[ The video starts with Adam looking a bit pensive. ]

I thought a wolf puppy would be okay just eatin' meat. But he don't seem ta know what ta do with it? I think he might be too young yet. Problem is I dunno anythin' else ta give.

[ He does, indeed, have a little solid white wolf puppy in his lap. The puppy looks far too big to be very young. Problem is that's a dire wolf, so judging him by size is not a good idea. ]

If anybody out there has an idea, I'd like ta know?

[ Action, Snow Event ]

[ Usually puppies need to be housebroken. Adam doubts that would go over very well so he's not actively trying to do that. That said, the puppy doesn't care for having his waste around so he's okay with several trips outside a day. Adam generally has to put the puppy in a backpack and smuggle him into work since he hasn't been eating and Adam is getting worried, but the puppy tends to get very upset when Adam left the apartement. But as long as he stays quiet then it would work.

Today the puppy doesn't stay quiet.

Barking and carrying on at the snow itself, Adam doesn't get it until the first monster forms. Alll that Adam an do is get out of the way, so grabing up the pup he goes to do just that. Of course that gets difficult when another of the monsters forms right behind them and in Adam's way. Now with two to deal with, Adam isn't in any way prepareed

[ Setting aside he's talking to a striped cat, Adam looks nonplussed at the suggestion. ]

Pretty sure he's not gonna want tea.

[Nonsense! Everyone wants tea!]

As sure or less sure than you were about him wanting meat?

Well, I could go inta tha biology of a carnivore.

[ Adam's tone is dry as dust. ]

What's "biology"?

[It's ok. The Cheshire Cat is enthusiastic and expressive enough for approximately 3.6 people.]

[ Adam sideyes after moment. ]

You're makin' fun'a me, aren't ya.

Why certainly! Life is best when you can make fun out of everything.

[Which, of course, includes everyone.]

[ The corners of Adam's lips twitch. ]

I'd get it, but I actually was lookin' for help.

Then you're looking at the wrong Cheshire Cat.

[If you hadn't figured that out already.]

Can I interest you in an unbirthday song?

God damn it Namur.

[Sighs and peers over the sunglasses, holding up gloved fingers.] Did you cook the meat?

[ Adam frowns, not sure what Namur had to do with the puppy not eating. ]

No, but I did try cuttin' it up.

[Because Namur was the one who gave a bunch of people dire wolf puppies.]

All right, good. It shouldn't be young enough to not be weaned, but maybe try leaving it on the bone, wolves teach their young to hunt by starting with just carcasses.

What meat have you tried so far?

Just beef. He hasn't eaten anything yet an' I'm gettin' worried. If he's not weaned then I'd give him milk, but I think cow's milk is wrong? Maybe goat's milk...?

[ Adam looks down at the puppy, concerned. ]

I dunno. I'm tryin' ta figure out how ta get nutrients in him?

Not sure about dire wolves, but usually any mammal's milk mixed with a touch of blood works for big cubs.

[Alec's been patrolling since he's heard the reports of snow monsters. When he hears the barking, he starts running toward the sound. He assesses the situation, monsters, puppy and the guy holding it and focuses on the monster closest to the potential victims.

The air near his hand and over his shoulder shimmers and his bow and quiver appear. Arrows haven't been that effective, but they seems to slow the things down. An arrow through the monster's 'knee' causes it to stumble. That should be enough of a distraction so the guy and the dog can get away.]

Run! I'll deal with them!

[ Adam does not need to be told twice. He did flinch when the arrow took the leg from under one, but he whipped around to see who shot the arrow. Adam was not sure where he was supposed to go but he figured anywhere was better than here. Adam tried heading back toward the door.

They are literally made from snow so it did not take much to stop them. But the monsters were relentless. The one that had an arrow shot at is 'knee' had his entire leg removed. It did not stay in that form but the snow that was making it up dissolved back into a heap. Whenever their bodies were made unusable they often formed new ones. The first swiped a 'hand' at Alec. ]

[Stowing the bow so it would be out of the way, Alec charges forward, trying to draw the creatures toward him to give Mundane and puppy a chance to get away. As the one crumbles, he focuses most of his attention on the second.

He manages to dodge the swipe, but skids when he tries to get out of the reach of the creature that's reforming. Cursing under his breath, he manages to correct himself, scrambling awkwardly away from the pair so that he'd look more like prey than the monsters' intended victims. As soon as he draws them away from the door, he'll start attacking them in earnest.]

[ Adam is still holding that puppy but he reaches behind himself to open the door. ]

Hey! C'mon! Ya gotta get off the street!

[ The only way to stop these snow monsters is by trapping the summons that they are made up from. It takes special traps to do that but Adam doesn't have one. And there is no way he would leave anyone especially when they have just saved him. ],/small>

[Why didn't Mundanes run when they were being rescued? At first he'd assumed that kind of insanity was isolated to Clary and Simon but now he wonders if all Mundanes lack a sense of self-preservation.]

