Open Log--Late November--December (Open to all)
MMO-Shenanigans--Holodeck’d: Game Time--Nova City.Locked to Soma Cruz and Anastasia k. Leonheart
Video games in general were sort of new to Trunks. Not in concept, but in any kind of playing or interacting with them regularly before coming to Genessia. In the peaceful timeline, his younger self had been fond of them and played regularly, but that had been the only time Trunks had really played before now. Having seen what the games here were like, Trunks knew his younger self would also be so jealous.
He didn't feel like trying it solo though, and Soma and Anastasia both played, so Trunks asked to join them. Given what his life was like, he also set up his avatar NOT as primarily a fighter on the front-lines. One of the classes offered was an 'engineer' which seemed to be primarily similar in build to a thief but with a few special abilities. Perfect, in his eyes, as he could still fight if needed but it'd require him to use his brain more, and be sneaky. Now it was just following Soma and Ana's lead...

This type of video game, besides just being a hologram, was entirely new to Trunks. Enjoyable though, especially as he was trying a new role besides 'front-line fighter'; he got more than enough of that in real life. It took him some getting used to, playing an engineer, but he was adapting well enough to building traps and small gadgets in game to help make up for any lack of fighting-power his class lacked. It was also fun to play with his friends, but he was open to playing with others too.
Meetings-and-Meditation; Genessia City Park, Early MorningLocked to Rose and 13
Their lives had gotten busier, and with Bulla's recovery (even if she had been physically healed really swiftly), Trunks had been sticking closer to home for several days. Which meant he and Rose were overdue for a meeting to work on her meditation. Understandably so, but Trunks kind of needed it himself at this point. Helping keep Rose focused actually helped him focus pretty well too. That, and Rose had said she wanted to bring someone for Trunks to meet...
Training with family (1); Capsule Corps Gravity Room, Nova CityLocked to Vegeta.
Better to get it out of the way sooner rather than later. Even if Trunks had been keeping up with his training, albeit mostly by working with others on their training, it would never be enough for Vegeta. It was just how he was--and they could start with the gravity room instead of the coliseum this time.
Easy enough for Trunks to just meet his father there after his shift at Torchwood, since Trunks was usually at Capsule Corps anyways by that time.
Training with family (2); Attleton Coliseum, Attleton.Locked to Bulla (family welcome too)
Really, it was the best place to not care about how much damage they might do, even if Trunks disliked the audience still. Part of him really didn't like feeling like he was performing, especially when it came to fighting. But the coliseum so far had stood up to more punishment than anything else, which made it a good place for Trunks to cut-loose. If he was going to help Bulla with her own super-saiyan state, it was exactly what they needed.
Holiday Shopping: Around Genessia, Nova, Attleton. Anytime up to the 23rdOpen to All
It was a new experience, being able to celebrate the holidays and not having to worry as much about safety as he normally did. Granted, these cities weren't entirely safe--but they weren't recovering from a near-apocalypse or trying to survive in a full-apocalypse. Ergo, safer in his mind. Which meant he was shopping not only for presents, but also for a holiday dinner.
Trunks was very glad his mom had opened a branch of Capsule Corps here, as it was easier for him to bring along a capsule fridge to store food he bought, and also boxes to store presents in. With his father back, Trunks had to adjust his budgeting, but that wasn't too hard. Now he just had to figure out what presents he would get people...
Snow Monsters! Around Genessia City, Nova City, and Everglades. December 14th onwardOpen to all
The first hint of something being wrong had come while Trunks was in Genessia City, walking home from the library. At first he'd not been sure it wasn't just a part of the kid's game, having their snowman chase them. At least until the tears started, and that wasn't part of the game. Easy enough to use a targeted ki blast to melt the snowman. When it started to reform though, Trunks blinked and bit back a curse.
No matter how many times he melted the snowman, it kept reforming---until one of the kids threw some kind of white-and-gold sphere at the melted snowman and captured...something. Whatever it was, Trunks was going to question later. Inquiring about where to get one of those spheres, Trunks found he had some shopping to do.
Armed with the spheres, he's going snow-monster hunting with anyone who wants to join him.

Locked; Game Time
Hi, Trunks. Soma is still going to be a bit so I can answer any questions while we wait.
Re: Locked; Game Time
So this is some kind of fantasy-medieval exploration game right? How difficult are the enemies? Is it possible to just sneak past some of them?
[Reaching up and rubbing at his head with a sheepish grin.]
