(Not so) Festive Faye - Christmas Eve/Day
Genessia - Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve Faye took herself into Genessia, more for a wander and to catch up on her thoughts more than anything else. She would look for somewhere to eat, and could be found in a local bar nursing a mug of hot mulled wine. Any other Christmas revellers out there?
Nova City - Christmas Day
Faye isn't much for the holidays - she's never really had the friends, family, loved ones for that. Gren had promised her that he'd show her how fun Christmas could be. But he was gone now. So what else was there but to go to work? That was what she usually did on a Tuesday. So, in the morning, Faye took herself out on patrol. There no doubt wouldn't be much to see or do, what with most people staying warm and dry indoors, celebrating Christmas. But who knew what could happen? She may as well patrol just in case.

/if you don't mind him being creepy :(
It was Christmas Eve, a holiday which made even less sense to him here than it did back home (for those who even kept up with the tradition). Genessia swallowed people whole and when it was finished their remains would be lost in the space between this reality and one's own, only remnants were left of their existence here. Like the photograph of D and Gren and all of his partner's drawings that were left in intended places.
Ah, right, Faye and D himself as well. They two were left as keepers for Gren's memories.
At the moment, he was trailing after Faye until she entered a bar. He stood outside for a good twenty minutes before he went in after and took a seat beside her. Quietly and intentional -- just like the seat he had taken by Gren when he first laid eyes on him.
Creepers welcome!
She lapsed into silence as she took another drink, enjoying it somewhat quicker now that D was beside her. "So you've lost your Christmas fun too, hmm?"

"That such a thing exists in this world.." Christmas, that is. If this place had a track record of losing its inhabitants, how on this earth did it keep a hold of off-world traditions and customs? "Have you come here to find what you're looking for?"

She looked at him a little closer, turning to face him more, her expression blank. "What I'm looking for? Hm. I'm not looking for anything. Just...drinking my mulled wine and minding my own business."

When the bartender came around to D, the dhampir asked for whisky, but he hadn't said anything besides that. Content to sit in silence if she wanted to.

He wondered if there was yet still something in this world that tore into their existence, something they have not figured out. But what would this place ask of a damphir?

So when he got the food all ready to start cooking (and making sure the Skyhouse's robotic maids and AI knew what to do if he didn't make it back early enough), he went out to look for Faye. He was a little dressed up for a little search, but it didn't hurt to dress up a little for the holiday too, right? Gale didn't take his motorcycle, choosing to walk and travel through WayPoints to get to Faye's assigned sector of the city, with Vulpix at his side in case she could spot Faye before he did. It was a pretty big sector of the city, after all. It could be easy to miss each other.
Sure, he could just send her a message and tell her to come home, but he'd much rather see her in person to bring her home instead.]

*It sounded warm and cheerful, but that was definitely Faye's voice, carrying out loudly enough in the mostly deserted streets to give away her location*
Bye, bye Deputy Faye!~
*The voice that replied was a child's, ringing out excitedly in return. She has just given a young family directions for where they are going to spend Christmas, all just part of her job as a deputy - and it looks like she is doing just fine. When she was doing waving back at the kid, Faye put her hands back into her pockets and continued along her way, her smile soon disappearing from her face too*

Hey sweetheart, shouldn't you deputies be enjoyin' a day off?
[Vulpix added a happy "Vul!" following Gale's words.]
You oughta be inside where it's warm, y'know?
no subject
Oh... I dunno about that. Guess I'd have to ask my boss for permission...
*Faye stopped just a little distance from him, glancing down at his Vulpix, and back up to him, eyes more curious now - had he actually come out here just to get her?*
no subject
Juuust between you and me, but I don't think he's a stickler for the rules. So I'd say you could do what you want.
[He winks to her.]
But I have it under good authority that your boss wants you home where it's warm and there's both food and company. Or will be food, rather. That's still cooking. The warmth and company is certainly there already.
[He most certainly had come all the way out here to get her. He wasn't about to let her spend the day alone, not while he drew breath on this very day.]
What do ya say? Wanna stick it to the man and let the robots do the work?

*Faye was hardly going to argue when he had come all the way out here, into the cold, and while he was cooking food at home. Besides, it was now captain's orders to head back. She looked at him a moment more*
Alright. Let's go. Best keep the big boss man happy, hmm?
