[It was someone's 18th birthday today, but she wasn't keen on celebrating it with people. Well, anyone not apart of the Crimson Squad, or anyone back in her real home. Just wasn't in the mood and she already had that huge Christmas party. Chances were she would just buy some cake or steak for home and celebrate it with her roomies. So with all of this, she hoped to go out and eat without a fuss.

Then the restaurant she dined at heard it was her birthday and were doing a song. Much as she wanted to yell...well there was free cake. Free food was always a good way to shut her up. Though now if only they weren't so loud. In the meantime, Homura is covering her face in one hand, impatiently waiting for lunch while trying not to be too embarrassed.

...maybe contacting Mirajaine was better. Keyword being maybe.]

Well, at least this can't get any worse.

Give me something to fight in the holodeck. Not asking someone to spar because I don't want to hold back. So give me some ideas as to what the hell I should kill in there to get stronger.

[The smallest member of the squad was present, of course. She was finally adjusted to the whole 'actually a part of normal society' thing again, and was finding it quite refreshing to occasionally be able to be out with her friends in a way she rarely could back home. It wasn't just financial concerns that kept them out of places like this normally, after all. She doesn't seem too bothered by the singing but its not like its directed at her.]

Worse? This is great the way it is! We're all out together, AND you have cake. You should be really happy about this!

Not all of us,technically. The others still ain't with us and...[She sighed; wanted to keep this secret but well, might as well reveal it.] I had big plans to celebrate big on my birthday. Saved a ton of money so we could all go out and relax, just the five of us.

[She really did miss everyone. Hadn't been separated from the team this long since...ever.]

[That sort of response was not what Mirai had expected. She's used to the cocky, confidant woman that inspired her to do her best. That sigh hit her so hard that it was visible on her face. If she wasn't sitting down, she'd be falling over herself trying to be reassuring.]

Huh? But that is what I was doing! But..all that money is back home now, so its no good. Its your birthday, we are the ones who were supposed to being doing stuff for YOU!

[And sadly, in the short period of time she'd been in this world, Mirai had not exactly become wealthy. Thus that plan had to sadly be cast aside, for the time being at least.]

A..and I'm sure that nothing will happen to Yomi and miss Haruka. They're strong, just like all of us. We'll all be together again sometime, just like old times. You'll see! And when we see them again, we'll have all sorts of interesting things to tell them, too!

[Mirai clearly meant well. Homura knew that. And her team could handle themselves. Still plenty of shinobi in her world too. But she couldn't shake some of the loneliness, and her other fears.]

I can't exactly help find this situation a bit concerning, now that I have been here a few months. Plus there's also Shin and just...all of this annoys the hell out of me.

[Naturally she knew just telling Homura 'hey, don't worry' didn't mean she wouldn't worry. Mirai may be a little childish at times, but she's not an idiot. She'd had enough worries herself to know they couldn't just be shut on and off on a whim. The fact that it was bothering Homura enough to show meant it was REALLY bothering her. All Mirai could do was her best to support her teammate, and friend.]

I won't try and tell you not to worry at all. That'd be just silly! I'm worried, too. Maybe not as much as you, but there's no telling what sort of thing might happen in a place like this where just about anything seems like it can show up. Yoma could start showing up tomorrow! Or they could never appear at all.

[Mirai is really not used to all this serious talk. She's normally the one that NEEDS perking up.]

But we're all here for you. Not all of us are HERE here, but I'm sure the others are thinking of you in their own ways. Whatever happens, we'll face it together! S..so stop making me be so serious, this is a party!

[Her mood did seem to lighten a bit. Right, she was with friends right now. Snd there were other times this type of brooding could be done. Just had to work out some aggression later.]

[And back to the singing, Homura's eye flinching. You better take those cakes, Mirai.]

[Gah. Mirai wasn't even going to mention that. This was Homura's day, a day that she clearly needed. She needed support from her friends, not complaints. So Mirai's own birthday was something she had intended to just let quietly slip past. The fact that she herself had managed to forget made it easier. While she was used to this world now, she hadn't been back when her day went past.]

Yeah, it did, but that isn't important! I...

[Those singers didn't even seem aware of the serious conversation they were butting in on. But it seemed they were finally winding down with their off-brand version of the birthday song.]

Yes, thank you. So much. But can you leave us alone now? We're trying to talk here!

[Looks like today is her turn to be one of THOSE kind of customers!]

[That got Homura to smile at least. She was trying to not let her anger go out of control. At least Mirai got them to leave.]

Thanks for that. If I give you both cakes,how about we call it even for birthdays?

Not a chance! Its your birthday, so we're eating cake together. I'd rather do that then keep it all to myself. B..besides, I haven't really made any money since I got here so I kinda sorta maybe don't have anything to give you...

[Her voice trails off more then a little at the end. Even without the singers being annoying anymore, shes still a bit difficult to hear.]