I figured I'd try a different role than usual. I'm an 'engineer'--it's a class based mostly on the thief-and-rogue, but with a few specialties that are suited to building things and modifying gadgets and stuff. I'm usually on the front line of fighting enough in my normal life...
Re: Locked; Game Time
[Citation needed. Anastasia had trouble.]
Of course, further out in the wilderness, you will find stronger and aggressive monsters. They should leave us alone if we stay at least 30 yards away from them.
Re: Locked; Game Time
Sorry I'm late. I had a last minute customer at the shop. What quests do you two have? I've cleared a fair amount of the earliest stuff already on an alt - Brawler just didn't work out for me.
Re: Locked; Game Time
[Offered with a wave, as Trunks is glad to see the other.]
I just figured I'm usually on the front lines enough, so time to try something different. I've completed the basic beginner quests, but some of the more combat-oriented ones were more challenging since I'm not in a primarily combat-role.
Re: Locked; Game Time
[A more combat-related role? That gets her thinking.]
What's your class again, Trunks? Engineer? It should be possible to build your character to fit what you're used to. I think Engineer can advance to a support, tank or damaging role.
Re: Locked; Game Time
[He'll let Anya handle the class info for now - she's got a pretty good handle on it. Meanwhile, he's checking out their gear.]
If you guys want better stuff, there's a pretty good on-level spot for farming near here. The gear isn't worth much, but it's got bonus stats that are kind of rare for stuff this early on.
Re: Locked; Game Time
[With a smile and hint of laugh, because Trunks knew himself too well. Even in a game, he'd be likely one of the first to put himself between danger and others. Engineer would mean he'd have to be smarter about it though.]
I wouldn't mind some better gear, as well as scavenging for more parts. My next level I can start building a robot-assistant and upgrade it as I go.
Snow monsters! - Nova
The more she fought these snow monsters with fire, the hotter the immediate area around her got. She's safe from the heat and the monsters, but Fire magic takes too much of her energy. She was running out and the temperature dropped again. She was sooned backed into a corner, drawing a barrier spell from the Tyrinolim, borrowed from Mavis to create a pocket of safety as the horde of snow monsters began banging on the magical shield.]
Unn! I might have Mavis's spell, but I don't have her control! I can't hold it! Somebody! Help!
Re: Snow monsters! - Nova
[The voice is familiar, and Ana had seen Trunks fight before so the ki blasts shouldn't be too unfamiliar or startling. Bursts of light-and-energy that spattered snow against her barrier. Thorough and swift, Trunks holding one hand up and at the ready for more blasts--but he'd created an opening for Ana for now.]
Time to go Ana, there are better spots to fight from.
Re: Snow monsters! - Nova
Trunks... Thanks. Can you lead? I'm afraid I'm out mana to keep up the barrage.
Re: Snow monsters! - Nova
Already planned on it, and I know how to get rid of 'em so they don't reform.
[But this was still a really bad position for them both.]
I'll explain once we get some more space--how's your throwing arm?
Re: Snow monsters! - Nova
[She did catch all these Pokemon before.]
I don't understand what you're going for. What does throwing have to do with these monsters?
Re: Snow monsters! - Nova
[A few targeted bursts of ki, trying to slow the progress as the snowmen reform.]
Soon as we get some more space, I'll pass them to you. I blast, you capture--sound good?
Re: Snow monsters! - Nova
Lead the way, Trunks.
Re: Snow monsters! - Nova
[Trunks keeping up those Ki bursts while moving with Anastasia out of the corner and area they'd been backed into. Leading the way to an area with some decent temporary cover, so he could pull out a capsule. Pressing the button and a quick toss, and it revealed a small storage crate.]
I have some capture balls in there. I'll blast 'em, you throw?
[With an encouraging smile, and every faith in her throwing arm.]
Locked: Gravity Room Training
He arrived first and waited outside for his son to join him. Instead of his usual training clothes, he was wearing a track suit that he bought while shopping with Nappa. It was black with pink accents. Something Vegeta was miraculously good at pulling off for some reason. "So you finally decided to show up."
Vegeta joined his son in stepping inside the gravity room and hovered over the control panel for a while, trying to find something sufficiently challenging for Trunks to even stand up in. "Let me know if you become unable to stand, and we can change it." he smirked, knowing he would do no such thing.
