I must confess, the new additions to my household have been rather pleasant over this last month.

[ His device pans out over his living room where two female Sneasels are napping on his couch. One of them is particularly... pink. Also napping on his couch happened to be his Blaziken who was snoring away in the quiet afternoon. Nikola tilts his camera back towards himself and its apparent that he has a Misdreavus that's vying for his attention against the shiny Eevee snuggled away in his lap. ]

However, I seem to notice an interesting and rather entertaining theme with the ones I've caught. Namely, the majority being ghost types and a few dark or flying types if the literature on the Pokemon gracing our shores is any indication. I supposed if I went looking in places other than Everglade, I may gather more of a variety.

[He finally relents to reach up and gently pet his Misdreavus. Who seems to be rather pleased as she nuzzles into his hand.]

But, I dare say I find myself pleasantly content with what I have. What about everyone else? Has everyone else been having as much luck as I in finding companions among these strange creatures?

[There probably couldn't be a brighter smile on her face. She...might be lying in a rather fluffy pile of tails, a ninetails on either side of her, one white, one cream.]

....I'm pretty happy with the new crew, [she laughs, camera shaking a bit as she squirms just out of reach of one of the ninetails' snooping noses.] Can't imagine the maid is going to like this much, though... [Despite the angel's own tidy habits... it's a LOT of fur.]

[He takes notice of the tails and finds it unsurprising that she would find herself such exquisite creatures.]

I suppose that's where I luck out. Most of my new companions don't have fur. Though, I do find feathers on occasion.

[They are rather luxurious... as the rest of her team is shaping up to be.]

Feathers? ...from the Blaziken?

[She'll admit it- the bird freaks her out a bit.]

Yes. He sheds them on occasion. Though, I suppose a few feathers here and there aren't that bad.

[He doesn't see why his Blaziken should freak her out...He's a gentle sweetheart.]

A few feathers aren't too bad at all, [she grins. She of course, wouldn't dare think of shedding... but it makes a funny joke anyway.]

How is your little silver 'lovey' faring? [She adores the little eevee, but then...she's fond of the type as it is.]

You've stuck only to Everglade, then? I haven't seen half of those...

[They've never met, but the purple ghost has caught his eye.]

Did catch my girl, there, though... [Cue his little white vulpix popping over his shoulder to check out the feed herself.]

Yes, I have. I shall admit, I have quite a few more than just what is seen here.

[Nikola's attention is drawn to the cute white fox now looking over his shoulder.]

Oh? I have yet to see one of those. Though, I do see plenty of my own girls whenever I go hunting.

[He shifts the camera back to his two sleeping sneasel's.]

Though, I have yet to see another like my pink one.

[He reaches up to gently scratch the vulpix's head as he gives an appreciative nod toward the pink one.]

I've caught a few sneasels myself, but none of have been pink... pretty, though. Professor says he's seen a couple odd looking pokemon running around. I've got a strangely colored 'grimer' myself.

Oh? How so?

[Now he's really curious about variants as he glances towards his sneasels. One of them even seems to be stirring a little from her slumber.]

The only other variant I've been graced with is my Eevee.

[Okay, it took some doing and some testing, but she managed to figure out a way to prop the communicator just right so that it shows her in the full glory of her sabertooth cat form. Effort, but it's worth it for this joke.]

What about those of us who are strange creatures?

[Joke or not, Nikola doesn't seem startled in the slightest at seeing a sabertoothed cat.]

For those of us that are strange creatures, we must take our time to appreciate others cut from a similar cloth.

[He smiles a little as his Misdreavus floats a little closer to his device to peer at her.]

Besides, I apparently need to get out more if I've missed such a large cat walking around.

[The sabertooth cat shifts into a red-eyed human.]

You know what? I like you already! As for why you haven't seen me, I'm new here and I'm not always a large cat.

I suppose I should be flattered.

[He chuckles softly.]

That being the case, welcome to this rather strange and unique place. I'd suggest finding a way to settle in. You may be here awhile.

Yeah, I've already gotten started on the whole settling in thing. It's troublesome, but I've dealt with no small spare of trouble.

[He nods slightly while his Eevee tries to get his attention once more.]

I agree that settling in was troublesome but, there's hardly been much in the way of true trouble since I arrived... Last October I believe. Or, somewhere roughly around there.

So it's pretty peaceful, then. Gives me time to get used to being physical, I suppose.

Oh? If you're not having a physical presence, then how do you normally interact with the world?

I'm a native of the Dream World, which is formed from humanity's collective unconscious. It's completely different in nature from a physical world. Much more malleable, for one thing.

[...And that immediately catches his attention as he sits up a little straighter.]

I see.

I wasn't aware that beings from the dreaming could come into the physical world, period. I know that it was possible within my world, just not here.

