City Guardian nominations are now open.
Current Guardians and newcomers are welcome to run. Current Guardians will continue their positions until the election process is complete. In the case of more than one guardian seeking nomination, a vote will be held. Anyone else seeking candidacy must reply to this message by Sunday, December 2nd. If only one candidate's name is submitted, no vote will be necessary and duties may be assumed immediately at the end of the election period. After the nominations are made, Guardian Candidates will be given a period to campaign and the polls will be open December 24th-29th.
Current Guardians and their deputy teams who are not re-elected will be given a severance package that will last 1 month from the day they leave office to assist in the transition to a new job position.

Candidate Positions: To actually, oh I don't know, listen to their communities and actually do something instead of rest on their laurels. Also to deal with this absolute nonsense about humans feeling "unsafe" in Everglade.
In-World Accomplishments: Successful branch manager for Holy Diver, rather close campaign last election cycle, a lobbyist for the Undead and Recently Deceased Civil Rights organization, as well as someone that isn't human~
Hobbies: Oh, darlings, I'm always working where I'm needed and necessary. Though I'm quite fond of game shows and the like. As well as dancing and modeling, I suppose.
Other: Why would you continue to put a human in charge of a city that's catered to the safety of non-humans? Honestly, this is ridiculous.

Candidate Positions: Keep increasing Attleton's financial stability, while keeping the local organized crime in check.
In-World Accomplishments: Established an emergency fund in case of emergencies accessible only to the current guardian, set up and regulated gambling in the arena while providing protections for arena participants.
Hobbies: Eating, sleeping, shooting guns, and being financially independent.
Other: I've also voluntarily taken the lowest possible payment in order to fund the emergency fund.

Candidate Positions: Instead of running a sheriff and deputy political appointment position; opening up the Genessia PD more broadly, especially for incoming offworlders wondering what to do with themselves and trying to choose between bounties (which is a flawed system) or settling in only to have that occasionally ripped away just become one person goes home. Likewise, inter-city relations so that in the cases of those like Shiguraki, it's not one guardian in a turf dispute with the others, formalizing relationships between civilians and police so yes, while it's less wild, it's also *safer.*
In-World Accomplishments: Been here for way too long without dying/going home and/or killing anyone. Not even pirates and other fuckers who deserve it.
Hobbies:Hunting pirates. Stacking rocks. Motorcycles. Cigars. Jazz. Justice isn't a hobby, but reading books on justice is? So whatever, all things related to justice. That are hobbies.

Potential Deputies: I will be holding interviews, but I want Sakuya Izayoi at the very least, and Satou is very capable besides her.
Candidate Positions: It'll first be my recommendation that the Night Law stay repealed. However, I'll be looking for ways to strengthen the barrier protecting Everglade.
In-World Accomplishments: There was the times I protected Everglade from both arson and grief-born madness. Among other things.
Hobbies: Whatever I take a fancy to. Lately, I find myself gaining an interest in music.
Other: By the way, I will not be accepting any corsairs as deputies.

Potential Deputies: I will be conducting interviews if I win, but I'd like a variety of deputies with many different expertise.
Candidate Positions: I have a lot that I want to do! With such a hefty to-do list, I will be hiring Deputies with specific experience in these things. I will be using funds from the training business in order to compensate my Deputies as fairly as possible.
In-World Accomplishments: Um... I've been a Detective at Everglade PD for almost eight months now and a Deputy in Attleton for over six. I organized an effort to deal with the creepy dolls in October, and also helped direct people to food sources when we became different creatures for a few days.
My experience in Everglade has made me more aware of the difficulties of adjusting to a new culture, and how alienating it is to be different here. That's something I'd like to change! I've also had experience with many crimes in Everglade, including organizing and participating in investigations.
In Attleton, I've learned the perspective of those without powers and how scary that can feel. I'd like to address that issue by helping educate everyone on each other's unique traits, rather than fearing them.
Hobbies: Uh. S, sparring~! Oh, and I play the VRMMO in Nova~! I can sew too. I like lolita fashion a lot~! I also like to read and broaden my knowledge.

