[Video] Mother Hen and Job Openings

At the height of the day, a familiar face pops onto the network, her voice almost lost under the sound of the music pumping through the Studio as she weaves between the small clusters of dancers waiting their turn on the floor.

“Hi all,” she greets, slipping around a corner to the front of the airy space, tucking herself against a glittering wall behind the front desk. Maybe here she can be more easily heard. “So, if anyone is job hunting or looking for a fresh new gig this spring, Feather Light Studio is still looking for dance instructors and to fill a few other miscellaneous roles…” She glances around the corner as if to check on her last group, the smile on her face flooded with pride when she returns to the camera. “While I’d love to spend all of my time here, I believe I might have over-extended myse—“

She cringes hard at a sudden scream in her ear, face falling entirely flat and unimpressed, despite the echoed yelps of surprise from the dancers in the other ‘room’.

“…. and if anyone wants to adopt an delightful little chick, let me know.”

Though from the tone of her voice, she might immediately part ways with the baby bird now perched atop her shoulder if someone says they’ve skipped dinner.

Sheheheheh damn, y' got a pissy li'l thing. Mine jus' follows me 'round. Sometimes there's a whole handful an' sometimes it's off on its own. Ain't been too big a nuisance though. Yers jus' randomly squawks atcha or's it get set off by somethin'?

[She sighs, allowing the thing to peck her fingers affectionately as the pats its little head.]

Like it's mommy, it doesn't seem too keen on being ignored... Little Diva.

I have some experience is dancing if... being taught to dance since I was three counts.

[She knew it was all apart of her mothers plan at the time for her to be the best actress ever. But here she figured she should at least do some type of work, so why not something she could do and not just acting. Though she knew at some point she needed to keep up appearances anyway.]

[That's relief that floods her face, even with the chick now pecking at her hand as she scoops it off her shoulder.]

That definitely counts, [she grins, stroking the little bird's head.] Nice to hear I'm not the only one put through the steps. [Yay! Someone who gets it!] What's your strong suit?

Honestly, I am not sure. My mother would always say I had to be perfect at every dance I did.

But if I had to pick a style I love best, tap. I don't know why it's just fun. But I also enjoy just doing whatever I want to in my own time.

Does that make sense?

[That's surprise that flashes across her face, and a small pang of jealousy.] Yeah, that makes perfect sense, [she agrees, nodding.] And I've never actually done proper tap, so you could definitely strengthen that area...

[She glances back at the group of younger dancers as the music picks up again, then to a calendar, seemingly, on the desk.] Would you like to come check out the Studio? [Maybe Dove's a bit too trusting on some things, but if this woman's been dancing since birth, she has to know something, right?]

Would it be something you would want to learn yourself someday?

[As much as she had a goal in mind at the same time she knew she had to keep up the perfect facade. A girl who was kind. Not the way she was really right now.]

I would love to. How soon can I?

[A shrug, and a smile.] Maybe. I'm sure it would take me ages, though, given how thin I've already stretched myself, [she laughs, letting the truth slide immediately off her shoulders. No time to think about what's already done.]

I'm actually in the studio most of this week, [she confirms.] I'll be at a shoot thursday morning, but I'll be around most of the time the other days. What works best for you?

[Lea can't help but chuckle at the situation with the chick. In the background, someone can be heard singing a very off key rendition of "My Darling Clementine".]

Sorry, but I've got my own animal issues.

[Reaches out of frame and retrieves a small lizard, which is revealed to be the source of the off key singing. What the little reptile lacks in talent, it makes up for in enthusiasm, though whether this is cute or not depends on one's perspective.]
