a devil's arrival ( action )
a heartwarming family reunion? ( dante )
[ He doesn't recall the moment in which he fell into this slumber but when he slowly begins to stir from it, he is left feeling groggy and tired. How long has he slept like this and why hasn't Dante woke him with a forceful shake or a toss of something at his face sooner? But it's the sound of water lapping against the sides of the "pod" which slowly brings an air of concern to the eldest son of Sparda; this is not part of the Underworld.
He groans, pushing himself to sit and drop out of the pod, boots splashing into the shallow pool of water surrounding him. His hand remains tight against the side of the pod, bent over some as he attempts to gather his bearings and make sense of just where he is. ]
Dante?
[ He calls for his little brother but receives no reply and that has the eldest son of Sparda grow more curious and perhaps even a touch bit concerned.
Wading through the shallow waters, it is with pause that he comes to look back to the pod from which he emerged and retrieves the items that seem to be left within it by someone... which would appear to be for him. A necklace (that is not their mother's amulet), some sort of device, a key, and a pamphlet with the words Welcome to Genessia printed across it. He flips through the pamphlet rather quickly, thumbing the last fold which contains red bills within it and takes those, dropping the pamphlet itself down into the water before he makes for his leave from the strange cavern which he woke within.
The city in which he finds himself stepping into is one which gives him pause and he stands there, hand resting atop a thrumming Yamato; he doesn't recognize any of this. ]
This place...
[ There's something to be said in the way those words softly drip from his lips. Perhaps not a sadness but a sort of disappointment which seems to linger within them. ]
...was it all just a dream?
[ But his thoughts are those which he is not allowed to let wander for too long as it would appear that the eldest son of Sparda suddenly has company. Five men slink their way out of the so-called shadows and approach him with a snarl for a grin, the alpha of the group coming to stand before him.
"Hey, nice sword you got there, buddy. You guys see this? We got ourselves a real samurai here, huh?"
The snickers that come are met with icy eyes from the eldest son of Sparda. Bored. Unimpressed. Perhaps even disappointed with the fact that these children are not even worth the caress of Yamato's blade against their skin. It would all be too easy and simply meaningless as far as he is concerned.
"You know... I think I wanna add that to my collection. Think it might look real good with all the others I got. You understand what I'm saying, pal?"
No, they're not demons, but that doesn't stop Vergil from grasping Yamato's hilt. ]
genessia city.
[ When all has been said and done with Dante, Vergil takes it upon himself to wander the city, much on his mind that he needs to sort through in private. Save for his hair being pushed back and the fact that he wears darker colours for attire (nevermind Yamato being at his hip), one could easily mistake him for Dante with a new look. The easiest places to spot him, if not on the streets themselves, would be the Garden Park, seemingly entranced with the somewhat tranquil state of the place. Moonbucks in which he stands there hoping to locate whatever sort of tea they may serve, if any at all. Or the Library where he thumbs over whichever books might catch his interest, namely those more historical and dedicated to fine poetry. Regardless of where you may spot him, he will act in a way which he does with almost everyone: completely ignore your existence.
Of course, there's also the good ol' fashioned bumping into him by accident (or is it he into you?) and a look given from the eldest son of Sparda that might as well shoot spectral daggers at the unfortunate soul met with him followed with a: ]

nova city.
[ Much like with Genessia City, Vergil wanders the streets of Nova City, lost in thought and allowing for his predicament to slowly sink in more and more. Aside from the streets, which seems to cause him pause every now and then what with the technology and all, there are a couple places in which the eldest son of Sparda can be found. The Museum, for one, which should come to no one's surprise should they know Vergil (which is just Dante at this point), admiring the various exhibits and artifacts that grace the building with hands clasped behind his back; how curious to see what this world has or had. The other spot would be the Planetarium which, also, no surprise to those who know him, studying the exhibits and attempting to make sense of the constellations that are shown within the building. ]

Is that so?
[ How thankful he is to be spared from those. ]
Sounds familiar.
[ Like a demon, at least from what he's encountered back within his world. ]
Fayren and Everglade, is it? [ Two places he has yet to venture off to. ] I'll keep that in mind.
no subject
[She hasn't dealt with much more than petty bandits in her own world, but she's been in Genessia for over four years, so she's seen her fair share of excitement.]
Fayren and Everglade...I haven't visited those places much. Although I really should visit Fayren more, as it seems the most similar to where I come from. Fayren has mages, dragons, and other mythical creatures. Everglade is considerably...darker. That place is home to vampires, werewolves...other creatures that are collectively known as "creatures of the night."

But her explanation of the two cities brings a low rumbling of a hum to the back of his throat and he glances off. Well, curious just became even more now. ]
Creatures of the night? I guess a devil would fit right in there, wouldn't it?
no subject
I suppose one would. Everglade doesn't seem to be very friendly to humans, so I guess anyone who has disdain for them would feel comfortable there...
no subject
Somehow I doubt that stops them from entering the city.
[ Humans, that is. ]
no subject
...No, it doesn't. The leaders...at least the current leaders, are working towards equal rights for all beings. But turmoil in the past has made it...difficult.
no subject
[ To call them predictable and not weak is a step in a so-called "better direction" for the eldest son of Sparda, as he's always viewed his humanity as a hindrance rather than strength as Dante has made it be. But... things have changed a little. ]
What leaders are these you speak of? Those who govern the city?
no subject
[And here Karla's been struggling to get into the minds of people, particularly the ones who take pleasure in making others suffer.]
Well...mostly the Guardians, but their main responsibility is protecting the cities. Four of the five cities have mayors that do the actual governing...Fayren has a royal family that's been missing for over a year, so I suppose the Guardian has been keeping things in order in their absence.
no subject
Guardians.
[ Dante is one of those himself, isn't he? How... fitting for his little brother. ]
A missing royal family, humans getting themselves into trouble, and guardians who protect these cities. Sounds about right, doesn't it?
[ Perhaps speaking more to himself than to the girl, he gives a turn then, hand gently resting atop Yamato. ]
I suppose there's much to learn about this place.
[ However, there's a pause that comes from him. ]
If one were to want to know if someone has left this place... where would they look?
no subject
[She ponders his question for a moment.]
There is a Memoria Park set up in remembrance of those who left Genessia. Perhaps the best way is to ask about the person you're looking for on the network through your device. Surely someone must know them.
no subject
Memoria Park then.
[ That's where he'll go. ]
Your information is... appreciated.
no subject
[She gives a bright smile.]
You're welcome. I'm Karla, by the way.
[Just throwing that out there, in case he ever wants to talk to her again.]
no subject
Duly noted.
[ You'll have to forgive him, Karla. Vergil is by no means a social butterly. ]