- Ease tensions between those with magic and those without.
- Ease tension between different species in general.
- Protect dragons from slayers or poachers.
In-World Accomplishments:
- Served as Deputy Guardian of Fayren for several terms.
- Helped end the reign of the "Ice Queen" last year.
- Turned in the Fingers of Decay bounty.
- Faced worst fear.
Hobbies: Hunting and scavenging, exploring the world to gain knowledge.
Other: I've no need for the "red bills" that come with the position, so they will be donated to world research endeavors, or those in dire need.

Potential Deputies: Undecided. If I win, I will hold interviews to make sure I have a team who will work well together.
Candidate Positions:
-Greater transparency for all law enforcement (including myself) to ensure high accountability
-Uphold existing equality laws for all citizens of Nova City and increase penalties for citizen rights violations
-Monthly meetings with other Guardians to increase cooperation and collaboration between cities
-Work with the mayor to gradually phase out the bounty system in favour of encouraging people to pursue careers in law enforcement and emergency services
-Hire a clerk to handle the bulk of the Guardian office paperwork to ensure that the majority of the Guardian and deputies' time and energy is devoted to active duty
-Reducing jail time for criminals who aren't a danger to the public in favour of extended community service and fines
In-World Accomplishments:
-Involved in several rescues of people here, including catching the roof of the Genessia arcade before it collapsed and killed people inside
-Helped people deal with their transformations in October by providing stylish clothing that accommodated their physical changes, free of charge
-Owner of a public relations and marketing firm
-Frequently greets and assists new arrivals
-Gives love advice to those in need of it

Potential Deputies: Undecided. I will allow for applications from those who wish to be deputies. It would be my intention to hire two. Suggestions are also entirely welcome, should anyone have any.
Candidate Positions:
Deaf Awareness and Signlanguage
Though the courts seem to have dismissed these cases, I would like to organize something to increase the awareness of said disability and others within the city of Fayren. We would be remiss in ignoring issues brought to us by residents with disabilities.
Mages, Magic, and non Magical Beings
It's impossible to ignore that many of Fayren's bounties have involved mages that have gone rogue in one way or another. While I have nothing against magic myself, I understand that it can be misused to devastating extent. That said, I am not for drastic measures such as registering or restricting magic users or the magically gifted. Instead, I would like to reinforce efforts against magical crime and strengthen the consequences that result from misuse of magic. However, should it come down to it, I am not afraid of making hard decisions in order to protect the people who reside in Fayren from being harmed by anyone, not just mages.
It would be nice if we could hold events to foster relations between magical beings and non magical beings, where they can work together to accomplish a goal. By extension, this includes non human beings as well, should they have decided to reside in Fayren. If someone has come to consider Fayren their home, they are allowed to feel welcome and a part of the city. Overall, These events would require everyone to work together, hopefully to result in everyone seeing the strengths of their neighbors abilities.
Addressing the Recent Dragon Issues
I know there have been two incidences with dragons in recent times in Fayren. Namely the poaching problem as well as the issue with two dragon clans fighting. It would be my intention to increase security and other measures against poaching as well as handing down stronger sentences against those who are caught causing harm to dragons without cause. As for the two clans of dragons who have been at odds, perhaps it is time to seek out and then relocate the clans further apart so that their territories are further apart. This would ensure less issues between the two.
Dragons are beings that deserve respect, so it is my desire to work with them in a conservative manner that does not encroach upon their natural tendencies as long as it does not do harm to the city itself.

Hobbies: Song and Dance, spending time by the ocean, reading. I admit, back home I do not have much time for hobbies at the time of my departure. I am a princess and alongside others I stride to bring peace to several countries that have long since held animosity towards each other.
Other: I currently reside in Fayren, one of many who live in Lakendell out in the mountains. I have come to consider Fayren my second home while I am here, and am overall very fond of it. Mavis has done a wonderful job as Guardian thus far, and I can only hope to do as well should I be voted in. In a similar vein, I am currently classed as a celebrity as one of my jobs. Should I be elected I would suspend my status to focus on my duties as Guardian.
