Bond 19 [Video] Class Announcement

[As the video starts, you can see the Pokemon Professor himself in his lab coat standing in front of the camera.]

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I used the network.

I'm here to tell you that I'm planning to put up a class on the introduction on Pokemon at the Attleton University next week on Monday, March 11.

We've been getting some new residents lately and I think it would be a good time to give you basic details on what these creatures are.

If you have any questions, just contact me through the network.

[EDIT: As the mods reminded me, the class will be delayed to March 18 due to the initial date conflicting to the Nightmare event (which I won't be participating with my characters). Any mention of the date will be retconned to that said date.]

I do have a question, a particular something I try to do for my Pokemon regularly, only for one to be a source of vexation for me.

How do you properly bathe a Ghost-type?

[Wow... Now that's one question he somehow can't answer... But he did read something like this in one of Pokemon Care Monthly magazines from the cafe he visited.]

To tell you the truth, it's not that easy to do so. Due to their intangibility, it is very hard to clean their body. However, if you calm it down and build their trust, they may turn themselves solid.

Why do you ask?

It's my Mismagius, Phantasma. She likes to get the other pokemon dirty, and she keeps going intangible, or even invisible, when I try to get her in the kiddy pool.

[Mismagius has routinely been Anastasia's most difficult pokemon, rarely behaving.]

To put it bluntly, she's a bit of a brat.

[Speaking of, a Mismagius fades into sight right behind Anastasia. It heard that!]

Ah, I see.

[So it is a behavioral problem. Despite that Anastasia has months of experience with Pokemon now, there are times that some Pokemon can be a handful for their own petty reasons.]

Did you try everything to control her behavior? Like scolding her for her actions?

[She nods.]

I have. She either uses some form of magic to make me forget or decides to comply for awhile. Or just pretends to comply.

Well, she was called a Magical Pokemon for a reason. Mismagius has an ability to cast illusions and hallucinations to her victims. Not to mention that she has a mischievous behavior that other Ghost-type Pokemon have.

For now, just let her do her own thing and ignore her pranks for a while. If she continues to be a handful to you, just contact me.

I'll give it to Phantasma. She is probably the smartest of my Pokemon. The others act with fluidity, but Phantasma acts with purpose and intent...

...So this class you mention. You said it's on Monday?

Yes. It's free of admission if you like to refresh your memory on the basics. I don't know if that Pokemon phenomenon may return again this year, but I feel this class should be a way to prepare for it very soon.

A what now?

Pokemon. They are supernatural creatures that came from my world wielding special abilities and powers.

Some of the residents like myself owned these powerful creatures. As for me, I researched them back home, mostly on their special type of phenomenon called Mega Evolution.

The way you described it, it sounds like you brought a small epidemic here in Genessia.

[A hand raises to her eye and she shakes her head.]

So, what? They're dangerous? And just how likely would I run into one?

[Well, it's not really his fault per say.]

Actually, this Pokemon phenomenon occurred before I even arrived here. And not all of them are dangerous. Unless they were provoked, they wouldn't harm anyone without a reason.

As for how you can encounter them, it's not that easy.

Makes sense, but that's not exactly a making the sell of a class on them that appealing.

Why learn about creatures I'm not going to run into very often?

Because most of the residents in Genessia owned these creatures as pets and partners and I want some new residents to get to know them without being mistaken by monsters that you usually encounter back in their homes.

Besides, I just want to prepare all of you from these future Pokemon phenomona that may come this year, I think...

--let me guess, you're going to train us how to fight them and bring them down, right?

[She conveniently skips over that part where they are pets and partners. Blame the fight-crazy kids that have been all the rage lately.]

[Wow, that was very direct of her interrupting his explanation.]

U-Um... Yes. But you can't just bring them down like that. You can capture them and train them as partners.

It's not all about defeating them with your weapons all the time.

Oh, I'm sure. And when you train them you can use them to bring down other these other, what did you call them? Por qué mon?

I swear the longer I stay in this place the more I'm starting to wonder if this is some kind of dimension that's preparing people to fight for some grand, apocalyptic final showdown.

Po-ke-mon.

And I doubt it. Most of the time, Genessia is very peaceful and there are no signs of any kind of apocalyptic incident every day.

Try telling that to the folks that are living here.

[She sighs, her shoulders following with it.]

...well, I guess you're at least trying to understand these "Pokemon". Even if you're teaching folks to fight them, I shouldn't turn down a chance to learn something new about this place.

Do I need to register or anything?

Don't worry about it. Admission is free and I can add you in the class roster if you like.

The University, right?

Eh, whatever. Just put down the reservation for one Psycho Shark. That's good enough.

[At least she's on board with the class. Though he wondered why she called herself a "Psycho Shark".]

Um... Do you have a name? I don't know if I call you "Psycho Shark" more often.

[She rolls her eyes and grumbles.]

[Rapunzel turned her head slightly. She was looking over her own Pokemon for a moment.]

I will make sure to come to the class if I have the time. I still have a lot to learn about them after all.

I'm glad you're interested to learn more about these creatures. Admission is free for everyone and you're free to bring your own Pokemon if you have one already.

I figured I would need to considering I have three of my own. So if I know as much as I can I can look after them to the best of my ability.

Three of them? I'm impressed.

You could say that. Considering that most of the residents are unaware of the Pokemon's existence, I would say that I'm surprised you manage to handle three of them at once.

I wouldn't say handle 100% of the time. Sometimes they can be a bit of a handful.

I've lost some art supplies because they've got into them for example.

Oh... I see. I do agree that most of them can be a handful.

What Pokemon do you own then?

Munna, Vaporeon and Jigglypuff are the Pokemon friends I have made.

I see and I can guess that one of them is a troublemaker, correct?

They can be well behaved sometimes, but actually, all of them have their naughty moments.

Pokémon? Are they like Dream Eaters? Creatures who come to your aid?

You could say that. Most of the trainers back in my world keep them as pets or partners in their journey. They mostly train them for Pokemon battles to become a Pokemon champion.

Hmm... that sounds a bit same. Although as far as I know only me, Riku and a few others can use Dream Eaters.

Can I come to the introduction? I'm Sora!

Well, I don't know much about these "Dream Eaters" you've mentioned, but I assure you that everyone can have a Pokemon and train them.

[Sycamore nods to Sora's next question.]

I can actually summon one and show you sometime! In return for teaching about these Pokemon... I know you said free, but I want to do that.
