[June 5th: Action - Genessia City - Bay/City Wandering]
[Maybe you're outside enjoying the nice weather in June, or on your way to work, or in the middle of running an errand. If you happen to be near the Bay at just the right time, a little black cat can be seen emerging, vigorously shaking a wet front paw, then the other, then the back paws one at a time. Held in the cat's mouth by a handy loop of ribbon is the white box all residents get when they arrive. This is set down as the cat meticulously licks the extra water off of its paws, stretches, then picks up the box again to set off at a light and unconcerned trot.]
[The occasional superstitious person freezes up when the cat comes their way, but this kitty doesn't seem to care all that much.]
[Throughout the town the cat wanders, putting down the box to sit for a moment, ear flicking, tail thoughtfully swaying back and forth. Probably trying to decide which alleyway it wants to haunt, since it doesn't seem all that concerned with signs or trying to get into buildings. It just behaves like a normal cat.]

[June 6th: Action - Nova City]
[Cats aren't often seen in this bright and gleaming city. And why would they be? There are no rats, the public receptacles immediately compact and dispose of trash, so a stray cat isn't going to have much luck scrounging around for something to eat...not to mention that people tend to microchip their pets in this high tech city of wonder and convenience.]
[But there's a cat just the same, wandering wherever it pleases. At least with all the hovercars it doesn't have to worry about getting run over, and though its pace occasionally hastens to avoid any uncommon instances of ground traffic, the cat seems relatively healthy and lording it up over all it sees like all cats do.]
[There's a lot of ground to cover in this city, and the cat keeps away from places of heavy foot traffic in favor of traveling lightly on top of railings, poles, and scaling the occasional tree to jump over any 'security' fences that might electrocute anyone who lands on top of it. Sometimes it just sits in the branch and watches the people down below for several minutes. Then it moves on.]
[OOC: Some notes about Yoruichi! Anyone sensitive to spiritual power...won't feel anything unusual! Despite having a great deal of spiritual energy, Yoruichi can compress and hide it. If you do manage to coax the cat into speaking, it sounds like a gruff old man. If you have a very special means of detecting someone in an unnatural shape, let me know! Regular scans from machines will just indicate a normal black housecat.]

Genessia City
Ace likes animals in general, and this one is especially cute. It's really impossible to get cuter than a black cat, and this one is carrying around a box! Ace doesn't even equate this to the box that the arriving residents get, all he can think about is cat.
You'd think with a brother that turns into a phoenix, he'd be a little more aware of what this situation might be, but alas. Kitty. And Ace crouches, trying to get Yourichi's attention.] Hey kitty, where ya headed to?
no subject
[Unbeknownst to Ace, the cat is also getting a reading on his levels of spiritual power. He gives off a strange reiatsu. There's power there, but it isn't the kind Yoruichi is accustomed to sensing. He's mortal. There's nothing spiritual about that energy. How interesting.]
[The cat sets down the box, then settles on its haunches to regard him...and gives one single approving purr.]
Pbbbbbt.
no subject
Hard rejection from animals is the worst.] You hungry? You don't look like you're in bad shape...
Only two cat icons, get used to 'em, ha ha!
[But some provide fish, or rice, or other human-worthy bites, so there's interest at least depending on what's being offered. Yoruichi would never turn down a bowl of milk or cream, certainly.]
[So while the cat doesn't respond, it continues to purr, sides expanding with each exhaled rumble as it lifts its head and sniffs a little at the air all while watching Ace's face.]
o/
He really hopes the cat is still nearby when he gets back. He knows that cats can't understand him, but he really wants to make friends with the animal.]
no subject
[Feeling Ace's unique reiatsu draw closer, the cat's head turns before it gets to all fours again, weaving around the box. It doesn't trot up to him the way a stupid dog would, but the tail is straight up to indicate interest as opposed to wariness.]

no subject
[Plus the fish is actually fried, not just a raw dead thing, so bonus points for that.]
Pbbbbt pbbbbt pbbbbt.
