(Lightning is looking more like a guard or a soldier. Her small break as a civilian had been nice, but she doesn't trust this world enough to let her skills grow rusty. Unfortunately the enhancements she had been given by the goddess Etro are gone, so she is having to move and think like a full fledged human again.

Even so, her name - nickname, really - makes sense. She is damn quick on her feet, striking targets with enough force to knock opponents larger than herself off their feet. When she reaches the end of the course, she spins and kicks the head off of the last target.

Thankfully the dummies are just that: dummies. She comes to a stop against a wall, breathing hard.)

This sword isn't bad. (She straightens and flicks her pink hair out of her eyes.) Now if I can attach a gun to it, it will be perfect.

Do you have gun-blades in your world? I had one...it was...centuries ago...

I should have kept it strapped to my back. (Not that it would have traveled with her when she had been a soul, but... Damn. She misses that weapon now.)

...I didn't mean to sound... (Curt. Lightning - no Claire - is rather shy by nature.) I don't mind you watching. I was a guard and then I was a knight... I've had a lot of experience fighting.

So you really have a lot of experience in this... I know someone who's really good with swords too, but I can't really say I know a thing or two myself.

I wouldn't mind having a sparring partner if they are available. (And then...softer...) If you would like to learn, I don't mind teaching you some moves either.

[ She flushes a little more, staring down at her lap. ]

O-oh um. I'm not sure if I'd be any good at it, but if you're looking for a nice spar, his name is Nero. I think you might enjoy sparring with him.

I suppose you do have a point there... [ She laughs softly. ] My name is Kyrie... it's a pleasure to meet you Miss knight.

My name is...Lightning. (Memories are awoken with the mere word and she suppresses them under invisible armor.)

Lightning? That will definitely be a name that I'll easily remember. It sounds so exciting..!

That wasn't the idea behind it. (She doesn't feel very exciting, yet her life thus far has been thrilling to say the least.) I chose it because lightning flashes bright and only destroys.

So a name meant more to strike fear? I think I can believe half of it, but Im not so sure you only destroy.

It was more how I felt about myself...back then. I didn't feel like I could protect anyone and I was the sole guardian of my sister.

[ There was a softer smile on her face when she heard that. ]

Ah... so you must be the older sibling trying to handle everything.

[ She knew that all to well, not because she was the older sibling, but because she was instead the younger sibling being raised by her older brother. She fidgeted a little with her hands but she hoped Lightning didn't notice.]

I am. We lost our parents unexpectedly and Serah is the only family I have left.

(So she had gotten a job and buckled down to become an adult a tad early. To little effect. Serah was still caught up in immense danger for centuries with Lightning hot on her tail, trying to save her and most of the time, failing.)

I hope the two of you... will never have to part for too long. It's not... an easy thing to go through.

I've been away from her more than I've been with her. I expected that to change, but then I was taken from her again.

Reload, obviously. I get what you're saying, I have a knife as a back up but I wouldn't want it connected. Terrible with swords.
