This is probably an odd question, but does anyone have any ideas for celebrating a birthday without letting people know it's my birthday? It's been over a decade since I've celebrated. Haven't really been in a situation where I could celebrate. Now I kind of want to, but...just by myself. Nothing against the people I care for, but I don't think I'm comfortable with sharing day just yet.
I'd like it to be mine, selfish as that sounds.

Treat yourself to something you don't normally get to do any other day.
Go so a movie. Have a fancy dinner at the restaurant. Stop by the bakery and purchase a small cake and eat it while watching television on the couch.
Something like that maybe.
Re: text
Those all sound amazing, honestly. Thank you. Are any of these what you do on your birthday?

Although back home, my brother would usually join me in at least the watching television part. I used to joke he was just there for the cake.

Can't blame him. I'm not really one for sweets, but a good cake is a good cake.

[Takeru and Yamato, for example, though time seemed to have mended that relationship.]
If you don't like cake, you could always have something else. Something you really do like.

Sometimes, I find attention overwhelming. And I haven't really done anything for my birthday in years, so I feel like easing back into it on my terms. Know what I mean?

But I think I get what you mean. Esepcially if it's something you haven't done in a long time.