[The black cat stretches itself out beside him, legs coiled beneath its body as it delicatley laps up the milk. Ahhhhh now that his the spot on a nice sunny day!]
no subject
no subject
[There's a couple of rough, sandpaper licks on the side of his arm before the cat looks up at him, purring quietly, as if to ask 'what now'? Of course, Yoruichi has already decided that he would be a useful contact if he likes having a cat around this much. Bases of operation are needed, and the more that can be secured, the better, so long as there's a way to come and go at leisure.]
no subject
no subject
[But then it leaps onto his shoulder and settles itself comfortably there, purring loudly next to his ear, for this is now its home. Oh yay!]
no subject
But the cat leaps onto his shoulder and the purring makes this an especially magical moment. Yoruichi now officially owns Ace and can get food and shelter from him whenever, without question.]
Bay
Hello there, little kitty~♥
Did you come all this way just to visit?
no subject
[Yoruichi has already encountered a couple of people with strange spiritual signatures, and some with none at all which shouldn't be possible. But this girl... Just what is she? Yoruichi doesn't yet approach, but does sit and put down the box to look up at Rottytops, tail curled elegantly around its front paws.]
[This is one who definitely gets Yoruichi's attention, as the cat quietly tries to get a read on what kind of spiritual power the zombie has, what it feels like...]
[And for now there's no reason to be alarmed, as Yoruichi has no idea that cats would wind up as any person's dietary preference.]
no subject
[Rottytops's smile broadens and she looks up at the kitty for a moment. Yuup, that's a cat alright. Having had her fair experiences with them, she's long since learned that the best way to get their attention would be to ignore them completely and have them decide for themselves if they want to visit.]
[So she decides to sit, legs splayed out on the ground.]
Boyy this place is something else. Lots of trees and rocks and oh~ a human city. Doesn't look like Abner and Poe are here, and I don't think that meddling genie would be here as well.
[She turns her voice back to the cat.] Or maybe you've seen them, Mr. Kitty?
no subject
[The cat continues to watch Rottytops as she settles herself down, making herself more approachable. Hmmmm... Yoruichi doesn't yet approach, though for a moment the branch above Rottytops's head is considered as a nice vantage point to listen and still watch the people coming and going. But...the cat refrains, continuing to sit on the warm sidewalk, ear occasionally flicking towards an interesting sound.]
[A meddling genie...interesting. Now what's all that about?]
[Rather than answer the question, the cat lifts its left paw and licks the back of it before settling it back down to stare at Rottytops with that steady gold-eyed gaze. It sounds like she's new to this city as well. Not the best source of information then, but curious enough that Yoruichi sees value in learning more.]
no subject
Hmm... [She checked the pockets of her frayed shorts.] Feeling a little hungry, what do I got...
ABC gum... nah... some of those red thingies that shiny lady was talking about... mm... some coffee beans... [crunch crunch] ...huh, where does that key go to... and we're at bread crumbs and pocket lint.
Blech. [She returns to look at the kitty.] Don't suppose you have anything to share.
no subject
[So no, nothing to share. The cat picks up its box and trots through the grass, just out of arm's reach, heading for the tree. Perhaps that branch can serve another purpose, if Rottytops is content to wait and let the cat climb up.]
[But if she makes a grab for Yoruichi instead, that will certainly complicate matters.]
no subject
No apples up there, Mr. Kitty. [She reaches to stretch.] Well, no sense in staying out here. I don't run on sunlight like you do.
[She stands, patting the dust from her butt and legs.] Guess I gotta risk going into town. Dunno what they'll think to see a zombie girl, but, hey, weirder things have happened.
[And smirks up at the kitty.] Hold the fort, hey? Might need to head back here in a hurry.
no subject
[The cat prowls lightly over the arching branch to settle at the end, looking down at Rottytops as she announces her plans. So she is a zombie. Perhaps it's best after all that the cat didn't get within munching range too quickly, she's seen some of those gruesome comics Urahara's kids like to read. That doesn't necessarily mean she's the same (Rottytops is a lot more eloquent for one thing), but it never hurts to be cautious.]
