Who: Gellert, Lithium and Albus.
What: It's time to shift a curse.
Where: Fayren forest.
When: Early december-ish.
Notes: There might be mentions of blood/death and of course the nastier aspects of the curse. I will update if necessary.

He was ready. The shift will require a potion paired with a spell, which makes it a more convoluted process, but he is confident is will work. Still, to be cautious, he sends his Phoenix Patronus off to alert Albus. The bird will relay a simple message:

"I'm ready. Meet us in Fayren."

Once he has all he needs, Gellert ties his hair back and Apparates to the mouth of the cave. He peers inside and grins, knocking on one of the walls.

"Rise and shine, darling, it's time to free you!"

If it all goes well. It has to. He refuses to accept any other outcome. Lithium has suffered enough for ten lifetimes - if not more.

Li gives a faint snort at his candid attitude and shifts out of the way so he has an easier time reaching for the vials. She was more keeping an eye on Gellert to make sure he actually took the brews.

And perhaps ready to move further out of the way if it seemed like they wouldn't stay down. "You sure he's going to be able to stomach these?"

He smiles a little more at Gellert's patient instruction, his own thoughts migrating the exact same way -- perhaps he had rubbed off on Gellert more than anticipated if he was taking to teaching so easily.

"There. That should end the fever," he says, before plucking a few more from the air by him. "Here, now just take these -- these should boost your strength and hopefully quell any further aftereffects from making you ill again."

Li was no stranger to teaching others either but, she was also willing to listen and learn as she glanced towards the vials again. Magic in liquid form? Then again.. what he had her swallow had been some sort of magic itself.

Hopefully they knew what they were going then because Li had no idea.

"Eventually, one of you is going to have to explain these potions to me and what can and can't be done with the things. But, for now... as long as they work as they should, Gellert should be able to sleep some of this off, right? "

He smiles at that, reaching down to stroke Gellert's forehead. "Yes, well, they have a particularly receptive patient today," he says. "Go to sleep and rest a bit, Gellert. I imagine you'll feel oceans better once you have."

"I wonder if I would be able to brew potions then.. Can magical creatures do things like that?" She glances up towards Albus, genuinely curious now that she was free of the curse.

Eventually she turned her attention back to Gellert, watching him and moving to gently tuck the blankets around him more. Maybe it was the mother in her coming out a little, who knew. "If you want, I'll stick around with Albus until you wake up again."

To Li's question, he answers, "I admit, I'm not sure in the case of kelpies. Some creatures have magic in them, such as centaurs and the fae, but I have never seen a kelpie attempt it -- but you are different than the kelpies of our world."

He quiets while Gellert starts to unwind, letting him drift off to sleep without interruption. When he's content that Gellert is completely out, Albus reaches down to tug some blankets over him, covering him gently and letting him stay asleep.

"I figured as much. Maybe it's an experiment to try later." Possibly. Though, right now she was more content on making sure Gellert slept. Which meant the moment he was off to sleep she relaxed.

"...Was the curse really that stressful on him? I mean, I knew it was hell... It was designed for a Kelpie." Her voice was quiet and worried as she tugged the robe a little closer around her.

"It seemed to be," he says, quietly. He does not wish to make Li fret over it or feel guilty for accepting their aid, but he does not wish to lie to her, either. "He was very ill and weak when it transferred initially. But I think once he has rested and let the potions run their course, he will be feeling much more like his usual self."

She nodded quietly. His honesty was something she definitely appreciated. "And you're sure it's gone? That it won't affect him anymore or try to come back to me." She glanced up at him, worry still prevalent in her features.

"Am I really free of it?" Because after dealing with that hell for 300 years, suddenly being free of it left her reeling a little. In a good way but, still wanting to make absolutely sure it's gone. "And how long do you think he'll sleep?"

"I think it is gone, well and truly," he says. "But I will admit, I would like the three of us to be careful, at least for the next few days. I don't doubt Gellert's cleverness in handling it, but the magic of your world is not quite the same as that from ours, so it would be good to keep an eye out if anything changes."

With a small smile, he says, "But I do think that the curse afflicting you should be transferred completely now."

Nodding at Gellert, he says, "I'm not sure. He's far more energetic than I am normally, but this did take its toll. I'll stay here until he's awake and seems well enough to be on his own."
li_amaranth: (You have my interest)

"I can agree to that." She frowned a little. "From what I've seen, the magic from my world is more wild and intense than what you have. Yours is.. controlled. But, you have more of it. Magic's been dwindling in my world for centuries."

Which meant taking a few days to make sure things didn't backslide was probably a good thing. Though, she did have confidence in Gellerts skill. So, at least in that they agree.

"I really can't thank either of you enough. The weight of that hell is gone. I think I can finally be a kelpie again." she smiled slightly. "And when I'm back to being fully healthy, I suppose I should be keeping an eye out for potential Stallions for next spring."

"Not at all," he says with a smile. "I'm glad to see you well, and to know that you're freed of this. I hope you're fully well soon and no longer need to deal with anything more to do with such a curse. And who knows? Perhaps a fitting stallion will appear."
