You know, zhis isn't my favorite holiday.

[For once her apartment wasn't decorated to reflect the holiday. Instead, Rip's sitting on her couch with a hot cup of something in her hands as she gazed into it. She even had a blanket on her lap, covering her legs.

Rip takes a moment before she takes a sip of her drink and frowns into the hot liquid as her Swoobat cuddled up to her. ]

Halloween und Christmas are my two favorite holidays. Zhis one never really meant much to me ozher zhan an over abundance of annoying candy I cannot eat und overly sappy gestures. But, at least zhere are no annoying living teddy bears looking for attention, glitterbombs or festivals.

[She sighed and pulled the blanket tighter against her.]

I vill just be happy if zhis holiday passes vithout incident.

[Namur walks in mid broadcast with a giant bouquet and a sappy card. He stops dead in his tracks and hurriedly hides it all behind his back. Totally not suspicious. Nope, not him. He waits until she's finished before he speaks up, trying to angle himself out of the doorway towards the garbage without turning away from her.]

Oh. Hey babe! How's shit on the network? Anythin' juicy t'day?

[Slow steps to the side are a go.]

[She'd noticed the sound of him entering and the scent of flowers when he entered and didn't seem to react until after her broadcast. Then she rolled her eyes and sighed with a slight smile.]

Boring und I can smell zhe flowers, Namur. You may as vell bring zhem here.

[She sets her device aside and settles her swoobat in her lap to cuddle.]

[Busted, shit.]

Mmmmaybe they ain't yers. Maybe they's for Rowan. Wouldn't wanna get none a this sap on y' or nothin'.

[Still edging to the side, but his ears are bright pink because he's totally bluffing.]

If zhey vere for Rowan, you vould haf brought zhem to her.

[She shakes her head and then motions for him to come over.]

You know I love our 'sappy' moments right? I'm just not keen on zhis holiday, zhat's all.

[Namur sighs, defeated, and gives up trying to hide the bouquet. He strides over to sit next to Rip, pulling her into a big hug and dropping the flowers in her lap.]

Any particular reason why? Or y' jus' bein' edgy or some shit?

[She leans against him and picks up the flowers that were put in her lap to smell then and smiles a little.]

Vell, for zhe last several years, veird zhings alvays happened on Valentine's day.

[She sighed.]

Lets just say zome of zhe events haf left a bad taste in my mouth about zhis holiday despite hafing a vonderful boyfriend to spend it vith.

[Namur cocks his head to the side, trying to think if he's been subjected to any Valentine's Day tomfoolery, but everything sort of blends together and he can't remember.]

Oh yeah? Weird like what?

Vell, teddy bears zhat followed you around und hug you relentlessly happened one year. Zo did being buried under a mountain of candy vhich.. I cannot eat.

[She rolled her eyes slightly.]

Being glitter bombed one year vhich took me forever to get out of my living space at zhe time und my hair. ...Und being killed und left under zhe ice for a veek. Zhose come to mind vhen I zhink about Valentine's Day.

Lord a the Sea...

Well I got great news for y' Babe. This year's gonna be borin' as hell. 'Cept for the sex.

[He winks.]

[She laughed and relaxed against him.]

Vell, zhat does sound better zhan zhe previous years~.

[Namur gets an idea, and moves the flowers off to the side so he can straddle her. A living breathing mate is a hell of a lot better than dead plant ovaries any day, right? He has to curl his torso so he can continue to talk to her, but he takes her hands in his and drapes them behind her head.]

Mean, I don't intend for us t' jus' sit 'round doin' shitall, but 's gonna be kinda hard t' top gettin' buried under candy mountain or gettin' brutally murdered an' shit.

[She's curious when he moves the flowers off her lap. By the time he's settled on top of her, Rip's relaxed and grinning as he curls down to talk to her. Even her hands behind her head didn't bother her since she loved and trusted him so much.

So yes, a living breathing mate was much, much better than the random chaos she was used to this time of year.]

