[Lan fan comes on the screen looking determined--although possibly a bit perturbed as well (is this thing really working?)]
First and foremost, I am in search of an automail engineer. Does this... "Genessia" even have automail?
[From the technology she's seen it would certainly suggest it--or at least something equivalent.]
[She opens her mouth to say something else--but before she is able to a very loud and long sound is heard--unmistakably her stomach growling. Her eyes go wide for a moment before she ducks her head and averts her eyes to the side, face turning beat red.]
And where is a cheap place to get food...?
[Action//Genessia]
From what she gathered in the information available she felt lucky that she had at least arrived in this place clothed. If the gods or whatever it was that controlled this place had plucked her up a day sooner she would have been wandering around in nothing but her pants and bandages. The clothing she was wearing was not comfortable for her, at least not out in the open outside of the Yao palace. She was dressed in a simple black changpao and a trench coat, the left sleeve flapping at her side. Really the issue was her face being completely exposed. She was so used to being masked that being laid open like this was unnerving. The one benefit with her current garb was the fact that she didn't draw attention to herself.
With some effort she had talked herself out of any acrobatics to keep to the shadows or the roofs and out of sight--of course the buildings she came upon were either too spread out or too tall for that to really work anyway--and she really wasn't recovered yet. Doctor Knox had said a minimum of four to eight weeks for the amputation to fully heal. It hadn't even been a complete week yet. She probably shouldn't have been walking around as she was, but her paranoia as a retainer despite not having her charge wouldn't let her rest until she'd explored at least the immediate area around the communal space she was being provided with.
Still, she was weak and several times she felt herself swooning a bit from light-headedness and pain, stumbling only to catch herself on the nearest upright surface.

[He stares quietly as she seems to mumble.]
What did you say? My apologies, but might you repeat that more loudly, miss?
video
[She overcomes her embarrassment for the moment to focus on the device.]
Winry? Winry Rockbell?
[As for the other question... yep, the blush is back, but she doesn't mumble this time.]
I asked where I can find cheap food...
[Because she eats a lot m'kay?]

[He finally catches on when she repeats the question. Now feeling guilty for making her repeat herself, Eliot takes a stance as if he owes her:]
Yes, I know a few places. Would you like for me to show you around, miss? Ah, and my manners! I’m Eliot Durant~.

or not jokinglyproposed to in the Elric's hotel room before... everything went to hell.] Yes, please.[And then she pauses. Ah... names... and revealing locations... Hnnnnngh...]
...
Can you just direct me there?
[She's ahead of her time--don't go meet strangers from the internet!!!]
no subject
At least he's accommodating.]
Of course. I can send you some GPS coordinates, if you'd like.
no subject
Yes, thank you.
[She has to drive down the thought that the coordinates are a trap. THIS ISN'T XING. EVERYTHING IS NOT A TRAP. THE CAKE IS NOT NECESSARILY A LIE.]

These places should have decent and cheap fast food... Oh! And am I correct to assume you picked up your red bills?

action;
Her Pokemon Togepi was fast asleep in a small carrier on her back while her other two Pokemon were in their Pokeballs so not to cause problems for her while she was put on a job. Her mind was on what adjustments were needed to be done when she found herself stopping her tracks.
"Hey, are you okay? You look like you need help." She said walking on over. She was sure they didn't look okay and she knew at least her place was nearby if she needed to take them to a safe place.
no subject
"You're Edward Elric's automail engineer, right?" she said, stepping away from the post, wavering just a bit on her feet. God she overdid it, everything was starting to spin but she was too stubborn to give into it. "You never saw my face, but we've met. My name is Lan Fan. I'm Prince Ling Yao's retainer--and I need a new arm."
no subject
"That's right. I was. Here's I'm not so much since they aren't currently here." She knew instead of lingering around it was best to get her home, more so before her Togepi would wake up because that could end terribly.
"Firstly lets' get you back to mine before we even talk about anything to do with new arms. So lean on me if you need to and I'll take you to my place."
no subject
At another time Lan Fan may have insisted on walking on her own, but considering she felt like she was about to crumple to the ground at any second leaning on someone didn't seem like such a huge breach of discipline. Especially knowing this was a person who could be trusted.

But she somehow managed to do so and get up to her apartment, grab her keys and open the door before making sure to move her to the couhc for the meantime.
"There we go. Just sit there for the moment. I need to put Togepi to bed and put my toolbox away and then we will get to talking." And with that being said she headed off to her room to put Togepi down and put her toolbox away before coming back through.
"There, so tell me this. What is the purpose for the automail. it's so I can get a better understanding for what kind of design I will be making?"
no subject
"Thank you," she said, so relieved to sit down that she almost passed out on the spot. She sat waiting, elbow resting on her knee, her head in her one hand willing the room to stop spinning. She looked up again when Winry spoke to her, her eyes taking a moment to focus again.
"It needs to be battle-ready. Armored if possible to prevent assailants from targeting the inner workings," she stated plainly. After all, that was exactly how she had attacked Edward--though his arm was already damaged at the time. She grimaced a bit, reaching up to cover her stump with her hand again.
"Alphonse said that Edward completed the recover in a year. I intend to cut that time in half," she said as if it were nothing. "I lost my arm four days ago. When can we begin?"

"Do you need to sit down? What's wrong?" Concern is etched on his face as he pulls out his communicator. "I can call an ambulance." Fainting in the street can't be good.
no subject
"No," she answered stiffly, her eyes a little wild. "I'm alright."
Despite her words she was pale and visibly feverish. Her hand moved to hold the stump at her left shoulder before she thought better of it, making the empty sleeve all the more apparent.

He can't help but turn his gaze downward, toward the higgledies at his feet. He's pretty sure their magic can't regrow an arm, or eliminate a possible infection... but maybe they can help take the edge off.
"Is it okay if I try some healing magic?" Roland doesn't know if she can see them, so he'll have to take the credit for now.
((Higgledies can only be seen by the "pure of heart", so it's up to you if she can see them or not!))
no subject
But people outside of Xing had nothing to gain or lose from her. Not really. She frowned, regarding him. "'Magic'--do you mean Alkehestry?" The healing arts certainly were mistaken for magic by the less educated, the same as reading the dragon's pulse.
[ooc: oooo that's tough... I guess it depends on the exact definition of 'pure of heart' considering she's... probably killed people by now in Xing but for the protection of the Yao clan so... :|a I'm going to lean toward no given that.]
no subject
"I've never heard of that. If that's what you call magic, then... sure?"
((Eh, Ni no Kuni 2 has a really loose definition of "pure of heart". People who can see higgledies in canon include Batu, who gleefully throws people off cliffs for the crime of trespassing, and Leander and Nerea, tyrants with good intentions, while many harmless and even nice NPC's can't. Go with whatever you think would fit best, though!))
no subject
"It is the study of purification and healing arts through the manipulation of chi. It is not 'magic'." Not that she knew anything more of it herself, outside of the definition.

Video;
If ya find out anything on where ta get cheap food let me know?
[ He's trying to conceal his rural Virginia accent but it still shows through some. ]
Video;
...
Right.
[Ugh... she's only marginally better with people-ing than she was before, is that an acceptable response?]
Video;
...I don't mean ta be rude, ma'am.
Video;
...
It's fine.
I... um...
Haven't heard anything yet.
[Did he seriously just call her "ma'am"?]
Video;
So...what is automail?
Video;
Mechanical prosthetics. The are wired directly into the nervous system so that they act just as a natural limb would.
