. She's assuming that should be low enough for Zuko to drop without injury. Her knees only barely bend for the impact upon hitting the ground, since she's used to dropping from much higher places, then she turns her head to look at Zuko fully to make sure he's landed okay. ]