I'll be okay. [As he speaks, tugs free the stone he'd rigged to hang around his neck. Then he draws his seraph blades, naming each one so they blaze with angelic light. One of the creatures tries to trample him, but he spins out of the way, slashing at the snow until it begins to crumble.] Go! Now! Dealing with monsters is my job!

[ Adam says nothing. He purses his lips and disappears inside. This distraction at least gives him that chance.

He does return a few minutes later though. This time without the puppy in his arms. Alec has shining blades. Adam has a cordless iron. The sort used on laundry. Without pause, he walks right up to one of the snow monsters and uses the iron against it's back.

There is a huge blast of steam and the monster squeals. It dissolves quickly again becoming just snow. Adam is left standing behind it holding the iron out before him. He only had to turn his head and look at the other look at the other snow monster for it to also dissolve and run away. They would be back, though. They were all over Fayren after all.

Still with the iron outstretched, Adam looks at Alec. ]

Thanks for tha save. We should probably get off tha street now.

[When one monsters if crumbled to powder but trying to reform, Alec backs away, ready to confront the second when the Mundane returns. He's about to yell at him to get back inside when he realizes what the other is holding.

When the blast of heat deals with the threat, Alec grins and starts getting few ideas of how to deal with the monsters.]

Thanks for the quick thinking. I wasn't sure if heat would work. [Shaking his head, he sheathes the swords. He's going to need different weapons if he's going to hunt snow monsters... especially without Jace to watch his back.] I've got to keep patrolling. You and your puppy should stay inside until the monsters are gone.

[ Adam raises his eyebrows at Alec. ]

Ya seriously plan on goin' around and findin' more of those snow-things ta fight?

[ True Alec had shiny swords but actually looking for trouble seemed unnesecary to Adam. ]

[For a moment, Alec considers what answer would be the quick and accurate.]

I used to do it every night. It's a sacred duty. I swore a vow to protect innocent people from monsters.

[He gestures to the snow that, thankfully, hasn't formed into any new creatures.]

They're easier to deal with than demons.

[Adam pursed his lips again. ]

It would probably be more effective ta find what's causin' these things ta form in tha first place.

[ Not that Alec couldn't necessarily patrol but it seemed like a wasted effort if the monsters simply reformed. ]

Or at least find a way ta actually stop them. Addin' heat just makes them run away.

I've heard a few rumors about why it's happening. It's probably magic. [Which means there really wasn't much he could do to stop them.] There's stones that are supposed to stop them. If you can catch them before they run away.

[Looking down at the snow he wasn't sure what to call the snow creatures form of escape.] Or whatever they just did to disappear.

The wolf puppy is really adorable, even if they are rather big for a puppy.

[Rapunzel really didn't know much about them, but she was going to at least try.]

Have you tried normal dog food? Or is it a puppy that actually needs a special kind of food? Do you know?

No. He needs the right nutrition fer a wolf puppy. I'm guessin' milk might work. But I think cow's milk is wrong so I dunno what ta use or where ta get it?

[ He looks concerned about it. ]

He hasn't eaten yet. I'm gettin' worried.

I guess wolfs milk would be impossible to get.

[She paused for a moment, trying to think of how to help.]

Maybe artificial milk...No... that wouldn't work either and it is worrying that they aren't eating. Maybe there will be someone who knows more.

[ Adam thinks for a moment. ]

Do ya have a dog? Or know anybody that has a dog? A new momma dog would at least be able ta feed 'im.

Well no. But oh... I know someone who's good with animals. Maybe he can help!

Perhaps the situation will improve when a blast of magical energy, like a blue laser, comes out of seemingly nowhere and knocks one of the beasts back, with a large hole in its snowy body for good measure.

The source of energy is Roland, slowly lowering a fantastic-looking gun from its firing position and glancing over at Adam and the puppy.

"Are you two okay?"

Adam is suitably impressed. He stares at Roland with wide, round eyes.

'Um...yeah."

Because the Summons that created them has not been trapped, the snow body with a hole in its chest reforms around that hole quickly. But this has successfully distracted them so they concentrate their attack on Roland.

Since they are made of snow their attacks are less dangerous and more irritating; partying at Roland with arms made of snow and essentially dumping snow over him over and over.

"Good." With a flash of light, the gun in Roland's hand is replaced with an equally fantastic sword. "Get out of here if you can't fight them!"

With that, he rushes at the two snow beasts, ready to engage.

While it is true Adam isn't much good in a fight he does think no matter what is happening around him.
Still holding the puppy, Adam shouts back;

"Heat. Can ya heat that sword?"
