Hello, everyone. Guardian Satou of Genessia speaking.

In light of the recent incidents in both Fayren and Everglade, I'd like to announce and perhaps remind you all of Genessia's Training Center. It's a business that I opened where our teachers will help you discover and hone your unique strengths. Our goal is to help everyone learn rescue procedures and formations, so that everyone can work as a cohesive unit in the event of an emergency.

[She exhales.

All of that professional wording, while something she can do, falls to the side as she continues.]

I'm bringing this up because everyone did a fantastic job in Fayren and Everglade. I'm glad to report that nothing went amiss in Genessia, but we should all stay diligent. If you'd like to meet our teachers and hear more about our classes, please let me know! As your Guardian, I want to give everyone in Genessia the tools that they'll need to stay safe and help others... So... Yes!

I can't say that I have anything particular. The only thing I know I can do with confidence is sing.

Fantastic? FANTASTIC? What the FUCK about that was FANTASTIC? In case you haven't noticed, people got HURT. The attacks lasted an ENTIRE WEEK, and the person that DID THIS thought it was just a FUCKING experiment!!

What sort of HALF-ASSED RESPONSE did you guys even DO? If the guardians think that how things turned out was okay, then you're more DELUSIONAL than I thought you were!!

[Satou waits patiently, her calm smile then returning.]

Sorry, it seems like I didn't phrase myself very well. Both Guardian teams reacted swiftly, and we were able to keep the threat from breaching the Archways. The civilian effort was also impressive, and effective in preventing any fatalities or life threatening injuries.

Which city were you in?

[Her temper does die down pretty quick, but the cynical judging persists. She listens to Satou patiently, considering her words carefully.]

If it wasn't for the civilians things would have gotten much worse, which also calls to question the need for guardians if they are stretched as thin as they are. You can paint a rosy picture all you fucking want, but that horrorhouse was a shitshow.

Everglade. It wasn't pretty.

[While Satou appreciates Vaggie's temper dying down, she was also quite ready to be yelled at more. The most honest words are most helpful, and they often come without a filter.]

Unfortunately, I'm only able to take action within Genessia. [Though she did give "paid vacation" to some of her private employees, knowing they would help out in the other cities.]

But you're right. The Guardians and their Deputies can't do much if it's just them. It's naive for the Guardians to think they alone can save an entire city. That's why I'm trying to encourage everyone to please make use of the Training Center.

Well, I'm sure some of us really need the help, but then you have others that go off with fists clenched and their dicks hard ready for a fight at any opportunity.

And training isn't going to do a lot of good when an enemy comes after you with clones copies of your greatest fears. What we're lacking is information and a way to coordinate what the fuck is going on when its happening.

We were running blind and scared, and it wasn't until a couple days in that info even started appearing on the comm. And I don't think it was a guardian or a deputy that made the call. So what's the deal? You don't wanna freak out the other three cities and let them know that shit was going down and folks had their thumbs up their FUCKING asses?

It will. Training is about drilling yourself to the point that you can face anything calmly, using the routines you've learned.

[She isn't going to touch that can of worms because LORDY. That's part of what the training center is all about: Finding the people who are reckless and reeling them in.]

We did make an announcement, and we had shelters set up within our city and Nova so that the citizens of Everglade and Fayren could temporarily evacuate. Unfortunately, not all citizens took us up on that. Once again, that's the sort of thing that civilian training could assist with. It's important for people to know their limits and when they need to leave.

Then we'll have to include first aid in training. I believe Konoka-san is working on setting up a mobile healing unit, so I'll see what I can do about advertising that to new arrivals.

She did seem to like to make herself busy. Doubt I'd be be much good for it, though.

First aid isn't something you need super powers to learn. You just have to want to help people, and be willing to put the time into doing that.

I had a shoulder wound coming from the top of my clavicle straight to the middle of my back. You'll forgive me if my arms and neck aren't particularly good at turning around 180 degrees.

Frankly it should have been worse. I must have been moving away because it really ought to have pierced my heart.

[Satou isn't going to comment on that. She knows she herself is different from most civilians. But she shakes her head, repeating her initial suggestion:]

I think you should really consider visiting after you've recovered, then. If you're going to be on your own a lot, it'll help you immensely. Have you seen one of the magical healers since your injury?

Point is, the whole thing was a bigger deal that you seem to think it is. Dunno how this is going to look on your whole re-election campaign, but what do I know. I just go there.

I'm sorry that Everglade was rough. Unfortunately, my role as Guardian is limited to just Genessia City. [Sending the instructors from her business wasn't really a Guardian thing, and she doesn't want to stir up trouble by admitting to that unofficial aid.]

Assistant instructor is fine. My teachers at UA have the formal teaching experience, after all. My work experience here has been managing a cafe.
