City Guardian nominations are now open.

Current Guardians and newcomers are welcome to run. Current Guardians will continue their positions until the election process is complete. In the case of more than one guardian seeking nomination, a vote will be held. Anyone else seeking candidacy must reply to this message by Sunday, June 9th. If only one candidate's name is submitted, no vote will be necessary and duties may be assumed immediately at the end of the election period. After the nominations are made, Guardian Candidates will be given a period to campaign and the polls will be open June 17th-23rd.

Current Guardians and their deputy teams who are not re-elected will be given a severance package that will last 1 month from the day they leave office to assist in the transition to a new job position.

All candidates must submit the following information upon accepting nominations to be shared with the public. Anyone may nominate but only the official candidate's form will be used in the voter's guide:

Potential Deputies: Choose two (optional).
Candidate Positions: What are some of the candidate's primary positions on local news and issues within the area? Feel free to make things up so long as doing so wouldn't make the current guardian team seem woefully incompetent. Note that guardians cannot change any laws or override the government.
Qualifications: If the candidate has any accomplishments they would like to share with the public, they may do so here.
Baking Expertise: Can you bake a cake? CAN YOU? This strange little question doesn't seem to quite belong, but it's on the IC form. Go ahead and answer it.
OOC: If your character were to be elected, how would you plan to contribute as far as plots and events are concerned? What would you do to make playing in this district more fun for other players? Please note that guardian players are expected to run at least one city-wide event during their term (with encouragement to run more), and contribute 1-10 bounty hunter hooks for their city's section in each bi-weekly newspaper (which may or may not be personally moderated by the guardian player).

Potential Deputies: Android 17, applications for others.
Candidate Positions:
The strain between magical and non magical beings/users/practitioners will continue to be a large focus for me and my team.

It's impossible to ignore that many of Fayren's bounties have involved mages that have gone rogue in one way or another. While I have nothing against magic myself, I understand that it can be misused to devastating extent. That said, I am not for drastic measures such as registering or restricting magic users or the magically gifted. Instead, I would like to reinforce efforts against magical crime and strengthen the consequences that result from misuse of magic. However, should it come down to it, I am not afraid of making hard decisions in order to protect the people who reside in Fayren from being harmed by anyone, not just mages.

For Example: Hold events to foster relations between magical beings and non magical beings so they can work together to accomplish a goal. This includes non human beings as well, should they have decided to reside in Fayren. If someone has come to consider Fayren their home, they are allowed to feel welcome and a part of the city. Overall, These events would require everyone to work together, hopefully to result in everyone seeing the strengths of their neighbors abilities.

This is much the same position that I had before, though there seems to have been a lull in the activity that was a previous concern. I would like to extend my ability to foster discussion and friendship between all factions in Fayren.

Other issues and topics will be addressed as they come up. Unfortunately, I do not have the power to address the rest of the government. I can only act in their stead, understanding that they could some day return.

OOC: I'd like to run more events that play with the fantasy setting. This would include expanding on what's already on the setting page as well as using the freedom of coming up with environmental issues, cultural issues and conflicts, and old unresolved issues like the royal family situation. I would definitely be submitting a nice chunk of bounties for the mods to use as flavor prompts as well.

Papyrus is far less competent than he appears, meaning people won't have to get into godmoding or powergaming to pull a villainous one-over on him. It also means plenty of chances to rescue him and otherwise clean up his messes.

He's not kidding about the puzzles. Anyone who wants to get anywhere in Fayren will have to solve them. It'll be a real infrastructure nightmare dream come true. Fortunately his kind of suck and there's usually an easy shortcut. If you're an aspiring puzzler, feel free to contribute! He loves to collaborate on these things. It'll be an all you can eat deadly spike buffet. And then spaghetti. Horrible, horrible spaghetti.

On the very OOC side, I'll be happy to wrap up the royal family situation. I'll also happily run a little eldritch horror event with a certain muse I'm interested in, if there's enough interest. Fayren, despite Papyrus' claims, won't be the safest. Sorry.

And OFC, as a D&D nerd bounty hooks won't be a problem. I'll even have time to personally mod them, if people want!

Candidate Name: Ted (Theodore technically, but don't use that one. Please.)
City Running for: Everglade
Potential Deputies: (blank)
Candidate Positions: Basic rule of law, competency, and otherwise a copacetic, hands-off approach. Lord knows Everglade has plenty of hornets' nests to avoid kicking.

Though to be frank, the Guardians themselves worry me far more than the city proper. There's not much transparency about what they're up to these days. No news isn't always good news, eh? I'd like to become he who "watches the watchers". Others, of course, are welcome to give me the same treatment. A little more mutuality, a little more check-and-balance, and plenty of communication, particularly towards the public, could do wonders for securing the confidence that we love liberty more than security, lest the latter be lost.

Qualifications: I was a Guardian prior, and one of the few seemingly interesting enough to mention. I've also bounty hunted there for years, giving me a lay of the land and, in some ways, making me more competent than those who let the aforementioned slip through their fingers.

Baking Expertise: Plenty. My mother taught me well, and her lessons were not in vain.

OOC: Ted's apathy about Everglade is perfect and absolute. Aside from it's utility, he doesn't care. This means villains can basically have all the NPC fun they want! OOC'ly I'd like him to scrap with the other guardians if they don't play ball with what he really wants, so look forward to inter-guardian drama if he wins.

His callous disregard for every NPC, always, is sure to spark some fun drama that dwarfs his anti-necromancy stuff by comparison.

