Level 6 [Video/Action] New Pet? New Colors?

Okay. No shouting this time, but I've got to ask.

[Aaron then points to a puppy on his bed with eggshells scattered around its feet. Strangely, it was colored orange along with its eyes.]

Is this one of the Poke-monster things that the dragon was talking about? Because most dogs I know has golden fur and they didn't hatch from eggs.

[Unlike last time, he doesn't have any problem with his new pet considering it was closer than having his very own dog. For the rest of the week, he managed to let it have some walks at the park, play with it, and teach it tricks.

But what he doesn't know that having this strange pet causes his dark blue eyes to not only to turn orange but it also slowly changes his brown unkempt hair into an orange bob hair. By the time you meet him either at his Datascape World video game shop or one of Nova City or Genessia's parks, he is now wearing a matching orange sweater along with his physical changes.]

What kind of attack do you mean? Like breathing fireballs and psychic powers?

basically. Depending on what Pokemon it is. Mine doesn't have those kinds of attacks for example.

Well, he didn't have those abilities when he hatched from the egg.

In other words, he's just a normal strange-colored dog. Damn it, I thought I finally got my own Poke-monsters that everyone is talking about.

[And by everyone, he meant the dragon that he talked to before.]

That seems to be it. Though people don't usually talk about Pokemon that much. I know I don't talk about mine really. They just help me with work.

Still, I'm still disappointed about this. Having a superpowered animal would really perk up my mundane daily life in Genessia.

Is having a normal life really that bad?

If going through the same routine every day, then yes.

What's so wrong about that exactly?

Going out, going to work, and playing video games...

It's like my life is in deja vu. And I seriously want to break out of it.

You can try something new every so often so it's not always the same day in and out.

I mean not all archways are like home, so you'll always find something you might not have.

Like what? Going to Everglade or Fayren? As much I like horror and fantasy, I rather prefer the modern and future world like this one.

Then I really can't help you. I explored archways I wasn't used to and found things I never would have otherwise.

Like the blacksmiths. As much as Nova City is good for prosthetics, the blacksmiths just has that certain... something that I like and never would have thought of otherwise.

[Aaron's eyes widen when he hears this.]

Wait, blacksmiths can make prosthetics?! Does that mean they work together with those Nova City people?

No. They just create the parts I need to make them. I am the only one who really uses this method because I can go between Fayren and Nova City.

Oh, I see.

So that means you're sort of a steampunk-ish blacksmith of sorts?

I... wouldn't call myself that. I am usually called a prosthetics engineer.

Engineer? You mean your artificial limbs kind of moves through steampunk technology?

It moves through the nerves since that's how it's connected. Extremely painful surgery and a long healing time because of it too.

Huh... That's painful and complicated.

You lived in a steampunk world before you arrived here?

It's why not a lot of people go for it. I did have one whose recovery time was a year though, but they were stubborn and an idiot.

I have no idea what steampunk even means.

How stubborn were they exactly?

Uh... You know, old-timey technology, without any electricity and only powered by steam or something. I thought you're in that kind of world considering how you worked with blacksmiths with your prosthetics.

Does your world have that?

Let's just say stubborn enough that they can get themselves into trouble and hurt themselves because they ended up in a dangerous situation.

Ah, I guess what we have is considered old style compared to here. But we have electricity, but not everywhere. Rural areas still use gas for example.

The reason I use blacksmiths is actually more my style of automail is actually different from Nova Cities, so parts are much harder to come by. It's just easier to tell a blacksmith and give them the plains to get them to make the part.

That is true. Most of the metal in this city is not exactly the same as the medieval metal I know in fantasy stories. So I can understand why you chose that route.

[Yeah, he likes gadgets and gizmos of Nova City, but he also knew that there are some downsides to them as well. It might be because he does have some a bit of experience with the digital age very literally.]

That as well and some cases it's not just one kind of metal but a mixture. It all depends on what the use for the automail if more. Like you use different metals if you live in a cold climate for example.

Huh, guess even you have to make some metal in any kinds of environment you're currently in.
