Have you seen those things in the street? I'm certain that I saw some sort of monster drag a woman off the street. I tried to follow, but I only found a high heeled show in the alleyway. Was I dreaming?

There are a lot of people here who fight monsters back home, right?

Can you do anything? Have any of you fought monsters that strike so quietly?

Please. Someone tell me you have experience. I'm scared, and I don't trust the Guardians. I wasn't here to vote for them. Can they really fight monsters?

I thought I was crazy! I saw one in Fayren!

It had scales like armor and moved really quietly! It didn't attack anyone, but the way that it looked at me made me feel like it would.

There was one of those idiot heroes going on how he was fighting dragons the other day.

I bet it was a dragon that didn't want to get pushed around.

It would serve the idiot right, but the people don't deserve to get caught up in his stupidity.

But aren't heroes supposed to keep us safe? What can we do?

Honestly, rather than thinking somebody is going to come rescue you, you need to be careful and take care of yourself. You're better off pairing up with other people. Go in big groups and the scary things are less likely to attack. Go out in the daytime because most monsters I've seen hunt at night, when visibility is in their favor.

Just be careful and hopefully whatever this thing is decides they can hunt for easier prey elsewhere.

In my experience the Guardians aren't any more competent than anyone else when it comes to surprises like that. Less than the bounty hunters, certainly. That said, yes, I've experience. Had to put down a pair of giant squids and their sewer-dwelling brood. Had no little trouble with an undead wyvern too. Altogether, both problems were neatly solved with no lasting turmoil to speak of, as is Genessia's wont.

Yes; nine times out of ten, people only encounter them because they look for them, and the universe obliges. And there are some who bear the name "monster" which defy the connotation of the word. A good monster, in other words, like the kind you'd see on children's television.

So I wouldn't worry. Unprovoked attacks upon the unsuspecting and incurious are rare as being thunderstruck.

I would say most of us have experience with fighting monsters by now. But is there a particular reason you don't trust the Guardians?

I did not vote for them, so I do not know much about them.

All I know is that they didn't prevent this monster from hurting someone...

More than likely, the Guardians are either unaware that these new monsters are active, or are consumed with other things. I know one recent arrival has them concerned...

I would suggest reporting this monster to the Guardians. The sooner they know about it, the sooner they can deal with it.

What are these so-called heroes doing except pick fights?

I think it would be safer for people that don't have a way to protect themselves should lay low and go out only during the day.

Cloak and Dagger should also have a powder or something that might help scare off something and give folks the chance to run away.

I 100% guarantee you that it was self appointed
they also like to make sure they get under foot of the guardians
and then criticize said guardians in the same breath when they're the ones getting in the way lolol

oh those sorts of dipshits have been around for ages
but it is a recent thing with how much the word "hero" has been getting thrown around
some glory hounds at least have the decency to not call themselves heroes but they're just as bad

and nope! guardians are the ones that actually protect people
and they get voted into their position by the populace after some boring debate thing
if one isn't doing their job they can be ousted (or maybe there's a mutiny with the deputies idk)
so they are way more tolerable
at least most of them do what they're supposed to anyway

Hmm, I cannot be in two places at once, but I have been to Everglade. If someone needs to be protected I'd be more than happy to do that.

Do we really need to fight monsters? They need to eat to.

They can be like the rest of us, and acquire food from licensed sources.

But then you are taking away their dignity and a part of who they are.

Trying to make people fit your standards when in theirs it might be the norm. This is something that bothers me honestly about the world. All the supposed good guys enforcing their bullshit views on others and not letting vampires be actual vampires or werewolves be themselves. As gross as both are, even I know they should be who they are.

I haven't seen anything like that. But if monsters are showing up, I'm ready to fight! My companions - my friends and I faced all sorts of monsters in my home world, and even fought darkness itself. A couple of stray beasts don't scare me!

If you can't fight, you should avoid going out alone.
