Further to my ongoing technical research here, I am asking for some volunteers for testing purposes.
I'm afraid that I can't offer you much information beforehand about this test since that could be detrimental at this phase of the development. Just know that it is completely safe for you to undergo this experimentation and there will be no harm or side-effects.
Let me know here if you are interested and I will send you the location to take part.

Action;
My set-up is in the other room. You'll have to stop in there.
[He indicates a closed door just to the right side.]
While you do that, why don't you tell me something about yourself?
Re: Action;
Hmm... Where to even begin? I'm from Earth, South-western Unites States. I served in Starfleet as a tactical officer and acting-captain of the USS Protector.
[She slyly glances his way, expecting some oh-so familiar questions.]
Action;
It sounds like you're something of a hero.
[He doesn't ask, yet, for more specific details.]
Re: Action;
Hero? No, hardly. Given the situation, some things could be considered heroic, but those are tales for another day.
I'm just an explorer first and foremost. A scientist. One who happens to be a good shot.
[She finishes the scanning, saving the data and, as agreed upon shuts it off and stows it away.]
All right, it's through this door, yes? Anything else I need to know about?
Action;
[He gives her a smile then leads the way to the door, opening it.]
Right through here.
[The room is empty - aside from one comfortable-looking chair - and plain with no windows. He switches on an overhead light.]
Please, take a seat and relax.
Re: Action;
[Humble hero. She was just one of hundreds of ships to participate in the Defense of Sol. She feels like she has so little control when she's mercilessly flattered.
But this room, empty save for a chair and a overhead light, it definitely wasn't what She expected. She slowly approached the chair and settled in.]
...This looks like the most cozy interrogation room ever.
Action;
No interrogation, although I may ask some questions.
All you need do is... tell me what you see.
[Beck has his phone out and within seconds of him poking at the screen, the entire room vanishes to be immediately replaced with a fairytale-like forest. Birds twitter overheard in the tall trees; sparkling shafts of sunlight filter down from above. The chair she was seated in has now taken on the appearance of a log. A rough dirt path leads toward a nearby blue lake; and colourful flowers are everywhere. Beck himself has also disappeared. The sights and sounds are vivid but if she reaches out to any of them she will still be able to feel only the floor, walls or chair of the apartment room. Only two senses are being catered for here with this pretty picture.]
Re: Action;
This room is a holodeck? Impressive that it didn't require a wireframe grid structure. She got out of the xhair to examine what she sees.]
I see forest. A tranquil one. Like out of an old story book. Birds chirping. Flowers of all kinds and colors, and...
[A quick look over herself. Half expecting to appear in a princess dress, but still had her casual dress.]
Well, all we're missing is a unicorn.
Action;
[He still couldn't be seen but his voice, sounding slightly hollow or distorted, comes from the direction of where the door had been. Unseen, he adjusts some settings.]
And now? Try to pick one of the flowers.
[If she does as instructed then she'll discover that now she can touch her surroundings and even smell the sweet scent of the flowers. There's a subtle shift in how real everything seems. The air even feels cooler; fresher.]
Re: Action;
She can smell a sweetness from this flower, as well as the smell of the grass all around.]
I must say, you're quite the engineer to build a holodeck all on your own, Mr. Beck.
Action;
Now, don't be alarmed. There might be some static as I apply some variations.
[And indeed there is a noisy burst of sound, like static, before the scene around her completely changes. This time, though, it's something she'll immediately recognise. A memory of her own - but a good memory. A place; a time she was content or happy. But again it will only be sight and sound and scenery. If another person was present at the time then they will not appear here.]
Action;
The scene changed to a rather recent memory. Several young men and women of various species of lifeform, dressed in uniforms of reds, yellows and blues with their families and small luggages beside them, herself included apparently. Nearby is a large shuttle craft, taking passengers.]
This is... How the hell? This is when I was an Ensign, shipping out to my first assignment to the USS Laffey. This was almost a decade ago...
[She hears a meow behind her, though she is still lost in this memory of her past that she doesn't turn to it.]
It's going to be OK, Socks...
[Realizing what she said on habit, she looks to her illusionary luggage, a pet carrier on top with a small cat who, while not fussy, certainly doesn't like being in a carrier. The excitement of beginning her career sailing through the stars, along side the one furry friend who was with her since this very beginning, one that is surely still waiting for her on the Protector, she was getting overwhelmed with emotion.]
I... I think that's enough, Mr. Beck. Or at least tone it down some.
Action;
Was it too overwhelming?
Action;
Just a bit. Lots of things happening at once, you know? [She sighs.] So, is that it? Anything else you want to ask me?
Action;
This was a happy memory for you, wasn't it?
Action;
Yeah, it was. All things considered. Seeing that moment, being there again, I felt that same level of excitement as the first time.
Action;
Your input has been very helpful.
[For a moment he concentrates on the device in his hand, pressing on screen buttons.]
Action;
Then, if we're finished, I'll start the last round of readings.
[She pulls out the device, waiting for his permission.]
Action;
[He looks up.]
Oh. Oh, yes.
But not in this room.
[And he steps aside to let her pass by him, through the door to the main part of the apartment.]
Action;
[She steps outside of the room, not waiting for a reply. It's intended as a compliment, though. Once she made some distance, she puts the device away and pulls out a small picture of her cat.]
...I think I need a drink.
Action;
Don't take this the wrong way, but how old are you anyway?
[He wonders if she's even allowed to drink something stronger.]
Action;
[There it is, a familiar question. One of two of the most common questions Natalia gets asked.]
I get that a lot. I'm 25.
Action; (username change)
[He heads for the kitchen area.]
What's this about your first officer anyway? What did I remind you of?
Re: Action; (fancy name change)
A beer, please. Wine is for holidays.
[Why did she bring up her first officer? She needed to think about that one.]
Well, it's just... You turned quite... What's the word... Methodical? You became fixated on finishing up your side of the study.
Sileia was like that as well. Stoic, quiet, methodical, logical... Wry sense of humor.
Action;
I do tend to take my work very seriously.
[He admits.]
