[Action]
Adam did not move when he woke up. Before he opened his eyes he knew that there was something different about the area around him. When he did the first thing he saw was the curved metal wall surrounding him. This was alarming on its own he still did not move. He then became aware of some things laid on his chest. Cautiously he lifted a hand and tested the curved metal wall. He saw that it opened without difficulty. Slowly swinging his feet over Adam sat up and looked around. This was most definitely not anywhere he recognized. He gathered the things that had been sitting on his chest, figuring they would probably be useful, and put his feet down. As he did water soaked into his shoes making his socks squish. Adam made a face at the unpleasant sensation. Everything he had woken up with in hand, Adam quietly made to way out of The Bay.

[ Though he has never owned one, Adam knows how to use a phone. When the video starts it is a brown-haired teenage boy looking pensively at the camera. ]
Hello? I'm Adam Parrish an' I'm not real sure what's goin' on.
[ Distress has allowed his rural Virginia accent to show through. ]
I'm gettin' the "how" on folks showin' up here, but what I can't figure is the "why"? I mean there's gotta be an over-arching purpose, folks don't just get kidnapped for no reason.
[ His lips thin and he sighs then. While this is probably a question that gets asked a lot, Adam wants to hear the answers for himself. He still looks worried and wary. ]
So how big is this place? An' what does "the best god" mean? Are there a lot of 'em here?
[ He's all questions at the moment, but he has worked a few things out for himself. Right now he leaves it there, turning polite, instead. ]
Thank you to anybody that does reply. I will appreciate it.

[He's a kid, Ted, slow down.]
Er, pardon. Good morning, I'm Ted. There is a purpose that we've heard, and "kidnapping" has yet to be proved to any rigorous satisfaction.
This place is...well, I don't know exact measurements. I'd say about seven-hundred times bigger than the cave you came from now. I suppose by "best god" they'd mean the supreme deity, of which there is only ever one.
[A gut feeling tells him this may not be as helpful as he tried.]
Video
[ ...yeah that didn't really help. Thanks for trying though. ]
An' that hologram was talkin' about people already here, which is why I ask.
Re: Video
Aheh, well the Omnipotence is omnipresent. Of course He's here. He's everywhere, though philosophically it's improper to refer to Him as a person.
[All the help~]
Video
It's wrapped up with the 'why' since this sorta magic is usually a means to an end. I can't speculate too much without knowing the 'why'. But it would require transport across what looks to be the space-time continuum which in itself would cost a lot of energy. Then some way to reconstitute a person because that would be the only way a human could travel outside of the solar system. I'm assuming a lot since I hafta, but it really looks like this is some sorta weird mix of magic an' science.
[ Adam is pretty sure they're talking about two different things. So he's just...not going to comment. ]
Re: Video
Mm, yes, that would certainly match up. Bodily reconstitution is well within Genessia' means, and there's evidence our cells have been altered. So magic is inextricably bound with motive, eh? Well, what would you make of it if their motive was seeking a demonstration of life fully lived?
Video
Kidnappin' people so that they...live life?
Re: Video
Oh, and "kidnapping", however emotionally satisfying, has yet to be proven. I wouldn't take the naked assertions of the hologram too seriously.
Video
...that still makes no sense. What point is there ta takin' people so they 'demonstrate' livin' life?
Re: Video
[He has an alternative theory, but has just enough tact not to redpill people too soon.]
Video
Okay then terminology aside, there's still no sense in people going from the life they had to another life just ta 'demonstrate' livin'.
Re: Video
Depends on where we're from and where we're meant to go. I wouldn't put too much stock in your previous life; Lord knows those who cling to the past get left behind, one way or another. For all we know, it could be largely fictitious.
[And there goes the subtlety.]
Anyway, you're doing all right otherwise? Need help with anything?
Video
No. I'm okay.
Re: Video
All right, let me know should fortune turn sour. Until then, go under the Mercy.

...then I gotta wonder what else shows up. Like the gods that like messin' with people.
[He has yet to hear a good story about the god of thunder, okay.]
But that Weiss lady made it sound like even the gods can't do much here.
Naw she said there were consequences. I guess that might give 'em pause but I'm thinkin' about the damage some can do without anybody knowin'.
[ 'The devil made me do it' is not a reason or excuse. But what about a god that really can mess with minds? It's a chilling thought. ]