I zhink if you put your mind to it, you can top zhe strangeness of zhe last several years quite nicely... perhaps, even give me a reason to like zhis holiday again.

[With a smirk, Namur straightens up a little bit and reaches for her phone, then slips it into her hand.]

Find me somethin' with a good beat then. Somethin' that makes y' wanna move.

[He emphasizes the word move with a slow, deep grind against her thighs.]

Make y' forget all that other shit y' been through for awhile, how's that sound?

[She takes her phone and nods slightly as she starts scrolling through her playlists until she pauses at a particular song and glances up at him, smiles a little more and then puts it on.

With the first few beats Rip's already wanting to move herself...]

[It doesn't have quite as heavy a beat as he would've liked, but he can make it work. Namur takes her hands in his once again and presses them up against his torso, then guides them up over his chest as he curls himself in. He whispers the words as he goes, eyes locked on hers.]

The stars come out
And all that counts

My universe
Will never be the same...

[In the short pause between lyrics, he lifts her hands to his mouth and kisses them, then guides them around his neck as he continues leaning in until he's nose to nose.]

I'm glad you came...

[Namur gives her bottom lip a gentle bite, letting it settle in to a kiss as the singer's voice echoes. When the dance beat begins in earnest he breaks the kiss and grins at her for a measure, then starts dancing right there in Rip's lap, bumping and grinding with his hips. He moves fluidly, body flowing from one beat to another, sometimes leaning down so she can caress his shoulders and chest, other times stretching himself out to show off his height and physique. When the lyrics start up again, he continues lip syncing.]

[He pulls Rip close, running his hands over her back, but also helping her to sit up a little straighter as he slowly eases back, out of her lap and onto his feet.]

Now I'll take you by the hand

[Which he does! And guides her into a spin as he wraps his arm around her, pulling himself flush against her back so he can grind against her ass as he moves. He rubs his hands up and down her body with the music.]

[Here he spins her around to face him again, so he can look at her as he pushes her back onto the couch and mouth the words.]

[Namur puts his hands to either side of her hips and eases himself down in a pseudo- pushup, sliding his body just inches above hers as the lyrics begin repeating.]

[Rip relaxed beneath him with a smile on her lips as he took her hands to guide them to his torso. Encouraging her to touch wasn't hard as her hands slid over him, up his chest to rest around his neck where her fingers gently start playing with his hair as she hears the words being whispered to her as they lock eyes.

A thrill runs down her spine just from hearing him whisper the words to her even if its just a song. To Rip it felt like much more. Her breath hitched as he kissed her hands and the rest of the world fell away as he leaned in. The music kept going and her entire universe consisted of just him as he captures her in a brief kiss.

Once the beat started up in earnest, she had a lap full of a sight she would never forget and cherish for the rest of her existence. Hands roamed as he moved, caressing his shoulders and chest just to admire the muscles moving as he danced on her lap.

Before she knew it, he had her sitting up a little straighter and slipped from her lap to offer his hand just as the lyrics came up. Rip took it without hesitation, letting him guide her into a spin that ended up with her back pressed against him. The feel of his hands moving on her body and him grinding against her stole her breath away, drawing out a soft moan as she moved with him.

Another spin and she was facing him, her cheeks a little flushed as he pushes her back on the couch which she gracefully falls into as he slides his body above hers. For a moment, she's gazing up at him with love and adoration in her eyes mixed with a nice little amount of lust.

Moments like this were reasons why she absolutely loves him. She manages to close the distance between them quickly for a brief, passionate kiss as the lyrics repeated for a bit.

Not to worry, Sakuya showed my how to make blood-filled chocolate. Perhaps that would be more to your liking?

[That definitely got her attention.]

Really? I'd love to sample zhem.

Of course. I'll bring some over.

[ And a short while later, guess who shows up at Rip's room door? ]

[When she shows up, Rip's happy and eager to answer the door. She's curious about the chocolates and can't wait to try them.]

Come in~. Zhe apartment isn't much compared to father's castle but, it's definitely home.

[ She smiles, handing her a box of the chocolates. ]

Hm, looks cosy. Perhaps a little small for my tastes.