As with Papyrus, I am down for an eldritch-horror event or even an ongoing plot if there's enough interest in the Heart of Darkness. No trouble at all submitting flavor prompts for bounties either.

Candidate Positions:
Dealing with a ghome problems with many people apperently having ghomes going missing. I would make sure to try and find out who was behind it

I would also want to have better communication between the Guardians office and the people of the city. They care about their city so much that I would want to make sure they knew what we were doing.

It all depends on if I canon update Rapunzel to the series...If I do there is something neat she can do that villians if they find out can use. Otherwise I would want to do more with the city since this tends to be the one that isn't often used. Plus thinking of bonuties would be fun.

City Running for: Genessia
Potential Deputies: Allen Walker & Bulla Brief
Candidate Positions: I want to continue my focus on keeping contact between the Archways, and being able to help one another in times of crisis! My team will also continue our efforts to make self defense training accessible to all citizens. I think we made a lot of progress over the last six months, but I would like to continue to lay solid framework for the city.

As the center city, it's the duty of Genessia and it's Guardian to ensure that communication and cooperation are efficient between the cities. I think that we can still improve our response time to disasters, including having more shelters available and better evacuation plans. There's still a lot of work to be done! Let's do our best together, Genessia~!
Qualifications: I'm currently the Guardian and have seen a number of incidents in the past six months. My team has successfully created shelters during those times and we managed to send aid to the other cities, as well as securing our archways. I spent some time working in both Attleton and Everglade, lived in Fayren, and have been getting to know Nova City. So I think I'm prepared to begin talks between all of the cities. I'm running a training facility in Genessia as well, where we've been offering self defense training and personalized coaching... Oh. And I can fight.
Baking Expertise: I love baking! My friend and I once made a strawberry shortcake. And you know what? It was even edible that time!
OOC: I like running events~! I've tormented you guys with player-run events already (Memo's nightmares and the Eggtastic baby animals,) but I'd like to trouble everyone event more. There are still so many events I wanted to do, and I think I've learned a lot from my past few endeavors. I've also got some bounties in mind. The kinds of bounties that I could mod slightly so they bite back, and encourage CR through.

As for Satou's Guardian things: I would like her to be able to train more player-characters, so more characters are able to participate in events. There are so many opportunities for characters to learn skills from each other and grow from it. Satou herself is pretty level-headed, and she wants for the changes that she makes to be lasting. That'll mean reaching out to other characters, even civilians, and giving them opportunities to contribute. All in all... Have fun times.

Potential Deputies: Maybe a couple of my coworkers at Jolly Eddy's. Otherwise, I'll do interviews.
Candidate Positions:
-Remove all remaining bans on types of magic and punish abuses of said magic instead
-Severe punishment for all "hunters" who engage in vigilante justice against the supernatural population.
-Research the barrier that feeds on fear and the beings beyond it.

Qualifications: Works at Jolly Eddy's to escort people safely after dark, and runs a successful security business, Runic Security. No customers' homes have been broken into.

Baking Expertise: Baked goods are great!

I'd like to explore the barrier feeding on fear, and Phibrizzo would do things to try to feed that fear because he feeds on negative emotion himself. He'd put up bounties that were more...annoying yet amusing odd jobs that he didn't want to deal with himself rather than actual threats for the most part, because he thinks Everglade should remain the scary place it is.

I have every intention of him being discreetly villain friendly and using his business to help villains with money laundering, seeming legitimate, protecting their secret hideouts, etc. Basically he's a corrupt little jerk, although he will outwardly still protect people if elected.

Potential Deputies: Sakuya Izayoi
Candidate Positions: I plan on looking at the laws on the books. I may only be able to make recommendations, I'm very persuasive. Now, alternative was to strengthen the barrier are another concern.
Qualifications: Current Guardian, former Deputy, volunteer for the Undead Rights group, and I have managed to prevent Everglade from falling into far too much chaos.
Baking Expertise: I may be somewhat out of practice.

Candidate Name: General Grievous
City Running for: Nova City
Potential Deputies: The current team will continue with Trunks Brief and the two privately funded, Colin Enno Diederich III and Kiritsugu Emiya. Other deputies may be taken on, as needed.
Candidate Positions: There has been relative peace and order in Nova and I intend to maintain the city's security and regular patrols. I believe in regular contact with the other City Guardians and their teams and to aid them when appropriate. Our team has kept this city's defenses running very smoothly and this shall continue. I will look into advancing our strength against potential enemies and boost our health services. The groundwork and foundation is already strong and I intend to increase it to be unshakable.
Qualifications: Having been serving as a Deputy for two years, I recently took on the Guardian position when the previous Guardian left unexpectedly. Prior to this, I oversaw armies in many battles.
Baking Expertise: What is this question?

OOC: Diligently serving as Deputy for so long and taking orders, I would love to get Grievous more involved and put more of his own ideas forward. This could lead to events with a battling or technological slant - such as tournaments for people and also creatures (e.g. Pokemon). Running his Trauma Centre, he also could put forth events to fundraise for emotional and mental health with fun marathons (with maybe a twist or two) or scavenger hunts. He's also very familiar with bounty hunting and dedicated to protecting the city so will have a sharp eye on crime - and some interesting crimes can be discovered and put forth for others to catch the criminals. On a side note, he may be open to persuasion from villainous forces, which could also lead to interesting scenarios. He also could end up taking a more aggressive stance once he officially has this power.
Personally I have a lot more time to play as well, so this is the best timing for him to have a more prominent position.
