[Since Enis disappeared, Eliot has been at a loss. For one, he has more time on his hands. Surprising perhaps, when he runs a large business. He had become so accustomed to balancing housework for her with his job that there is now a sizable gap in his daily schedule, filled with nothing but missing his friend.
Also, with being horrendously hungry. He did her housework in exchange for her blood, but now Eliot is without it. In the middle of winter, when he needs blood the most.
TL;DR later: Eliot is a sad and hungry vampire.]
This... This is incredibly difficult for me to phrase. Please consider it c-carefully.
I need human blood... uh. How much would I have to exchange for that...?
Without being hunted down or something.
Asking for a friend. [A pause. Eliot is such a terrible liar. He also doesn't like telling lies this serious, so amends his statement:] That friend is me.
[ACTION]
[Eliot can later be found holed up in one of Genessia City's many cafes. He thought it would be a good idea to do some furniture shopping for the new mansion, but the cold has caught up to him. He's sitting at a table with five steaming hot lattes, lids off, bunched together. And he's warming his hands over them like they're a fireplace.
He's also wearing about three layers of clothing and looks absolutely pathetic.]

[At least the other vampires in Genessia has an incentive to switch to the alternatives.
Eliot nods slowly to the suggestion.]
It would make sense to, but it has to be live human blood. I don't want to pressure the blood bank to connect me with a donor.
no subject
I think the blood bank would be happy to, it's kind of what they do. And unless it has to be taken against will, that's sort of the point of the place, yeah? And easier to store, no refrigeration, no filtration, and if nothing else, donations both ways goes a long way.
no subject
I'll give it another try, in any case. Both the synthetic blood and blood bank. I've thought about it, and it would really be a pain for me to go into hibernation. I need to pay rent.

Well, um. How do I phrase this... Human blood is my primary food source..? I'm a vampire.

[He can't be 100% sure. It's been 300 years, and he only remembers 10 months of it right now.]

I'm quite used to living half-starved, so it hardly bothers me anymore. I simply can't live fully starved. For very long.

video;
You are free to meet with me in Attleton at your leisure. I haven't any qualms providing you with what you need.
(
Probably.)no subject
Too easy. Eliot doesn't reply immediately, but just stares in confused silence.]
Oh. Well. That... Is a kind offer, miss... What can I offer in exchange?
no subject
( Hence her readiness to offer. She doesn't immediately distrust him, however, knows it can be rather problematic after a vampire has starved themselves for some time. )
Nothing at present. However, I might require a small favour of you in the future.
( She's one of those types, you see. )
no subject
[Eliot dismisses that concern. No one can be as cruel to him as Rip was.
So he nods, timidly. It seems like a fair offer: Blood and life are valuable to Eliot, so he can't imagine any favour he would not accept.]
I'm Eliot Durant. Wherever I meet you, it would be best if you stayed there a while. Some people get dizzy after I bite them.
Oh no...
You know Miss van Winkle? ( It leaves an uneasy feeling in her stomach. ) Has she hurt you, child?
( It's a very serious concern to her. She's been keeping her tabs on her, not one to leave a vampire from her own world unchecked, but to think she'd harm another vampire in some way is surprising in its own right.
But no, she most certainly is not like Rip van Winkle. )
no subject
Eliot pauses longer than he should. She certainly threatened him a lot when they first met. She threatened to kill him once, or twice, he's not sure. She knows to snap his neck now. It's the threat of Rip that forces Eliot to ask for blood, when he was normally content to live half starved and barely alive.
She's become kinder recently, true. He doesn't fear her in the same way that he used to... But there's still a cloud of dread that crops up whenever he considers wronging her.]
Yes, I do know her... She... I mean, she hasn't ever succeeded, so...
[Hopefully that kind of safe, neutral answer won't bring Rip knocking on his door.]
private; video
Please understand. Miss van Winkle is a vampire from my world-- one I have contended with before. You needn't hesitate to call upon me, should you find yourself against her. As a knight, I shall not turn you away.
( She's not about to bring up Rip's Nazi connections here, but the impulse is strong. )
As for the favour, think nothing of it. It sounds as if you've suffered enough.
private; video
He almost asks, opening his mouth as the questions form--- then shuts it. Rip goes through a lot of effort to prove she isn't the same anymore.]
No, you don't need to worry about that. I'll still fulfill your favour, when you think of it. I'm able to erase my memories. If she's done anything particularly awful, I would have forgotten it anyway.
She tries her best to be decent to me, so long as I'm fed.
Action
Hey... [She hasn't seen him in a while... might as well stop.] Chilly?
[Maybe a quick dose of angel Light exposure will help.]
no subject
He sighs in relief, nodding slowly.]
Mm... I forgot how it felt to be unfed. I'm so cold.
no subject
[She blinks, then looks toward the counter, waving a little in greeting as the barista... goes ahead and starts on her drink. Seems she stops in here quite often.
A smile of gratitude, and she's back to giving Eliot her full attention.] Do you mind if I join you? [Already her eyes are a slight step brighter as the Light in her blood gently rises. There's a careful hesitancy about it, as she's still not entirely sure how half the population in Genessia will respond to her Light, but there's definitely a physical warmth that rises with it, coaxing along the energy within... well. Anyone in the immediate area.] If you'd like a real fire, I don't mind...
[It's an almost sheepish half joke, but there is suddenly a small fire in the palm of her hand. Not that he would need it, if he doesn't react poorly to her Light.]
no subject
Oh. Uh. No, any... anything is fine. I'm sorry. I'm so tired. [He holds his head for a moment, sighing.] The human who gave me blood has left Genessia. I haven't had a drink in a month.
no subject
She sighs, concern and understanding making her shoulders sink.] Ah... I'm sorry to hear that. Isn't there a place in Everglade that sort of... keeps that kind of thing on hand, though? [Wouldn't Rip have told him that? Or...someone?] A month seems like an awfully long time...
no subject
[He feels bad, since she seemed concerned. Or maybe she's more confused.
Either way, he feels selfish with his answer.]
I drink blood.

no subject
[He quickly raises a hand, waving it dismissively.]
But I won't attack anyone. I promise, I'm a law abiding citizen none the less.
no subject
Ah, but I also did not wish to imply you would attack anyone. Will you be alright?
no subject
I'm sure I can be fine, yes. There are probably worse curses to have, anyway.
[Given her use of 'as well,' he worries she can relate.]
I hope the other curses you know of aren't the worse ones, though. Is everything alright on your end, as well?
no subject
Hmm? Oh, well, my curse isn't in effect here, but when I return, I will go back to being under my sleeping curse.
no subject
N-Not because of your curse, or contagions, more that... I'd hate to detract from you enjoying your time here. I'm sorry to hear about that.
no subject
But likewise, I could not in good faith let you starve.
video;
[Because she thinks that is exactly what this is about.]
no subject
[He's too tired to put up a fight... and even then, Eliot has come to trust Winry with his problems. Enough, at least, to answer honestly without making a fuss.]
Ms Enis is longer in Genessia, so... I've lost my food source. I'll be fine. If I find no reasonable offers, I can hibernate.
no subject
[She knows he isn't normal, but she didn't think he needed to hibernate because of it.]
no subject

As for fair trade, just people who volunteer would be considered fair.
Video
You are... Winry's friend...
no subject
Yes, I am! How are you feeling? Are you keeping warm, miss?
no subject
Lan Fan.
...
I do not know if I thanked you for trying to help me when I arrived.
How much would you offer? I'm all for anything money or of value.
I can offer mine's easily. Everglade is so...thirsty.
[Kii made a wierded out face, but hey-it was better than hanging around with humans]
