[It really is hard to tell their gender. At first glance, one would think boy, but that can be misleading. Their voice is feminine, but low. Or maybe they are projecting it lower on purpose.]

You don't need to do that. This thermometer reads it by swiping across your forehead.

[Offered in explanation, with an understanding expression. Taking the thermometer, Trunks pulled out some gauze. Wiping the the sensor-end of the the device, revealed a small roller-ball-in-socket. A brief wipe from another piece of gauze against Akito's forehead and Trunks placed the thermometer against the skin, moving it from one side to another.

Quick and over in less than a minute, as he let the other have their space back while looking at the reading.]
