Scrapping With Scrap
WHO: Blake Belladonna, Sailor Mars, Dr. Wily's Robots
WHAT: Raye's visit to Everglade is rudely interrupted by killer robots. Sailor Mars takes them on with a little help from a new friend.
WHEN: December 19th, 2013
WHERE: Everglade
Flames scorched the tips of the frosted grass, and there was a heavy metal crunch as another charred robot hit the ground. Sailor Mars grit her teeth, black hair swinging as she spun around to catch a would-be mechanical backstabber.
"MARS FIRE IGNITE!"
This made no sense. Where had these things come from?! This place was famous for spooks and monsters, not robot assassins. The most annoying part of all was that, in being robots, she hadn't been able to sense their vibes at all when they'd ambushed her. All she'd wanted was to pay a visit to Harry's office and see if she couldn't wait out the nasty weather in one of the sub-cities. She hadn't bothered to tell Harry she was actually coming, and now she wished she had. He'd realize she was late, if that were the case.
No soonger did the flames leave her fingers than she felt something hard slam into the small of her back. "AH!" Sailor Mars yelped, thrown off her feet and tumbling across the ground. She pushed herself up to her hands and knees, glowering. "You're going to pay for that...!"
And so would whoever it was that sent these things to Everglade in the first place!

Which is what brought the platoon of Sniper Joes and Metalls to Everglade today. Raye just had the terrible luck of being around where they decided to launch their assault.
The machines themselves aren't the most advanced things Wily had ever created, but what they lacked in power they made up for in numbers.
The Sniper Joe that had attacked Raye from behind aimed it's cannon arm in her direction and let a laser blast loose in her direction. It's single red eye glowing bright as it fired.

Not that things could really be called "normal" in Everglade but at least the zombie attacks had tapered off so hopefully they would at least be peaceful.
And then she catches the sound of gunfire nearby. So much for that.
It wasn't hard to follow the sounds of combat, and she paused for only a moment, glancing at the girl on the ground and then up at the robot aiming another shot her way. It wouldn't get the chance though, as Blake suddenly appeared beside it, bringing down Gambol Shroud's heavy blade on its arm with a sharp cry and cutting the cannon free. Still moving with her momentum, she separated the blades and two more slashes flashed through the air as she cut the robot to bits.
Keep moving, don't let them get a shot.
She dashed forward, leaving an image behind to draw any fire coming her way for the moment and to hopefully give the girl in red the time to get back on her feet.

No sense in lying there gawking like an idiot. She gritted her teeth and pushed herself up to her feet. "Thanks, whoever you are," she said, drawing a small stack of ofudas from her costume.
Robots were tricky. With no vibes to speak of, she couldn't necessarily whether they were evil or just programmed to carry out a task. But if they had any evil to speak of, then her evil-sealing charms might do the trick.
"Mars Fireball Charge!" she shouted, discharging her spiritual powers to fill the strips of paper with holy energy. She vaulted into the air, throwing her arms wide in an attempt to slap an ofuda onto the metallic forehead of their assembled antagonists.

With one destroyed, nine of the machines gathered up into a defensive formation with their shields raised up to block another incoming attack.
The remaining machines kept their weapons focused on Blake for the moment. A number of them focused their fire on the after image she left behind. Two of them caught her movements on their sensors though, they raised their arm cannons in her direction and opened fire.
Unfortunately for Raye, the ofuda has no effect on the machine. It's just programmed to complete a task. It'll raise it's shield up and try to smack her away with it.

She jumps over an energy bullet and spins in midair to deflect another off the heavy blade of Gambol Shroud's sheath and converts the short sword to its scythe mode. With a yell and a bang she throws it over the assembled snipers' heads, apparently missing by a mile. Then she lands on the ground and pulls sharply, a second bang ringing out behind the Joe's and Gambol Shroud comes spinning back into the defensive line from behind.
From the corner of her eye she sees the swing at the other girl, but there's nothing she can do right now. She needs to do something about this fire coming her way before she can close in and back her up.

"Darn it...!" she growled under her breath as she watched the strips of paper peel off and slide to the ground. There was no evil to be sealed; she'd kind of hoped that maybe they'd been imbued with some sort of dark energy, but no such luck. She made a three-point landing, but snapped her head around at the sound of gunfire. Were they shooting at that girl?!
To her relief, it seemed her mysterious ally was more than holding her own against these robots. That was good. Sailor Mars jumped back, twice, to give herself enough room to concentrate.
"Mars...celestial fire...!"
Her finger traced a wide circle in the air, leaving bright, glowing kanji in its wake that slowly orbited the sailor scout. She pressed her hands together, then threw them apart.
"SURROUND!"
The kanji spun fast and hot, multitudes of bright glowing discs slicing at the enemies before her. See how they liked a taste of that!

The machine that had it's attention on Sailor Mars at the moment tried to block the numerous rings of fire with its shield. While it managed to withstand a few shots it couldn't keep up and was soon as good as scrap.
In the distance there's a loud rumbling getting closer. ...It almost sounds like a tank.

Her dodging only lasted a few moments though, just long enough for her to pinpoint where each of the robots were, before she strikes back. Soon, the images are mixed in with muzzle flashes as she begins returning fire at the androids.
Gambol Shroud may not have been as powerful a firearm as Crescent Rose or Ember Celicia, but she doubted these things could take more than a few shots from it each.

Hearing the increased sound of gunfire, she whirled around to see the black-haired girl leaping and dodging with an acrobat's grace, trying to avoid the sprays of bullets while lashing out with a weapon Mars had never seen before.
Tch! Cowardly robots, ganging up on her like that. Sailor Mars pulled her hands back, gathering her fiery energy. "Hey you!" she shouted. "Heads up, incoming!" A shame she didn't actually know the girl's name, but introductions could wait. For now, she was hurling her flames at the ring of Joes to make an opening for Blake.
