[Video/Action] Introduction!

[New arrival Billy Batson had found his way independently out of the Bay; got his box; listened to the message; picked up some pamphlets and had been making his way to the Commonspace when he'd spied some unusual eggs. Curious, he'd picked one up - and with a burst of smoke it had had an unfortunate side effect. Now he has ended up partially glued to the ground and in his efforts to get up he's managed to get awkwardly stuck at foot, shoulder and cheek - so he was virtually lying on his side, stuck to the pavement. And thus the video is strangely tilted as he'd pulled out the communicator to call for assistance.]

[Maybe it was a good thing he hadn't touched any of the eggs.]

Hey, what happened???

I don't know. I picked up some colored egg that was lying around and it must have been all sticky with invisible super glue or something and now I...

[He tries to push upward with one hand. No luck.]

... now I can't move.

[This is embarrassing.]

Heh, the eggs are from the city but I don't know how they work.

[He tilts his head before nodding.]

Where are you, I'll try something!

Dude, I don't know. I just got here and...

[He makes a frustrated, helpless gesture. But he's somewhere between the Bay and the Commonspace.]

Oh. Wait, I think I might know where you are! Hang on, okay?

[Not that Billy can really go anywhere but, yeah! Ash on his way!]

[Yeah, unfortunately no matter what they do, he'll be stuck for a couple of hours... But Billy is certainly not aware of that.]

Okay.

[He fiddles with the smart phone more as he waits. Ash will find a kid in his mid-teens, dressed in modern clothing and letting out a sigh to himself as he lies on his side. Really, this is so awkward and the situation had been weird enough without this being a way to meet new people. But nothing he'd tried had worked - it must be magical super glue.]

[If he'd just arrived, there was only one place that he could be at!

So, hi Billy, have Ash showing up with a Greninja right on his tail.]

Uhm, wow the eggs can do all this?

[He grins.]

Okay just don't move, okay? Greninja, use cut!

[His eyes widen a bit.]

What's that thing?

[Greninja already has the energy daggers in his hands but he stops as he gives his trainer a look.

Ash at least looks sheepish.]

Oh right, I always forget. This is my Grenija, he's a pokemon. I'm pretty sure they're only in my world, but a lot of people have them in the city.

[Pokemon. He's heard of that... but they weren't real in his world. But superheroes like Batman and Superman were real in Billy's world so who was he to disbelieve that in this strange new world Pokemon weren't real? The creature certainly looked like nothing he'd seen before.]

Oh.

[Is his own spoken remark though.]

Do you think this'll work?

Uh, well...it's worth a try, right? this city sometimes does weird things like this and it's kinda hard to guess what'll happen.

[He looked at Greninja who was holding the glowing blades at the ready.]

We'll be careful, alright?

Okay....

[He squeezes his eyes shut as if bracing for an impact.]

[It feels mostly like really cold water, Greninja giving a small croaking sound when it doesn't work.]

Uhm...guess not?

[Billy shivers and sighs heavily.]

.... So now what?

Weird stuff is happening in the city. This might be part of it?

So this is isn't normal?

[He just arrived. For all he knew, eggs always did this.]

uh, not really. I mean..weird stuff happening? That's normal.

[He rubs the back of his head a little.]

But this is the first time I've seen eggs like this.

[Kaoru had been carrying various amount of fabrics that he was planning to use at his shop when he spotted the situation. Slowly he looked over. Paused for a moment before letting out a light laugh.]

What happened here?

[Billy tries to crane his neck to better see who was speaking. Really, this whole situation was so awkward...]

Uhh... I'm stuck?

I picked up one of those....

[He has spied a nearby egg and points at it.]

They must be super sticky.

So sort of like prank eggs. Why didn't I think of something like that?

[He laughed slightly, mostly to himself.]

I assume there is a way to unstick yourself. Maybe with another egg or with time... or the type of stuff people use to unstick other things.

I've tried. Nothing works.

[Well, at least being a magical superhero with super strength didn't work...]

That kind of sucks for you then. I am not sure what I could even do to help.

[He could find the stuff he mentioned but if it was the worlds doing, that probably wasn't going to work either.]

Then what am I supposed to do?

I guess you are stuck there for a set amount of time. Who knows how long that will be though.

... Well, that's just great.

[He sighs heavily.]

I can always stay until you are unstuck so you don't get bored.

[Because he knew that well it's not good being bored anyway.]

Won't you get bored?

No, I can think of ways to entertain myself. Plus talking keeps one from getting bored, don't you think?

So what do we talk about?

I'll start. You are new here right? It's why you wouldn't have thought to not get stuck.

So how long have you been here for?

New, yeah... It's been.... maybe an hour?

[Very new.]

So very new...You couldn't have come at a worse time really.

[Kaoru had moved to sit down for the moment.]

I might as well mention, my name is Kaoru.

[After seeing the video, Itherael sought out Billy. They drifted above him for a time, out of reach of his senses. Itherael is normally just an observer. Their instinct is to fall back into that role. But what they're observing is a mortal in distress - a child, at that. Their understanding of human children is that they are more helpless than the adults.]

[This person needs help. He asked for help.]

[It takes some mental pushing, but Itherael finds it in themselves to land in front of Billy. The Scroll of Fate is tucked under one of their arms.]

I am the Archangel Itherael. What aid do you need?

[Cheek down on the pavement, Billy squints awkwardly up toward the figure.]

Um. I'd like to get up?

[Oh. Right. Well, that seems simple enough.]

[Itherael holds out a hand, attempting to help the mortal with magic. Light glows around Billy. And yet, try as they might, Itherael isn't able to counteract the mysterious stickiness.]

[They put their hand down, and the glow fades away.]

How did this happen? Whatever force did this to you is able to withstand my power.

It was an egg.

[Not perhaps the expected answer.]

I picked it up and there was some smoke and suddenly... I'm stuck.

An...egg.

[Itherael blanks for a moment. Stickiness-inducing eggs is entirely out of their ordinary. At the very least, they make a note not to touch the nearby egg.]

[Well, if magic won't work, maybe physically lifting him will. Itherael reaches out for Billy's free hand.] How long have you been stuck for?

[Billy gives the hand a skeptical look. He's tried his own strength and... no good.]

Dude, that isn't going to help.

I don't know...

[He glances at his phone.]

An hour?

[Itherael rescinds the offered hand, dejected. This is turning into much more of an ordeal than they expected. The Scroll of Fate wouldn't have an answer for this either. They're silent for a time.]

I do not know how to assist you. I suppose...at the very least, I can remain here, and ensure no other misfortune befalls you.

Thanks...

It hasn't been a very nice 'welcome to your kidnapping' so far.

[He sighs.]

Have you been here long?

Only a few days. Already, my interactions with humans here have been most interesting. I assume from your words that you are also newly arrived? Ah, I should also inquire as to your name?

[Okay, this isn't going so badly, now...]

I just got here.

[And already in trouble.]

Are you really an... angel?

Yes. I am a member of the Angiris Council, who leads the rest of the angels of the High Heavens.

As humans can differ from one realm to another, so to do we. The angels you know of from your world may likely be different from my kin. I have learned as much in my short time here.

No. You are not dead. [The answer comes with a slight shake of their hood.] I have been told that the angels of other worlds play some part in the mortal cycle of life and death. However, I am not one of them.

[fsdjfls She's flapping her wings back here.]

Um! I'll be there in a minute!

[And off she goes.... 2 mins later... she's back on.]

I'm sorry, where are you exactly?

... I don't know. I just got here.

[So he's between the Bay and the Commonspace. That he's newly arrived should be a clue that he's not far from the Bay.]
