[Mai's face appeared on screen looking...defeated. And wet. Quite wet. Hair plastered to her face, skin and hair thoroughly soaked. One might think to ask why she would willingly broadcast herself in such a state, except...as a means of introduction...she stared blankly into the camera before tilting it slightly upward.]
[Low-level grey clouds unleashing a personalized spring shower greeted the viewer.]
Does anybody know how to turn these off? [A slight shift in camera, and it returned to face level. Only suddenly much more even, as if she had placed the communicator down on a flat surface.] It's been over an hour.
[The reason for such an action is quite apparent as she reached off-screen then, reaching for a small umbrella, and opening it over her head. It seemed to work for all of three seconds, before the clouds above disappeared...only to reappear once more under the umbrella.]
[Shoulders slumping, Mai gave a heavy sigh. Completely unsurprised by the reveal, as if she'd been through it several times already.]
[Then, just before the camera shut off, she gave a loud sneeze.]

[Video]
[At least, from what she could see through the increasingly blurry screen.]
So do I.
I suppose the most I can do until then is to make sure it doesn't hit anyone else.
[Video]
... Did you try changing clothes? I mean, some sort of raincoat. Water-proof.
[Video]
I don't have any with me. My raincoat is at home, and I don't want to accidentally flood the place. Other people live there.
[Video]
[It may be some other weird thing but that's what he's aware of about the strangeness going on right now.]
[Video]
[She seemed confused for a split second, sending the camera a strange (if slightly unfocused) look.]
No, I don't-- [He would see the moment realization dawned on her. Eyes widening as a small gasp escaped her lips.] Wait...at the garage...
I didn't think anything of it at the time, but...that must've been one of those eggs.
[Video]
I guess you'll need to wait it out.
Or try a hairdryer? Blow it away?
[Video]
At this point, I'm willing to try just about anything once.
[Video]
[Video]
[As promising as it sounded to have some hope for an end in sight...]
There wasn't anything, in particular, you said or did? Try to think.
[Video]
Pulling didn't help. Magic didn't help. Superhuman strength didn't help.
[Video]
Well, that rules out at least two ideas I might've had.
Process of elimination. You might be right that I just have to...wait it out.

A TRICKY JAPE!! THE FIRST THING TO DO IS FIND THE SWITCH. WHERE DID YOU TURN IT ON??
no subject
WHY ARE WE YELLING?!?]I...uh...don't know?
I don't think rainclouds come with an off switch.

CAPSLOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL]PUZZLIER AND PUZZLIER!!
HAVE YOU TRIED EATING IT??
[That sometimes works.]
no subject
[
Who are you, Goku?]You can't eat a cloud.
no subject
[She could at least make an effort, gosh.]

[
It didn't help that in her world, clouds were sometimes sentient. Sort of.]I don't think it's a matter of attitude. It's simple physics. You can't hold a cloud. You can't contain it. Not in any matter that would allow you to eat it.
no subject
[No confidence in this girl. He'll do what he can to raise her weirdly non-cloud-eating spirits.]
AND IF THAT DOESN'T WORK, ARE YOU OR WERE YOU HOLDING A PARADE???
IF NOT, HAVE YOU TRIED ASKING NICELY FOR IT TO MAYBE NOT DO THAT???
no subject
Clouds tend to not see reason. It's going to keep raining whether I like it or not.
[There was a deliberate pause before she added, much more sheepishly:]
...besides...I already tried that.

PERHAPS, RAINED-UPON-PERSON, A DIFFERENT VIEW IS REQUIRED. MAYBE ASKING THIS PARTICULAR CLOUD NOT TO RAIN ON YOU IS LIKE ASKING THIS PARTICULAR PAPYRUS NOT TO BE REALLY, REALLY, COOL. IMPOSSIBLE!! INSTEAD, WHAT YOU SHOULD BE ASKING IS HOW YOU CAN INCORPORATE THIS UNALTERABLE FACT INTO YOUR LIFE??
FOR EXAMPLE, IF FACED WITH A SKELETON WHOSE COOLNESS IS UNENDING, YOU WOULD HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE FACTS, AND HANG OUT AND-SLASH-OR TALK TO HIM ON THE PHONE.
WITH THE CLOUD, YOU WOULD...WALK AROUND WILTED PLANTS??? SIT IN YOUR SINK AND DO THE DIRTY DISHES?? QUENCH YOUR THIRST??
[Just shooting off solid gold ideas, here.]
video;
[Kaoru currently had bright pink hair. It was something he had worn color wise before once, so he wasn't exactly freaked out about it.]
video;
Two hours? Are you sure about that?
There isn't some unique word or action to make it stop?
video;
As for anything special to make it stop sooner, haven't come across anything.
video;
[Less a question and more echoing the statement of fact.]
I wonder how many unique effects seem to be taking hold. I suppose it's fortunate we all know the causes, given the effects vary as much as they do.
video;
[He nodded slightly.]
As for the exact number, who knows how many effects are actually around.
[Video]---->Action?
[Yes, Trunks is concerned. And moving, given the scenery behind him--an office--is moving.]
I got hit too, but with bunny ears for a bit. It went away after a few hours, so hopefully this will too. I've been avoiding the eggs ever since as much as I can.
[Where-ever you are Mai, prepare to have Trunks homing in on your location and making his way to you. With some supplies that might help with this, at least until it stops.]
[Video]---->Action!
I didn't think anything of it at the time. It was mixed in with my tools, so I moved it out of the way. Apparently, that was enough to trigger...whatever this is.
Re: [Video]---->Action!
Yeah, that happened to me too. I moved it out of the way of a part I needed, and the next thing I know, I have bunny ears. Mostly because I found out by bumping my head suddenly.
[A sheepish smile, as he's not proud of it.]
You said it's been going on for about an hour or so already?
[Looking straight at the video-feed now.]
I've got you, Mai. Be there soon. I can't stop this I think, but I can try and help at least keep you from being so miserable while dealing with it.
[Video]---->Action!
What makes you think I'm miserable?
[Aside from the literal raincloud hovering over her head.]
Action!
Seriously Mai, if you wanted to go swimming you're dressed pretty poorly for it.
[Teasing and ignoring the rain cloud or that he's going to get soaked too moving closer to her. Passing her a small capsule while doing so.]
There's a raincoat in there and rain-hat. I can get you quick-dried, and keep you from being re-soaked too much. It's not perfect, but it'll hopefully help keep you from getting too soaked again, or sick.
[The damage might already have been done on that front, but they can try.]
Action!
You're a lifesaver. Or life preserver, at this rate.
[Clicking the capsule, sure enough, the coat and hat soon appeared, which she made quick work of putting on. It did little to immediately dry any part of her, but it provided a small degree of shelter from the persistent downpour.]
Re: Action!
That's only part 1. We do need to keep you from getting sick too, right? You're still soaking wet...
[Which is part of why he stepped close, besides passing her the capsule. Taking another step closer into her space, Trunks took her hands and summoned his ki. Not powering up or going for a transformation, but enough to cause a tangible aura. Around them both; hopefully evaporating the water from her.
Between getting her dry and the rain-coat and hat, it should hopefully make her roaming rain-cloud bearable.]