Really? Where I come from, it's not really possible. Which is why I'm pretty surprised about finding myself in a physical body.

Interesting.. I admit, I do find interests in comparing worlds but..

[He shakes his head and smiles slightly.]

I'm also sure that such things would take more time than any one person has at their disposal. So, I shall welcome you to the physical realm and advise you that food is delicious and something you should consume often.

I find myself rather enamored with cakes and coffee the most personally. It's not something that's available in my world.

Indeed, worlds're absurdly detailed like that, aren't they. Part of what makes them interesting, though.

So far I've managed to go most of a day without eating and not felt any sort of discomfort. We'll see if that stays the case. So far I've been getting by on scaring people. Oh, yeah, I'm a Nightmare. Being terrifying is what we do.

[Pause.. well. this just got slightly awkward for him.]

Ah, I see.

Yes, worlds most certainty are and moments like this make me rather relieved to be in this particular world instead of my own. You look nothing like the nightmares of my world and for that I'm slightly grateful.

Most of us're relatively harmless. We give people bad dreams, and then they wake up and it's over with. There're exceptions. Like that fucker The Foreign Thing. She's the embodiment of xenophobia and delights in it. She's stirred people to violence.

But really all of us are different. There're the good, there're the bad, and then there're the neutral like me.

I've amassed quite the collection of companions as well. Glad to hear you're enjoying all this though. I've been enjoying it myself.

[Jenny's smiling just as her Charizard pops its head in close view of the camera before snorting at it as if insulted she was paying attention to her phone and not him. Looks like someone wants to take up all her time.]

[He's noticed as the Charizard pops into view.]

I'm glad to hear that as well. Perhaps we should get together soon and let our Pokemon mingle a little.

Perhaps.

[Her Charizard looks between her and her phone for a moment before it moves its fiery tail underneath her phone, making Jenny move it away.]

Hey, don't try to burn my phone!

[She looks back into the camera.]

Seems someone wants my attention.

[Jealous yet?]

[Maybe a little. Though Nikola already knows he has the Charizard beat in certain aspects ~~he hopes~~]

Apparently. It might do him some good to have someone to spar with if he has that much energy.

[She laughs as the Charizard tries to take her phone away this time and she again pulls it away from him before he can.]

I have to agree, though I warn you he's a spitfire.

[Pun intended.]

[Somehow, he's not surprised at the pun. Though it does make him smile.]

Mine are no pushovers either. At least, not my Rotom or my Blaziken. So they might do the trick in wearing him out.

[Here's a little girl that's sitting on a grassy patch, flanked by a weird rock formation and a small tree on either side of her. Looking closely at the background, it seems to be moving slowly.]

Romani met lots of these creatures. Romani's first one grew up into a Torterra!

[The land beneath her heaved with a low, small roar behind the camera. It's safe to assume now that she's riding on said Pokémon.]

[That..well now. Nikola's definitely surprised at seeing the Torterra.]

It's remarkable. My first has grown as well though my Blaziken's rather...gentle opposed to his supposed fighting typing.

[She sways side to side slowly, trying to see which one in the background is Blaziken. She isn't sure which one since she's never seen any of those Pokémon before.]

Torty often hides in his shell if you compliment him. Or tries to.

[Suddenly! A berry falls from the tree. Romani picks it up and holds it up towards the tree. A feathery head of a Staravia reaches down, coming into view of the camera, and plucks the berry out of her hand and retreats.]

So there are fighting types also? They like to fight?

[Once he realizes that she's looking around for his Blaziken, he shifts the camera to show the snoozing fighting bird sprawled out on the couch. He's rather tall compared to the rest of the Pokemon present and doesn't seem to mind the Sneasel practically sleeping on his feet.]

I admit, my Devon tends to get a little shy at a compliment but, he accepts it gracefully in the end. As for the fighting types, I think it depends on the Pokemon. Devon seems to be a fire and fighting type but, his nature is a gentle one.

[He smiles slightly.]

He fights when he needs to though, when he doesn't he's rather content just playing with others or napping with them.

[So that's a Blaziken. She expected it to be on fire or something. And look at it hog the couch!]

It's good to feel safe with these creatures, isnt it? Romani wants a dog, but Torty is very strong even if he moves slow.

Romani feels safe still.

[Mimikyu and Araquanid are rather intimidating, though.]

I have come across a few Pokemon.

[She has two Magikarps that were currently swimming around happily that sort of stood out since they were in the background.]

They all seemed to be different depending on where you went. But you were right about Everglade it seems you wee ost likely to see ghosts.

They are rather interesting I must admit. They have so much potential to do so much that others might not even think about.

[Her Pokemon are currently behind her while she was focused on the device.]

But my method was mostly finding ones that I thought would be useful for me more than what others might have been looking for.
