[Grocery Shopping]

[Lan Fan is not a good cook by any stretch of the imagination. When most young women would have been learning such skills she was going through grueling training to take her place as a retainer for the Yao royal guard. BUT she does cook well enough to NOT DIE when it’s necessary. It isn’t exactly necessary at this moment, but she is in the mood for some traditional Xingese food and considering she was fairly certain she was the only Xingese person in all five cities there was only one way she was going to get it Xingese food.]

[SO there is a one-armed Asian-looking girl pushing a cart through the grocery store eyeing the produce with suspicion while trying to decide what may or may not actually be in the dishes she wants to make. Is this a disaster in the making? Yes. Yes it is.]

Excuse me, are there bamboo shoots here somewhere?


[Clothes shopping]

[Something else that was long overdo was clothing. She’d been mooching off of Winry for too long, and although Master Ling had no problem doing so indefinitely she couldn’t bring herself to continue considering the extent of everything Winry was doing for her. So for one thing, she needed to get her own damn clothes because she could neither keep wearing the same thing every day nor keep stealing Winry’s.]

[Of course there was also the part where she’d never really shopped for clothes before. That was one ‘perk’… if you wanted to call it that… of her position. All of her clothing had been provided for her since she was a child.]

[And so here she is, standing in the middle of a clothing store and looking just about as clueless as a person can possibly look.]


[Training]

[It’s been far too long since she’s trained in any way, trying to respect Dr. Knox’s orders for recovery and then Winry’s decrees for surgery preparations. BUT DAMN IT, IT’S BEEN NEARLY TWO MONTHS SINCE HER AMPUTATION AND SHE CAN TELLS HE’S GETTING SOFT—and not only that, there was just the fact that she needed to get used to the intricacies of fighting without her arm anyway.]

[So is Lan Fan out in the park in middle of winter doing katas with one arm?]

[Yes. Yes she is.]




[ooc; Kind of dropped the ball with Lan Fan between holidays and personal stuff and meant to do this in DECEMBER oops. Can't backdate that far, but maybe for earlier in January. Being very general as far as WHERE any of this is taking place, but it’s most likely Genessia or Nova or wherever.]

[Speaking of disasters, who else should be there but a clown? He eyes a sale and does some napkin-mental-math before smiling at the inquiry. His eyes catch a glint of a necklace, and light up a little more for the joy of talking to one real.]

Yes, I believe so in the asian cuisine aisle. I can show you, if you'd like. Say, did you hear about the violent panda bear at the restaurant the other day?

[Whether Rin is only looking around or actually shopping here for herself is a mystery, possibly a combination of both too for the most part.

But then she almost literally bumps into the cute girl standing there.]

Hey, don't just -- [Rin sees the look on the other girl's face. ...Huh?] What? Never been to a store like this before?

[It's more like a joke but also the first thing that comes to mind from how clueless she looks combined with how people come here from all sorts of places. Rin on the other hand looks exactly like she knows what she is doing here and with her usual style of twintails, red shirt and black skirt too.]

[The Prince's job was consuming more of his time along with his family, however now was his day off and time for some training to get his mind off of things. Things were still so strange here that finding normalcy in training brought him back to life.

In his area, he spotted a young woman resembling a ninja training. Ryoma approached noticing she only had one arm. He commented when near enough with an impressed smile]

You're very impressive if you can do all that with just one arm. I would be afraid to see you with both arms.

[ Rudy was out on patrol when he noticed Lan Fan there. He also noticed that she only had one arm, and without thinking he squeezed his left arm. That...incident was much too fresh in his memory for him to feel comfortable talking about it; maybe it was the same for her. Couldn't he just not call attention to it?]

Aren’t you cold?

[ He certainly was, on top of bundling up maybe a touch more than the average person. ]
