[ When Konoka appears on video this time, it's from her room in Amatsu Inn. She's rather relaxed this time, but she looks... amused and defeated.

Anyone who owns a cat would recognize that face, likely because they've probably made it themselves.

There's a Torracat snoozing in her lap. And apparently even the lightest cajoling makes it growl angrily in its sleep. Konoka is going nowhere. ]

I think this cat's angry with me. I sorta deserve it though, I haven't really let him loose since I traded for him a while ago.

But anyway, I really want to see how this election shakes out. As much as I like healing, I kinda want to still have a social life too. Well, you know, when my Pokemon let me.

[ Apparently Yuunagi is also around, and it just gives her a look upon saying that. Konoka blithely ignored it. ]

So what's everyone's Christmas plans? Me, I really just want to spend some more time with my friends...

[ What a time to rekindle her appreciation of Torracat. Because it's more than happy to beat up random snow monsters.

...at it's own pace anyway.

Hence Konoka (and her Audino) squealing and having to dodge heavy snow punches from a fierce snow beast. It gives what sounds like a slushy growl before aiming another punch at someone else, someone that Konoka hadn't noticed in her scramble to avoid getting snow attacked. ]

[ Should they not be particularly quick though, Torracat would rescue them via casually sauntering in the way of said punch, its superheated body causing it to not even register outside of a hiss of steam. Of course, snow melts, leaving Torracat mildly wet--and annoyed. It aimed a fierce blast of fire in the monster's face, melting it entirely. Konoka sighed and used a crystal before it could actually reform. She stared at the annoyed cat. ]

Well, I did try to tell you... [ It's only then that Konoka turns to the other person. ] Sorry about that.

[Uai has not been fairing "well" amidst all of the snow chaos. When a punch comes his way, his initial response to just take it. It's surprising to see someone, especially a giant cat-thing, protect him.

It's also a touch of a guilt trip. He feels bad being protected when he doesn't really care.]

Your cat okay? [He teleports closer, looking down at the Torracat.] Here. I can dry you off.

[ Torracat continued to be a little annoyed, but it didn't refuse the aid of a non-hostile stranger, especially as Konoka neared. She tilted her head at the man, taking a moment to recognize him. ]

Oh, you're the guy I rememeber talking to about dragons a while ago! Are you alright?

[ She also remembered that his situation about that was... complicated. Though the details were forgotten to her now. ]

[With the approval to help, Uai begins evaporating some of the water: He holds his hand over Torracat and collects the moisture in a ball of snow. It's a slow process, since he's talking to Konoka at the same time.]

Yes, that's me. Name's Uai.

[He chirps to Torracat, signaling that he's done, then tosses the snowball into the snowbank.]

I'm fine. What about you two? Getting some winter exercise?

Yeah, more or less!

[ Konoka gave a bright smile as she saw that Torracat was okay. Audino made doubly sure by leaning an ear on the cat, who just regarded her with a curious stare. ]

Surprisingly not too many injuries now, so I have been minding my store. What about you?

If your cat is fussy about being contained, why not let him roam a little?

[He, too, has a cat on his lap, though his seems to be more content and sleepy.]

That's actually what I've been doing.

Though at the moment, he seems to enjoy my lap.

[ Torracat has settled into sleep since Konoka has given up on moving. ]

That is good. They do seem to enjoy being on a warm lap for nice long naps.

[As he says it, he gently scritches his own cat's ears, soft enough not to wake him.]

Yep. And this cat's pretty warm himself so it definitely helps keep me from getting frozen when it's cold.

[ Konoka smiles at the thought. ]

By the way, how long have you had your kitty?

Only a week or so. I only just adopted him, but he seems to be happy about it so far.

Awww! He looks so comfy!

[ Probably comfier than her, but she's comfortable so that's saying something. ]

He does, I think. He seems quite happy here.

My name's Konoka Konoe. I'm a temporary deputy and full time healer.

A pleasure to meet you, then. You are a healer? I am a doctor, so we may be in similar trades.

Oh, that's pretty cool!

Do you specialize in anything?

[Poisons and the occult, but he won't say that part out loud.]

Not particularly, I am just a general physician. And a veterinarian, when the occasion calls.

Oh, alright!

I've largely been a healer of wounds and magical maladies, but I'm versed enough for advice on sicknesses as well, and will hopefully be learning more.

[ And at least one avenue would require her bugging her 'big sister', but same difference. ]

What sort of magical maladies would you be treating, might I ask? [He's encountered stuff like that before, but it's usually been black magic -- not something he necessarily wants to advertise he used to work with.]

I've undone petrification before. I've healed some poisons while I'm here, and I'm working on more... regular sicknesses too. And other curses.

[ Geez there's so much to remember! ]

That's quite a lot. Are there many poisons and curses being inflicted in this place? It's seemed quiet since I arrived here, but I admit I am still rather new.

Not really? I helped with petrification back at home, I'm just still training here so I can turn it into a consistent thing.

I haven't seen many heavy curses out here, just injuries.

I see. Are the injuries frequent, then?

Somewhat, yeah. I get visitors to my hospital roughly once a day. Nothing horribly major, but it keeps me busy on some days.

For a city this large, that seems fairly good, in terms of people staying out of harm's way.

Yep. There were a lot of healers here before, but so many wound up leaving too. So I've been thinking about ways to organize medical help.