[Leaving the box safely secured in the upper branches of the tree where it can't be viewed in plain sight, the cat leaps down to land lightly on its paws. Looks back at Rottytops. Trots forward several feet before stopping to sit and look back at her again.]
no subject
[There's a knowing glint in her eye as she gives the cat one more look. A magical cat, maybe? Stranger things has happened, but if anything that only made her desire to eat the thing even more desirable.]
[Seeing that no opportunities would be available soon, she turns to saunter down the road to go to town.]
no subject
[Its paw has been forced. That deserves at least a little respect.]
[The cat's lids lower slightly.]
Almost.
no subject
[She doesn't turn back.]
You know, its not nice to trick people.
no subject
[The level gaze remains on the girl's back, monitoring those levels of magic far more carefully at this sensitive moment. Her abilities aren't yet known, and this could escalate into a confrontation. That's something Yoruichi would rather avoid until there's been proper time to investigate this place.]
Shall I assume you were hoping for a cat-sized snack?
no subject
[She didn't say no.]
no subject
[The cat stretches itself, standing on all fours with the tail low and seemingly relaxed.]
If you're not hungry, then there's no point showing you the way to Everglade. What's your name, girl?
no subject
Who wants to know?
[She's not opposed to offering her name, but she doesn't want to be ordered into it either.]
no subject
Yoruichi. Unless you prefer 'Mr. Kitty.'
Your turn.
no subject
[Her irritation seemingly washes away and she's quickly back to her normal self.]
I go by Rottytops, or Rotty from my friends.
[And a LOT of other names from her enemas.]
no subject
And your injuries? Are those in need of repair, or is that simply your natural state?
[The girl does seem energetic and healthy, but Yoruichi isn't sure what the norm is, having met no other zombies as a basis for comparison.]
no subject
[She raises her arms to see if she has any injuries. Nope, nothing there. Then her legs. Still nothing. Maybe there's something she isn't seeing. Without missing a beat, she puts both hands on the side of her face, pops her head off and lowers it to check her backside. Still nothing.]
[With a small toss and spin, the head lifts up into the air before popping back onto the base of the girl's neck.]
I don't see any injuries, so its probably just you.
no subject
[Yoruichi's stare turns flat, and it takes all of the cat's effort not to sigh outright.]
Well if they're not bothering you, I don't see any point in worrying.
[Raising its haunches, the cat stretches, then begins an easy saunter toward Everglade.]
This way. The map mentioned a shop that dealt in more questionable sources of meat. You should find something that suits you there.
nova city
After arriving in Nova City, first thought in his mind was the grocery store, or market, somewhere small secluded, to pick up small things. Then, his movement came to a halt. Okay, for an instant he felt as if he was being watched. One of the perks of working as an underground hero, or curse. He looked over his shoulder, slowly.
Nothing out of the ordinary just... a cat on a tree. Huh, a cat. There weren't many strays in Nova City, or really the cats were pretty good at keeping themselves hidden. He turned his head, to get a better glance at the feline. Black cat, beautiful eyes. Female possibly judging by it's weight, looked healthy. He stared for a moment before he entered a nearby store.
Moments later, her merged out, looked to see if the cat was still there.]
no subject
[Currently it seems interested in the ships that zip past in the skies above, head jerking sharply from left to right. Look at those things go! Even with a flash step they'd give Yoruichi a good race, were the cat inclined to compete. Such a fascinating and lively city, despite how many others within it are also devoid of any traces of energy.]
[Ah, but the scraggly man that does have an interesting tug of power in his soul has emerged once more, and seems to be looking in the cat's direction once more. A sharp observationist, this one.]
[The cat's head tips down to regard him again, studying him with a steady yellow-eyed gaze.]
[It purrs.]
Pbbbbbbbt.
no subject
So he waits to see if she will come down. She purred, she's already showing affection, which is irregular. Cats don't usually trust strangers.]
no subject
[The cat gets up, arching its back into a luxurious stretch before prowling further down the branch to get a good look at the can's label. It's funny how quick people are to show kindness to a mere cat, but part of the perk that comes with traveling in this form.]
no subject
Huh. This cat is taking her time.]
It's salmon, girl.
no subject
[She meanders to the open can, smelling nothing odd, seeing no evidence of tampering. The offer seems genuine and kindly meant.]
