Dinner & Date Auction

Azura has been working hard for the past month or so, organizing and preparing for the date auction. This year, due to it still being cold outside the auction and pre-party are being held inside. However, Azura and the people she has hired have put forth great effort to make the indoor venue appear as though it is outside during the spring. Trees and plants real and fake all decorate the large room, pathways being carved out by laying out stone pebbles to create the feel of garden paths. Flowers and other similar decorations accompany the greenery, the flowers mostly in deep, passionate reds, oranges and a few purples here and there. In the back of the room, there is a long stage with a walkway, littered with petals and lights that twinkle in the mood-lit room. Candles are set up along each of the tables that have obviously been set up for dinner service.

There is a small donation box set up at the entrance of the event, for anyone who wishes to donate to the cause of fixing up the starter apartments but doesn't wish to actually participate on the bidding event.

Pre-Party

In order for attendees to meet each other as well as interact with those who have decided to put their dates up for auction, a pre-party has been arranged, with the focal point being a nice, relaxed atmosphere dinner and dance afterwards. Everything is themed to be enjoyed in pairs, so if you want to have dinner or step onto the dance floor you better be ready to do so with a partner.

Speaking of, once people arrive they are asked for their name. Upon discerning what their last name (or first, in the case of characters without last names) they are given one of 6 colored ribbon bracelets.

A-D get Green or Blue
E-I get Blue or Pink
J-M get Red or Orange
N-R get Orange or Purple
S-V get Purple or Red
W-Z get Pink or Green

Your pairs must include matching ribbons!

Mingle - The first step to meeting someone new is to talk to someone. This is what the ribbons are meant to do, of course. Maybe you notice someone with the same color ribbon as you are, and decide to strike up a conversation. It's also entirely possible that this whole ribbon idea seems foolish so of course that could be a topic as well. Those who decide to pair up with like-colored ribbons will be given a sheet of items to find (certain flowers, hidden marbles, dice, and other small objects) to look for as a sort of ice breaking scavenger hunt. Those who find a significant number can get free drinks!
Dinner Party - Orders are taken at the tables when people come to sit down, with the choices ranging from roast chicken, steak, and pork to more vegetarian friendly options that include a vegetable soup, tofu burgers and other assortments. Wine for adults and juice for those who are underage are offered, with water also being an option for those who don't like either. Remember, in order to partake you need to find someone with the same color ribbon as you!
Dancing - Throughout the night there's an assortment of music in style and tempo, and many attendees are already cutting a rug. At times there's even a dancing competition between two pairs to see who dances the best! It's all in good fun though, since there aren't really any prizes. Of course, attendees are required to dance with partners who have the same ribbon color as them! It's also encouraged to participate in the dances with someone you've yet to meet before.

Date Auction

After the dinner party and mingle, the auction gets under way! It's a classy affair, so anyone acting particularly out of control during the bidding is quietly ushered out to save them and everyone else the embarassment. During the bidding, bidders are to stay in their seats, using paddles to signal interest that they will be given once the time is right. Of course, since this is a charity, everyone is encouraged to be generous with their bids. All dates will start off at $100.00.Unfortunately for more shy bidders, there is no silent bid option. You're going to have to fight for those spectacular dates with everyone else!

Dates are up to players to organize, the dates will not be played out in this post.

"A "big buff burly dude" it seems, as left on his comment card! He enjoys keeping himself at his physical peak. Don't think he's unintelligent either! The man is a strategic genius to boot. Besides, who doesn't want to go out with an alien? Come on now!"

Date Experience: Date theme would probably me more athletic oriented with some sort of sparring session followed by some kind of visit to a sauna or spa or some shit to cool down followed by a private little picnic thing in whatever the hell we have that's similar to outskirt mountain/wastelands. (Bonus if full moon for ridiculous consensual king kong nonsense.)

"Bedivere is a knight who fits the classic "knight in shining armor" archetype. He's handsome, refined, intelligent, polite, and kindhearted, and would gladly show a woman a wonderful time. "

Date Experience: The theme would be "medieval." Bedivere would be sure to give his date a basic lesson on horseback riding, and take her for a ride with him on one of the horses in Fayren. Dinner would be at a Fayren high-class restaurant for a more authentic fantasy feel to their meal, and he would also arrange an interactive play where he must duel a rival to win her hand (though for this he might use Holodeck'd so that he can go all out if he so chooses; though it would still be perfectly safe).

"A former Deputy Guardian of Genessia City who suddenly has a lot more free time on her hands, and mainly uses said free time sword training in the Holodeck'd. (Someone needs to teach her how to do other things.) Wielding the sword with the grace of a princess has earned her the title of "Sword Princess." Open-minded and lovely, she's sure to give a pleasant experience to anyone who hangs out with her."

