You may not be comfortable giving your specifics, but I would like to take a head count for magical users. Do we outnumber those who are "normal"? [If you can detect a certain bitterness to that last descriptor, well, there is a reason for it.] As far as I can see, our dear overseer or overseers like interesting sorts.

[By interesting he means "posing some danger".]

For those of you who are new, I am Gellert Grindelwald and I can claim, with a fair amount of comfort, that I am one of the most powerful Wizards in all the cities. But don't be frightened. I usually have a reason for those I strike down.

[She steps out from between the trees. She's in her human form today and there's an Ivysaur sticking close to her heals that's eyeing Gellert up like it's not sure what to think of him yet.]

I'm right here. Hello Gellert.

[All the Pokémon have that reaction to him. Ah well. He brings out the Elder wand and slices his forearm in one swift motion.]

Hello to both of you. [He approaches her and holds out the limb.] Whenever you are ready.

Okay.

[The smell of blood from Gellert's injuries reaches her nose and immediately Lily starts feeling ill from the metallic scent, but she doesn't show it as she's got a job to do, and instead approaches and puts her hands over the injury. She says nothing, merely concentrates on it and calls nature to help her heal the wound. Nature responds quickly to the unicorn, and soon Gellert's injury should start sewing itself back together with not even a scar or a drop of blood left.]

[He feels the flow of magic and there is something very soothing about its purity. His spells are so often enhanced or changed by his emotions, but hers is perfectly...natural. This is why he cannot understand those who call magic an abomination.]

Thank you. [He smiles at the discovery.] You have a wonderful gift. I've never felt anything so pure.

You're welcome, and thank you. I wish everyone thought it a gift, but not everyone agrees that it is. Everything feels okay?

[She's personally encountered those people that would consider magic an abomination.]

Have you been threatened here? [He observes his arm for a moment and nods; his mismatched eyes are more intent on seeing if she has been harmed.] I'm fine. I am something of a healer myself, but I'm not as good as you.

[She shook her head and then smiled.]

No, not here at all. Everyone has been lovely here.

I was referring to back home. You could say the village I grew up in was small minded when it came to anything different from them.

Mine was too. [His expression is grim, but he is relieved too.] I got in trouble for fighting back a few times. But their opposition inspired me to become as powerful as I could be.

Most of those in my village were too respectful of my parents to say anything out in the open until they died, but I always saw the looks and the fear. When my family passed away, it became more hostile as there was nobody between me and them anymore. It's when I started seeing them for what they truly were. I'd planned to leave as soon as my brother's final arrangements were all taken care of, but it didn't work out that way.

[She could still remember when the villagers had come after her.]

I'm really sorry. [He has heard stories similar to hers and it always infuriates him. How can anyone be so blind as to persecute her when they should be praising her?]

Idiots like that can only be taught one way.

It's fine. I'm not there anymore, and they were just afraid. I don't feel a need to blame them for that.

You're kinder than I am. [He smiles darkly, without regret or shame.] I would give them more to fear.

My friend Drago said something similar. I had to keep him from burning the whole place to the ground.

If it's a lost cause and people can't learn, fire can be a great cleanser.

I'm not much for anyone getting set on fire or killed, Gellert. Perhaps it's because I'm a unicorn.
