002: Is this how it should have been? [Video/Action for Housemates, Backdated to the AU Event.]

[A young redheaded boy appears on the screen, hands shaking a little as he holds the device. He looks pale, confused. He had to work out what was going on, and for now this weird device seemed his only clue.]

H-hello… ?

… I don't know where I am… Um…

What happened…? Where'd she--…

[His voice seems to catch in his throat.]

Why was she laughing…?

*Spoilers* In this AU, Zelos was the one killed instead of his mother during that fateful snowy day in Meltokio.]

[A...talking yellow pony? At least he seems surprised enough that he doesn't look like he's immediately about to burst into tears.]

What the...?

I-I'm sorry... Did I frighten you? I-I mean, that happens sometimes... people being surprised at me being a talking pegasus.

[He seemed distracted, glancing around occasionally and rubbing at his eyes. This was all so confusing.]

'Pegasus'...are you like a unicorn? I read about those before...

I'm not a unicorn, I'm a pegasus. Unicorns can do magic, but pegasi cannot. We can however fly.

[She could fly?]

Like the angels... are you with Cruxis...?

I-I guess so, but what is Cruxis?

[She felt sorry for the poor kid, so she was going to help him and show him kindness.]

[He didn't know much about them himself, yet.]

'Genessia'...? But...I thought I was in Meltokio...

What happened...?

That's not a place I've ever heard of before.

[She shakes her head slightly.]

No, this is Genessia I'm sorry to say, but I can't say what happened either because I'm not sure. We just get brought here.

I don't understand...did I do something wrong...?

Why can't I go home...?

[She shakes her head slightly. She feels like this isn't helping any, but making the whole thing worse.]

Oh, no. You've done nothing wrong, we're just all in the same situation that we can't quite understand. But please don't worry, okay. Or else I might start to worry again.

[Truth be told, Zelos was scared and confused above anything else, but at least talking to someone meant he wasn't entirely on his own.]

So...everyone just came here?

D, did you see a bright light, too?

[She gave a small, but firm nod.]

That's right, but I don't remember any bright light. Why do you ask?

Before I woke up here... there was this bright light, and...

[He sniffed, rubbing his eyes a bit.]

It hurt. It really hurt.

A light that hurt... I'm not sure how that works, but I'm sorry it happened. I mean light isn't meant to hurt anyone. Except for sunburn.

But you don't look like you have sunburn.

...Whoa, why is there a kid here...?

[ There's a worried look on her face as she spoke to the device. ]

[Even more worrying was that it looked like he was in her living room, judging from what could be seen in the background.

With the change, he did not seem to recognise her.]

Um...I don't know what happened...

T-there was this light and-- it hurt. Really hurt.

[ Ishtar sets the device down as soon as she recognizes that he is in the living room. She walks out of her room and looks at the little boy that seems to be confused in her home. ]

...A light? I didn't see any light.

[ She replied walking over to him and lowering herself. ]

Sweetie, it's okay.

[ She replied patting his head softly. ] You're in a place called Genessia. It's not your home world anymore.

[He looked a little startled as she entered, not expecting her to be in the same place he'd found himself.]

I, it was snowing, and--there was a big light, um...

[Tears were coming into his eyes. Zelos had no idea what happened, after that light all he remembered was everything hurting, her laughing...now he suddenly woke up here and he had no idea where he was or how he got there.]

Genessia...? I'm not in Meltokio anymore?

[He looked up at her, looking utterly lost at the affection and soft tone.]

[ Ishtar set the device down as she approached the boy, though still waiting for him to answer her. Little kids weren't dangerous in her opinion, and he looked terrified. ]

Hey...it's not snowing here, and it'll be okay.

[ She continued to stroke his hair softly, trying to calm him down. ]

Yes, this is Genessia, a world that deviates from our own.

[ Of course, Ishtar couldn't leave a small kid here. ]

You won't be able to leave here for a while, though. None of us have.

[Zelos started rubbing at his eyes, trying to will the tears away, but his little hands wouldn't stop shaking.]

What, what about Mother...

Why...can't I go home...? Did I do something wrong...?

[He wasn't sure how to react to her stroking his hair, but...it felt nice.]

[ Ishtar shifted over the counter to get a cloth for him and dab his face gently. Ah, poor child. She didn't know how he ended up here, but she wasn't going to let a kid fend for himself. ]

I don't know, sweetie. I wish I knew but you can stay here for as long as you want.

[ She replied softly. ]

Can you tell me your name? I'm Ishtar.

[He wasn't used to being looked after like this. Normally when he got upset, the family butler would come to check on him, but he was not an affectionate man. He didn't know how to respond to it, but he really didn't want Ishtar to leave right now, either.

His voice was wavering, but the question was at least something simple he could answer.]

T, thank you...Ms Ishtar...

[ Ishtar just wasn't the type of person that would treat a little kid coldly. He seemed really confused, and lost, so she had no idea what she should do to help him. This was the only thing she could think of. ]

You're welcome, Z-Zelos...?!

[ Whoa, the flirty red head was a kid right now? Ishtar didn't seem too surprised since she's used to it, but at least that answers why he's in her house. ]

Zelos...are you hungry, cold? Do you want to sleep?

[ She replied giving him a worried look. ] Let me know.

[Zelos gave a little nod at his name, rubbing at his eyes with his hands again. Her reassurance seemed to be working, at least, considering he was slowly starting to calm down.]

... I don't know... um...

[Aside from his confusion though, it looked like the little'un was struggling to stop his eyes drooping closed. The fear and adrenaline were probably the only emotions keeping him awake.]

[ Ishtar pulled a tissue from the coffee table and offered it to him. ]

Just let me know what you want and I'll try me best to help you, Zelos. Just say the word.

[ She replied smiling at him. She did notice that his eyes were a bit shifty and tired. ]

Oh...thank you.

[He gratefully took the tissue, using it to dab at his sore eyes.

Simple requests he could manage, at least.]

...do you have hot chocolate here, Ms Ishtar?

[Still a little shivery, but trying to stifle a yawn.]

...cold...

You're welcome sweetie.

[ Ishtar petted his head gently again, in a sort of comforting way to calm him down. He looked rather piqued and confused. ][ She replied trying to be gentle to him. He looked cold and said he was cold, so he should really settle himself on the couch and get relaxed.
