The Second Turn [anonymous text/video]
[anonymous text] Hollow Comfort
a question
by now many of you have realized your situation
and where we are and what this place is
so to those that have embraced this world:
what do you find worthy of your time?
how do you find meaning in this nothingness?
how can you say that helping someone is worth anything?
when they might not be here next week
right now i don't see the point in anything
and would like a different perspective
[video] When the Piper Seeks his Fee...
[Vaggie looks up on the camera as she sits on a bench in Everglade looking morose as usual. Beside her are a set of boxes and bags, and she seems to be peering soberly at the camera.]
Well, it finally happened. Those little red bills they gave me are finally down to the last few. And as charming as it is to sleep out in a back alley or under a newspaper in the park, I don't really find that all that appealing.
So, uh...
...yeah, I'm asking for a job. Not asking for much, but it does have to pay. I've done some bookkeeping stuff in the past, and maybe a few odd jobs here and there. Its not exactly like I have references. But if you have something or have heard of someone that is hiring, help a girl out? Thanks.
Oh, and if that job is Torchwood -- I'm not interested.

[anon] & [video]
we are slaves to our vices and our desires
even if people try to do good we are really just trying to stroke our own egos
or feel a sense that their life is better that they can afford to spend time with the people that are dependent on us
living in the moment is also short-sighted to the broader context
of what our actions mean and do
in the short-term, long-term, and very-long term
where all actions fade to dust

Not assholes would be nice.
So what's the story?

I'm afraid most people have those; if you can endure the indelicacies of nature, the Genessia City Hopsital is hiring for secretaries.
no subject
just a bunch of folks that are ready for a fight
without really asking why
and they fail to look inside and ask whether it all matters in the first place
bringing the wheel turns round again
bringing us back to a place we thought we knew
we need more cynicism
i would trust an asshole more than i would trust a hero
at least they're being honest to themselves
-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-
[At the sound of that Vaggie's shoulders slump and she grumbles aloud:]
UGH. Pass.
Do I even look like the type that would give two shits about bedside manner? I would be out in three days, tops.
no subject
-------
Ahaha, I wasn't aware the type was betrayed by looks. Do you like physiognomy? Well, secretaries don't interact with patients nearly so much as physicians do. Still, you'd like to keep socializing to a minimum? Your activity on the network suggests otherwise.
no subject
until they are proven otherwise
i've seen a lot of 'good people'
that were really just reaching for their own selfish desires
and pushing aside others that get into the way of their ideals
you're better off being judgemental
because the only one that starts look out for you is you
if you count on somebody to help
they have to have earned it
anything less is a mistake waiting to be discovered

[She was going to make a retort but she then sort of just. Stops. Her eye moves toward Ted, giving him an appraising glare.]
...what did you just say? Are you really looking into my activity on this thing...? Are you seriously just confessing that you've been stalking me just now?
no subject
-----
Oh, goodness no, nothing so specific.
no subject
that's just how the world is
what i'm looking for is something worth doing in THIS reality
-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-
That's what it sounds like to me! So, what were you doing, listening in on conversations that weren't about you.
no subject
---
Haha, certainly. I'm not so vain that only the personal interests.
no subject
or would you be one of those weirdos that would go 'i deserve this?'
-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-
Well, get interested in something that's not me, asshole.
That's creepy as fuck.
no subject
---
Way ahead of you. You really think so? Is having public broadcasts known really so unnerving?
[That could be a useful technique...]
no subject
the next thing you'll say is that everybody who is condemned deserves it
get bent
-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-*V*-~-
Know that you're conversations are being monitored by an asshole that is voyeuristically looking in, not saying anything, and making note of everything that's being said? That's how people get paranoia, dude.
no subject
---
Oh, I don't see them as they go then and there, of course. Still, that's good to know, thank you. Well, good luck in finding a vocation. I think you'll find it's the easiest thing in the world to find, here.