Date Experience: Karla would be best suited for a "medieval" style date, but she's most accustomed to living in Genessia City during her time here. She'd like a nice walk in the park, a nice dinner at a nice restaurant, and who knows? Perhaps she'd enjoy a movie as well. Really, she'll likely go along with anything her partner might suggest.

"A little devil who is an up and coming fashion designer and a recently discovered talent in the modelling and idol industry. He loves fashion, fun and all you people out there."

Date Experience: Kaoru will take his date somewhere to help them find their true fashion statement. Funds for a trip through 4 high end shops has been provided so that he can help you become more beautiful than a peacock could ever dream of! Afterwards there will be dinner at a burger joint followed up by a special handmade treat made by Kaoru at a local ice cream parlor! This is sure to be exciting!

"Mayu enjoys judo, drawing and taking naps. He's been in Genessia for over four years, so he's used to weirdness. He will put effort into what's important to him."

Date Experience:Remember what we said about judo? Mayu's going to take you for your very first lesson! After that, you'll both experience boxing lessons and finally enjoy a nice relaxing walk along the beach to cool down. After that, it's off for seafood at a small seafood diner that can't wait to show off their newest dish to the lovebirds!

"Our generous show runner, Azura, has decided to participate in tonight's auction!! Standing a little taller than your average young woman, Azura is a quiet and demure young lady who has found fame here in Genessia along with undertaking the title of Fayren's Guardian! Time is precious with this one, but sure to be an experience to remember!"

Date Experience: The date will start with a horseback trip into Fayren's forest where a picnic of home cooked food will be set up among the tall glowing shroomtrees that lay hidden deep within the forest. From there, a hike into the heights of the forest will end with berry picking to be used when they return to her home in Lakendell. There, a lesson in baking pies will be the main attraction, where the berries will be used for a personal touch. Afterwards, the date will end with a couple's massage and cleanse at her own business in Genessia. Platonic couples, of course.

Date Experience: Satou will start her date by creating her date's dream outfit from magic, then proceed to have a fairly girly, fairytale-type event: With a tea party lunch in a private garden, trip to a zoo, and ending the evening with a romantic picnic under the stars. Her date can be expected to have a magical time, as Satou's magic will add a literal sparkling touch to the activities.

Date Experience: Starting her with a bang by fighting side by side at Nova City's Holodeck and wreaking as much havoc as possible! Or if fighting isn't your speed, how about a few laps in the race track? Then finish up the night with a relaxing trip to the spa, and a healthy meal of hamburgers and steak with a huge helping of fries.

"Curiouser and curiouser! Alice Liddell is a little ball of curiosity, and by little, she's quite tiny at no more than 3'8". But don't let her size fool you! This sweet little miss would love to meet you and get to know you! Hopefully, you're up for a riddle or two and a million questions because she has all sorts for you."

Date Experience: Alice Liddell would like to invite you to a tea party in Fayren! There will be riddle games, tea she's brewed herself, and a very light lunch to be served in the comfort of a very beautiful garden! It's a wonderful chance to get to know a new friend and enjoy a nice lunch together!

Date Experience: A high end dinner at a classy restaurant, and some light monster fighting to end the evening on.

Date Experience: Uai will take his date on a trip to the nearest Aquarium, then rent a boat to sail around Fayren's waters. Sailing appears to be among his talents list, as he'll gladly teach his platonic date what he knows about sailing a boat. Ending the platonic date with a drink on the boat and then ditching you on the dock.

Date Experience: It will start at a decently priced restaurants or all you can eat where there is a vast selection of food to choose from and to judge over what best. rate them out of ten. It will end with a walk around Genessia at night.

"A tiny dragon who just recently turned three years old. She's blessed with the power of Light and healing, and an acute sense of curiosity."

Date Experience: Liora would like to explore new things, either in Fayren or in any other city. Then she'll demonstrate her magic, either outdoors or in the Holodeck'd. A picnic would follow, but be aware that Liora's diet consists strictly of insects.

"Guardian of Nova City, Ayame Sasaki is a woman from a proud lineage of samurai swordsmen. Cultured as she is lethal, elegant as she is kind, Ayame Sasaki is a mature lady with a taste for the finer things in life, and a match for those looking for a more luxurious time."

Date Experience: A trip to various subarchways where they get to experience the cultures of each country and world it leads to. One of them being a replica of a city in her homeworld.

