It seems that January 1st is the beginning of a new year here as it is back home. I was not able to wish anyone a merry solstice and happy Yule, but I would like to wish all of you a very happy new year. May good fortune and even greater health befall you and yours.

Also... [Aurora turned and gave a knowing, if somewhat disapproving look towards her parliament of owls that are smart enough to look bashful.] I must deeply apologize as I find myself in excess of cloaks and coats and scarves that are most certainly not mine and I believe were taken by my feathery friends.

If you are missing a coat, scarf, or cloak, please let me know and I will have one of my owls return it to you and you have my sincerest apologies for causing you any discomfort this winter.

They just might have, I don't know where they've gotten this habit of taking clothes from other people... well... I know where one of them got it, but I can't imagine him insisting the rest of the parliament do the same.

They're probably trying to take care of you, since you're new. You can borrow it, if they do have it. Until you get your. If you need it, I mean. I wore it once and then washed it.

It is entirely possible, I only just arrived last month and was not able to entirely prepare for the winter months. It was late spring near summer for me, in fact.

But all the same, they should not be permitted to steal from others, taking care of me or not.

[ Charlie is quiet for a moment, listening to Aurora and thinking things over. A month is enough time to get situated, but not everyone is as lucky as she is. And while she doesn’t know Auroras situation, it is still close to Christmas. ]

If you have the hat, keep it. It’s a Christmas present and a welcome gift.

Oh, I'm afraid so. I didn't have much time to prepare for winter before my arriving here. I mentioned it briefly to my friends, I think they misunderstood me.

I know exactly why they did it, to be honest, asking them outright tends to take away any guess work. And while as sweet as it is that they wish to take care of me in these winter months, I cannot say I am thrilled that they stole from others.

It's because they love you. Tell you what - I'll come over with lots of coats, scarves and cloaks and I think we can forget this happened.

Oh, they are nice, it's why they did what they did. I admit, that this is partially my fault. I had made an idle comment about not being entirely prepared for such a cold winter here.

They took it upon themselves to see that I was warm for winter.

Well, several people have been very kind in offering me the pilfered goods, I have quite a few scarves now. I'm afraid I'm a bit underprepared when it comes to thicker clothes over all, however.