[She eagerly takes the chocolates and invites her in.]

Cozy vorks for me. Besides, it's easier to defend if I need to.

[ Remi is happy to come in and make herself at home. ]

Sakuya can't be everywhere at once, I suppose.

Exactly~. Being on zhe fourth floor means zhere are three ozher floors zhey haf to get through before here. Zhe balcony is easy to defend und zhe roof can be booby trapped if needed.

[Rip might have put thought into how to defend her apartment at one point just for the hell of it.]

Besides, az much as I love our fazher, I'm not too interested in being kept at zhe castle for my own safety.

He's still being quiet? Thankfully, he need not be alone. Flandre and Sakuya call it their home, as do I.

I admit I had no idea such a holiday existed, but I was wondering why there was suddenly a lot of chocolate around and why I was getting a lot of requests for such.

Though why is it you can't eat candy?

Oh? Vell, zhen.. I suppose zhis place isn't a bad introduction to zhe holiday at least.

I'm a vampire. Unless zhe chocolates are specially made vith blood I can't eat it.

I'm sorry to hear that.

But you eat blood? Any kind in particular or any type? [She paused for a moment.] I'm sorry for asking such rude questions, but it's something new and I am curious.

It's fine, I'm used to zhe questions.

Usually? Human, but, I can haf animal blood as vell. It's just less filling. I usually get my blood from zhe bloodbanks vhere people haf villingly donated it. Ozhervise? It's zhe artificial blood from Torchvood's eateries on occassion for additional flavors.

[ Bombs he was quite familiar with. Glitter not so much, but he still knew what it was. Glitterbombs though? He could only imagine what those were supposed to be like. ]

[She sighed.]

Annoying sparkly pieces of confetti zhat you can shove in a box or zomething und vhen it's opened it launches at you. It gets everyvhere und is near impossible to clean up completely.

[Guess who? It's your grouchier son!

Eliot knows he switched personalities so that he could spend today reflecting on the loves he's missing. It's a miserable process, and he isn't afraid to look absolutely upset.]

Leave the humans be. Their lives are so short, so most of them will only experience "true" love once.

And glitter bombs are fun.

[Hell grouchier son. It's been awhile.]

I vasn't telling zhem to celebrate. I vas only mentioning vhy I don't like zhis holiday. Zhough, I suppose Auggie und Namur might not appreciate my dislike for zhis.. sappy candy fest.

Und glitter bombs vere fun until I got enough of zhem to nearly flood an entire theater vith glitter one year.

You're still too young to be so disillusioned with Valentines Day. You haven't had much time to experience true love either, young lady.

[He's apparently not afraid to bring up their age difference today.

This is not the secret to a long life.]

Be grateful they were only glitter bombs, then.

Trust me, I am. But I can still gripe about zhe cleaning I had to do aftervards.

[Eliot is pretty done with the idea. After going through so many "true loves," he's not a believer in it anymore.

The way he sees it, Rip is still a child who believes in the "Santa Claus" of Valentines Day.]

Zhe holiday vas ruined for me zhe year a friend of mine took me out on a date und ended vith me hafing my heart torn out und under a frozen lake for a veek.

Like he would remember losing anything. If you make him upset, he'll just pocketwatch it away.

[He's also aware that his other self doesn't hold grudges, but erases them. That's why 'this' Eliot exists.]

You don't do things normally, do you?

Put that out of your head, then. If you hold on to the past, you become like me. Be more like the pink Eliot.

[Pause]

...I don't zhink even a magical pocket vatch could help me be like your ozher half.

[He shakes his head,]

You know what I mean. I don't expect for everyone to become stupid and airheaded versions of themselves.

But if you're going to live a longer life than most, then you'll hold negative experiences longer than most. Try not to make your long life miserable, or you'll die halfway through it.

[She rolls her eyes slightly.]

I vould zhink zhat I'm doing admirable making my long life a good one so far. I just haf zhis one little issue... It's only been vat, a year? For me since it happened. Or something like zhat.