"The angel of Love, Flonne here to give some hearts out. Flonne can be energetic and spacey, but that's because she's too busy looking for the goodness within you. She enjoys walks, flowers, and marathons of action and anime pack of super heroes and magical girls. A real nerd with JUSTICE. "

Date Experience: Never dated. <3 Mostly walks and anime marathons. Get the potato chips ready! [the auction master mumbles.] Ah yes, perhaps the young Flonne misunderstood..? Potato chips and movies does sound like a charming date!

"Camus is a popular idol from Japan, who's become a celebrity here in Genessia also. Handsome and polite, he'll show his date a great evening."

Date Experience: Dinner at a restaurant of his date's choice, followed by a walk through whatever city they choose. Most of it, the date can choose what they would like, Camus is willing to go along with what they would want.

"Red hair, gold eyes, and eager to meet you! Silicon is a citizen of a desert nation and eager to see the greener grass on the other side. She’s also very insistent that she isn’t an alchemist, so... there you go, folks!"

Date Experience: Everything. Silicon learned about “aquariums” and insists that you both visit. She will ask you a thousand questions about fish and water. She made a long list of fish and water related experiences to follow it up, including something called “sushi” and a “pet shop.” Expect a curiosity driven date with a high energy girl!

"This fire-wielding Deputy Guardian of Genessia City is looking to do his part to help out a good cause and hopefully have a little fun in the process."

Date Experience: Lea plans to go the classic route of lunch or dinner and a movie, followed by some time spent at Holodecked playing out an adventure or doing some other activity of his date's choice. The date would end with sharing ice cream together, because most of the best things in life involve ice cream, and if they don't, they should.

"Toshinori Yagi is a retired civil servant and a simple man with simple tastes. This gentle giant still takes an active role in the community, volunteering time for children's charities. He enjoys movies old and new alike as well as classic rock and roll."

Date Experience: Dinner at a high end burger place and a movie, followed by bowling.

"Are you looking for your Prince Charming? You may not have to look any further! Takumi is a Prince of the Kingdom of Hoshido and wielder of the mighty divine bow, Fuujin Yumi! Don't let his prickly exterior fool you - he has a beating heart of a warrior and a family man!"

Date Experience: Chances are the date will include a trip to an archery range, then where-ever his date wants to go to, followed by a picnic under a sakura tree.

"Fayren's most noted healer and second most noted big sister figure, Konoka is a cheerful and sometimes playful young woman is always ready to lend a helping hand and give good advice. Has quite the impishness and knows how to have fun."

Date Experience: Konoka will show up dolled in a pretty dress and will start slow with a nice, scenic walk through either Fayren's safer nature areas or picnic area in Attleton... your choice! This is followed by a picnic with specially prepared bentos made by Konoka herself. But that's before something inevitably goes wrong (or goes "wrong") and the two of you need to make a daring escape. But don't worry, Konoka's more prepared and more likely to have fun with this than she looks!

"An old soul that enjoys public service and swordplay, and was recently elected as mayor of Genessia. Roland has cleared some time out of his schedule for the sake of charity... and maybe making a new friend? Perhaps not the most exciting person to spend time with, but he's a gentleman that knows how to treat a date."

Date Experience: A trip to Nova City Museum, then back to Genessia for a dinner at an upscale restaurant. Finally, a play at Genessia Center Arts Theatre to finish up the night.

"Kiritsugu is a man dedicated to the principles of heroism and justice. He is a doting father and family man (albeit, a little impish) ready to have some fun!!"

Date Experience: Starting with generous sampling of the McDonalds menu, this date will transition to a thoughtful trip to the Genessia library. After sunset, the date will end at the beach for some nighttime snorkling.

1. Mingling

[A bundle of giggles and smiles, Silicon skips in wearing... nothing fancy. She missed that memo. She's missed a lot of memos, actually. At the very least, she receives her red ribbon and ties it around her wrist, then immediately walks over to some of the living plantlife.

Silly kneels down in front of some of the flowers, carefully leaning in to sniff them.]

I've never seen flowers like you before...! I wonder if you're toxic...? [someone should intervene, before Silly proceeds with SCIENCE.]

2. Dinner Party

[Silly has been having a fantastic time thus far. When she finally decides that she's hungry, Silicon reaches for the nearest person with a red ribbon. Not to grab them, but to tap their ribbon to get their attention.]

Hey. Are you hungry yet?

3. Dancing

[Now Silicon is beginning to feel kind of, well, Silly. Her huge green coat isn't very good for dancing in, and she doesn't know where to set it down either. The pockets are surprisingly heavy, as Silly is always carrying potions and vials of medicine with her.

Still, she begins taking it off and folds it over her arm. After glancing at the wallflowers, she approaches someone who is sitting down.]

Do you mind if I put this under your chair for a while? The vials won't break if you kick them or anything.
