Who: Hizashi Yamada (
vociferates), Mollymauk Tealeaf (
blingking)
What: what up he's Molly, he's ?? years old, and never learned how to read.
When: now
Where: Some park, a bark, the stupid apartments for newbies
Warnings: none???? Is Molly a warning? Stupidity.
[The weather at this point in the afternoon is pretty nice, but Hizashi isn't out to really enjoy the weather, rather he's out doing errands. Grocery shopping is the big one, and he's currently carrying a couple of small plastic sacks with odds and ends in them as he strides through the park as a sort of short cut back towards home. He's largely lost in thought as he passes under a shade covered area of the park but he's pulled out of his idle thoughts when he realizes there's more people around than normal for this time of day.
Now that he's paying attention, THAT'S when he notices a handful of people standing around someone who, honestly, is hard to miss. The guy might not be very tall but well, even as used to strange appearances as Hizashi is, horns, purple skin and red eyes makes a person stand out. So, he wanders over, peering over the shoulder of someone else to see what was up.
Card tricks...? He thinks? His brows pinch together and shoot upwards.]
Spending your afternoon entertaining, huh? [there's a wide grin on his face when he finally speaks up.]

He'd been at the park for about an hour already, offering tarot card readings to those interested. People came to gawk, and ended up walking away a few dollars short - but emotionally richer. A win-win for everyone, he would say.
He's just finished dealing the last card to a young woman, pointed teeth visible as he grins. )
Ah, the Sun. You have a bright future ahead of you, beautiful. Keep looking forward and good things will come.
( The woman thanks him frantically, hands him a bill and hurries off excitedly. It's about now that Hizashi's voice clears through the throng. Molly looks up, beckoning with a ringed finger. )
No harm in giving the people of Genessia a show. Are you interested in a reading, sir?

Sure, why not, man! Let's see how good you are!
[he steps over, muttering a quick excuse me to someone he'd bumped into and offers an apologetic grin. It's a quick exchange, and his attention quickly shifts back to the fellow offering him a card reading.]
You've really got the style down for this sort of thing, huh?

No point in putting on a show if you don't look the part. ( Molly winks, sets the deck of cards down, and pulls one to set in front of Hizashi. )
The Anvil. ( He rests his hand against his chin, thoughtful, and hums. Mostly to provoke some kind of response. ) A strong first card.

Hahahaha, never heard of that one, what's it mean? I don't have to watch for anvils falling from the sky or anything, yeah? That's a lot more stressful than I'm willing to think about, yo.
[But he thinks, eyes glancing up from the card towards Molly. He's not being given much... to go off of but the way Molly's reacted has the gears in his brain turning. Anvils are sturdy, used to forge weaponry or something right?]
Unless you're gonna tell me it's some sort of metaphor about forging new relationships. [Then he might be inclined to think you've been spyin' mr. tealeaf]

In a world as strange as this, it's always better to be careful - just in case. ( For all he knows, anvils falling from the sky is just a normal Tuesday event. That, however, is not the cards intended meaning... probably. He usually just makes it up on the spot.
Or has someone else do it for him. Molly cocks his head quizzically. )
That was one of my predictions, yes. Have you met anyone new recently? Someone you had not expected to? ( It's vague enough to mean... pretty much whatever, honestly. ) Or were you hoping to strengthen an existing relationship with someone close to you?

Mm...]
Maybe, man! Sorta... [he clears his throat, and lifts a hand to rub at the back of his neck. Hizashi is not a bashful person, but in retrospect this is pretty personal.] Any of these cards got anything to say about whether a guy should buy a house or not?
[subject change.]

He pulls another card. The Chariot. A finger on his chin indicates that he's thinking really hard about the implication of this card. That, or he's trying to keep Hizashi's interest by playing it up. Who knows. ]
Putting the two together... it seems that the stars suggest a man of wealth and talent such as yourself deserves to buy a nice house. I say go for it.

Sounds like you're trying really hard to butter me up, man. But I guess I AM pretty good at what I do. Besides, anything's better than living in a bug infested inn in Fayren. [he shudders, visibly.]
I'm pretty sure they're all going to come eat me in my sleep. I've gone through so much bug spray the shop I get it from has started offering me a discount.
