a devil's arrival ( action )

a heartwarming family reunion? ( dante )
[ He doesn't recall the moment in which he fell into this slumber but when he slowly begins to stir from it, he is left feeling groggy and tired. How long has he slept like this and why hasn't Dante woke him with a forceful shake or a toss of something at his face sooner? But it's the sound of water lapping against the sides of the "pod" which slowly brings an air of concern to the eldest son of Sparda; this is not part of the Underworld.

He groans, pushing himself to sit and drop out of the pod, boots splashing into the shallow pool of water surrounding him. His hand remains tight against the side of the pod, bent over some as he attempts to gather his bearings and make sense of just where he is. ]

Dante?

[ He calls for his little brother but receives no reply and that has the eldest son of Sparda grow more curious and perhaps even a touch bit concerned.

Wading through the shallow waters, it is with pause that he comes to look back to the pod from which he emerged and retrieves the items that seem to be left within it by someone... which would appear to be for him. A necklace (that is not their mother's amulet), some sort of device, a key, and a pamphlet with the words Welcome to Genessia printed across it. He flips through the pamphlet rather quickly, thumbing the last fold which contains red bills within it and takes those, dropping the pamphlet itself down into the water before he makes for his leave from the strange cavern which he woke within.

The city in which he finds himself stepping into is one which gives him pause and he stands there, hand resting atop a thrumming Yamato; he doesn't recognize any of this. ]

This place...

[ There's something to be said in the way those words softly drip from his lips. Perhaps not a sadness but a sort of disappointment which seems to linger within them. ]

...was it all just a dream?

[ But his thoughts are those which he is not allowed to let wander for too long as it would appear that the eldest son of Sparda suddenly has company. Five men slink their way out of the so-called shadows and approach him with a snarl for a grin, the alpha of the group coming to stand before him.

"Hey, nice sword you got there, buddy. You guys see this? We got ourselves a real samurai here, huh?"

The snickers that come are met with icy eyes from the eldest son of Sparda. Bored. Unimpressed. Perhaps even disappointed with the fact that these children are not even worth the caress of Yamato's blade against their skin. It would all be too easy and simply meaningless as far as he is concerned.

"You know... I think I wanna add that to my collection. Think it might look real good with all the others I got. You understand what I'm saying, pal?"

No, they're not demons, but that doesn't stop Vergil from grasping Yamato's hilt. ]

genessia city.
[ When all has been said and done with Dante, Vergil takes it upon himself to wander the city, much on his mind that he needs to sort through in private. Save for his hair being pushed back and the fact that he wears darker colours for attire (nevermind Yamato being at his hip), one could easily mistake him for Dante with a new look. The easiest places to spot him, if not on the streets themselves, would be the Garden Park, seemingly entranced with the somewhat tranquil state of the place. Moonbucks in which he stands there hoping to locate whatever sort of tea they may serve, if any at all. Or the Library where he thumbs over whichever books might catch his interest, namely those more historical and dedicated to fine poetry. Regardless of where you may spot him, he will act in a way which he does with almost everyone: completely ignore your existence.

Of course, there's also the good ol' fashioned bumping into him by accident (or is it he into you?) and a look given from the eldest son of Sparda that might as well shoot spectral daggers at the unfortunate soul met with him followed with a: ]

Might you watch where you're going?

nova city.
[ Much like with Genessia City, Vergil wanders the streets of Nova City, lost in thought and allowing for his predicament to slowly sink in more and more. Aside from the streets, which seems to cause him pause every now and then what with the technology and all, there are a couple places in which the eldest son of Sparda can be found. The Museum, for one, which should come to no one's surprise should they know Vergil (which is just Dante at this point), admiring the various exhibits and artifacts that grace the building with hands clasped behind his back; how curious to see what this world has or had. The other spot would be the Planetarium which, also, no surprise to those who know him, studying the exhibits and attempting to make sense of the constellations that are shown within the building. ]

[Before the men have another chance to act, a large pendant comes flying out of the darkness, hitting the ringleader of the group in the forehead with such force that it ricochets off his head toward the man in blue. It's a good thing he had thought to send Integra a text message putting her in charge of Attleton as soon as he felt the presence.]

I suggest you idiots turn around and walk away. I've got guardian Kuroneko on speed dial. Your boss is absolutely getting time for this, but I'm feeling generous and letting you walk away.

[As the men turn to face him, Dante has Ivory out in one hand, and a familiar looking simple long blade resting on his shoulder. He then turns to Vergil giving a shrug.]

You still don't know how to throw a party, I see. Didn't even have food this time...

[Since she's no longer a Deputy Guardian, Karla no longer has to strictly pay attention to what's going on around her. So of course her mind is (perhaps quite literally) in another world as she absent-mindedly bumps into the stranger. She steps back with a soft, surprised gasp.]

Oh...my apologies. I was lost in thought.

[She pauses to look up at the stranger, studying him, particularly noting the sword at his side. It doesn't particularly concern her, mostly because she has her own sword sheathed at her side. If anything, it brings a slight smile to her face. Oddly, she's dense enough to not see any resemblance to Dante. But then again, she hasn't gotten to know Dante personally...]

...You're a new face, aren't you?

[The defense trainee center was back and running, so that meant Aizawa was back to work again. When a break came, he was out the door. Aizawa did happened to spot Vergil heading to the Garden Park. The hero stared blankly for a moment, after all the man did resemble someone he's familiar with.]

You're up early.

[His tone bored. And it's also way past noon.]

[The local City Guardian happened to be out and about near the museum when Vergil was exiting the building. Gale does a bit of a double take, briefly thinking he just saw Dante, but no. No, that couldn't be Dante. He'd know if Dante was in town.

So, instead of looking at Vergil awkwardly, Gale's eyes fall on the sword. He decides to make a playful quip about it, so he wouldn't be mixed in with any other awkward staring bystanders that may be nearby.]

I'm surprised they let you in with that. Unless swords help enhance the educational experience and I wasn't aware.

[Technically, the most correct response to finding a car parked illegally in front of a fire hydrant is just to write up a parking ticket. However, that still means it's blocking the fire hydrant and lifting a car up over her head isn't difficult for Bulla.

The only difficulty is in seeing exactly where she's going. So when she backs into Vergil, she's quite apologetic.
]

Oh my gosh, I'm sorry! I didn't hurt you, did I?

[The car gets set down a small distance from the hydrant. Turning around, she gets a better look at him and...wow. He looks a lot like Dante. Enough that she wonders if this might be the brother Dante warned a group of his friends about before.]