Re: Locked: Gravity Room Training
sorry, i can change the format
You caught me. [He pushes buttons until the gravity is 5 times what it would normally be. Turning, he faces Trunks, increasing it to 10 and then 15. Vegeta continues like this until he sees Trunks having to exert effort to remain upright. Although he would never admit it, he's not going to do anything that might kill his son. That level of recklessness he reserves for himself. Doesn't mean he'll go easy on him, though.]
Let's keep it here. [Wordlessly Vegeta begins to stretch, feeling the additional gravity but not struggling against it too much. Once he powers up it should be negligible.] I want you to use your sword to try to hit me.
Snow Monsters
He can still be hurt, tho. Uai is hit squarely with the fist of a snow giant, sending him flying backward. He teleports midair and reappears on the ground. Next to Trunks. With an angry snow monster chasing him down.]
Oh, hey. It's you! Don't you fight?
Re: Snow Monsters
I do. Nice to see you again Uai.
[Entirely as if Uai'd just asked about the weather. Including firing off that kiblast, and then a few others to disintegrate the snow-monster. Pulling out one of white and gold balls, he lobs it towards the blasted snow-monster.]
That won't keep it down--you alright?
no subject
Yes, I'm doing great! Aside from having my ass kicked by angry snowmen.
[He summons his sword, but it's more to pretend he can fight. Uai hasn't been fairing too well against the snow monsters, in case that isn't obvious enough.]
Don't suppose you can handle this one?
no subject
Think you can throw, if I blast?
Holiday Shopping; Genessia
He had a small list of people he wanted to get something for and with some slight budgeting he has figured out what to get everyone. Currently, he found himself pausing for a moment before he looked at the list before glancing around, he was trying to figure out where the store was, but after a moment or two, he figured he should really check he was even in the right place.
So upon spotting the first person he decided to speak up. "Ah, excuse me. Sorry for interrupting you, but I am trying to find a certain store. You would please help me."
Re: Holiday Shopping; Genessia
Re: Holiday Shopping; Genessia
"It's a clothing store. I heard it was nearby, but I have yet to come across it."
Re: Holiday Shopping; Genessia
Re: Holiday Shopping; Genessia
"I put a circle as to where I was meant to go, but I've never been to this area... so I got a little bit lost."
Snow Monsters
They simultaneously charge. He tries to throw it down. It has more tenacity than he expects. It headbuts him, which pushes him back slightly. He pushes it back harder, trying to destroy the snowy body.
He's so focused on his opponent that he doesn't notice Trunks nearby.]
Re: Snow Monsters
Help incoming!
[Moving to join the other, Trunks braces himself and helps Sousuke push the snow-clone back. It's almost comical, considering Trunks inherited his mother's slender frame, while Sousuke is much more burly. Good thing the half-saiyan is much stronger and more sturdy than he looks.]
Re: Snow Monsters
Normally when he meets someone strong, it stirs up his desire to fight.
He's almost thrown off balance by the overwhelming strength of the half-saiyan.
He rights himself and finds openings in the monster's defense. Adapting to new battle conditions is something he'll have to learn as a wrestler.
Sousuke lacks supernatural abilities, but he guesses Trunks is much stronger than his father was during his prime.]
Re: Snow Monsters
Re: Snow Monsters
His eyes widen.]
What? How?
Re: Snow Monsters
[Because while that ki blast is good at blowing apart the snow monsters, they don't stay blown apart.]
They don't stay down or blown apart. You have to throw one of these at them.
[Pulling out a small gold and white sphere from his pocket, albeit with most of his attention on the reforming-snow-monster.]
Re: Snow Monsters
[ He did get a few from the suspicious fellow, but he doesn't have the funds to stockpile them.
He regains enough composure to bring out his own orb and throw it at his weakened snow clone.]
Training with family part 2
"Let's see how long I can hold it."
It still burns off a lot of energy, and she's eager to master it and become even stronger.
Re: Training with family part 2
With a chuckle, as Trunks brought his own transformation to the fore. "Have you had a chance to actually spar yet like this, or are you going off of memories?"
no subject
So mostly memories. Enough to help her improve quickly, but even then she hadn't mastered it there.
"I've used the gravity chamber to train with the transformation, too. In that other world, there was a place called the Battle Dome, but for the longest time, the highest the gravity would go was ten times Earth's gravity...and then it eventually got upgraded, but it was still only thirty times Earth's gravity."
In other words, something she barely even felt even in her base form.
"At least here, it can go up to levels where I actually need to keep up the transformation if I don't want to be struggling to even walk."
