Solid reasoning, but as someone who has strong talent and skills it just comes across as a lazy choice to me. Still, you know what you're doing and that's obvious. And you really did work the song for all it was worth.

[Hawks just doesn't think there's any real heart involved, especially in comparison to what he's seen so far already. While Gale is obviously the most talented of the group, and very skilled musically, to Hawks he's just not as appealing as the more heartfelt competitors.

But no matter what choices are made, that showsmanship stands out. So he smiles, and nods in response.]