[So she eats, long white teeth snaring morsels of fish that she chews and swallows before licking the flecks off of her muzzle and going back for more.]
Pbbbbbbbbt pbbbbbbbt.
no subject
He watched as the cat helped herself to a feast. There were no other cats in the area. His finger itch to draw closer to the feline. Eventually, his fingers brushed on the tip of it's fur coat. He wasn't sure if she was that friendly so, baby steps.]
no subject
[She even turns her head to lightly lick the tips of his fingers, as he seems in wont of a little affection, and the salmon he paid for out of his own pocket isn't bad.]
[Then she bends her head down, allowing him to continue petting her as she wolfs down the contents of the can. She might as well, she's still got a lot of ground to cover in this city.]
[When she finishes, if he chooses to stick around that long, she's made up her mind to take a minor detour and investigate him further.
His reiatsu is interesting, as is the haggard look on his tired face.
So she hops down, landing on his shoulder with a light thump.]
Pbbbbbbbt.
no subject
When it seemed his visit was done, and he was ready to go, he startled a little when the cat suddenly hopped to his shoulder. Aizawa turned his attention to the feline.]
You're that conformable already?
[He paused for a moment, as if he was expecting an answer. Then he shrugged. There were scents of another cat, which he has at home, and a faint of some people.]
I'm not taking you home. [He clarified as he began to walk with her. He was still walking home. Maybe he could drop her off at a different area or something, who knows. The small paper bag held his contents he purchased earlier, beer, some yogurts, and maybe a magazine about cats.]
no subject
[Ah, but she can definitely pick up the scent of at least another feline lingering about him. That could be troublesome. But perhaps easier too; she can simply make the area around his home a small base of operations rather than staying inside. If he doesn't have a cat door that allows her to come and go freely... Well. Funny as it would be for him to discover a naked woman in his house just so she can open a door, she'd rather travel about in this form a while longer. Information is much more readily obtained from the oblivious.]
[He's taking her home, she's decided. She'd be just as comfortable hanging out on his roof than the foot of his bed, if not moreso.]
no subject
Oh. This is too cute, and his expression doesn't show it. His hand reaches to brush his fingers under her chin. Damn cat affections. Better than Ches. Don't ask about that cat. His house cat though, Lord Destruction, gets along with some cats, probably thanks to Ches.
He sighs lightly in defeat.]
I suppose you can ride a little longer.
[And it's not everyday a cat rides one's shoulder.]
The place is crowded enough as it is anyway. [Excuses, excuses.]
[Action - Genessia]
Not that Shirou is making use of his magecraft at the moment. He's actually just walking home from the grocery store, carrying two bags full of various foodstuffs. Most of that is going to go toward cooking for the next week. When he sees a stray black cat, however, he pauses. Stray cats aren't something he sees very often.]
Huh. That's the first time I've seen a cat here before.
[Shirou looks around. There doesn't seem to be anybody else nearby, and as far as he can tell, the cat isn't wearing a collar.]
I guess you're a stray, eh? That's too bad.
[As much as Shirou would be willing to take a stray cat home (and as overjoyed as it would make Rin), he doesn't move to do so here. Adopting a pet is serious business, and he wouldn't dare bring in a cat that isn't housebroken first. That's not his specialty, so he'd leave that to people running an animal shelter. Still, there is a bit he can do.]
Are you hungry?
no subject
Pbbbbbbbt.
[The purr seems to be an affirmation, followed shortly by an approach of three steps before pausing to see how he reacts next. If he lives here as well, it can't hurt to pick up one more place that serves as a place of rest while considering the information gathered. He's certainly interesting, and thus, worth keeping an eye on for a while.]
no subject
[Shirou goes into his bag and shuffles the contents around until he finds what he is looking for. He pulls out a small can of chicken and tears the lid off. He then puts it on the ground for the cat to eat.]
There you go. This should be good.
no subject
no subject
I hope you enjoyed that. Anyway, I need to head home. Stay safe, OK?
[With that, Shirou turns to leave. His destination is a fancy Japanese-style house in a residential area of Fayren.]
