[Action]
[Manipulating the contents of the tiny white box wasn't easy for an enormous monster crab, but eventually, he managed. His eyestalk carefully examines the communicator. It's unusual. Useful. He'll keep it, he decides, and flings it onto the back of his gold-encrusted shell. The maps, brochures, pamphlets, and little red slips of paper? Worthless, and scattered haphazardly in the waters of the Bay. --Ooh, now this pretty little pendant is much more his style! He grins at it toothily before it, too, joins the treasure hoard on his back.]
[After squeezing through the exit, knocking over the magazine stand and not even caring at all, Tamatoa emerges into the sunlight of Genessia City.]
[People stop.]
[And stare.]
[The smart ones flee immediately as Tamatoa frowns.]
What is this? What are all these tiny little humans doing here?
[This absolutely isn't his lair, and last he heard, the humans weren't nearly so...how shall he put it...comfortable. His eyestalks dart left and right as his foul temper builds.]
You.
[He selects a person at random, snatching him or her up in one big claw.]
Explain to me how the king of the realm of monsters...which is me, in case you were wondering, I am the king...has now found himself in this world. Well?
[He gives his claw a little shake to dislodge some answers.]
Tamatoa doesn't have all day!
[OOC: And here he is! Please check his Permissions Post and let me know if there's anything in particular you're okay with or not okay with. For his intro, I'd like to contain all responses in just one thread so reality doesn't splinter off in too many different directions. So if you respond, get ready for possible group interactions! He'll be hanging out in Fayren eventually for individual meetings.]

Unfortunately, she cannot keep her mouth shut for the life of her.]
Hey, it's okay! No need to be so crabby about it.

Is that supposed to be helpful? Or funny? It is neither.
[He squeezes his informant a little tighter, making it difficult for the person to breathe.]

[She's trying to remain calm and cheerful. She has a sword at her side, but she's keeping it sheathed- She does not want to have to use it if she doesn't have to.]
Listen, you're clearly very stressed, confused, new world, all of that. I get it! I do. I've been around this block a few times, so I remember what it was like at first. So why don't you put down that person, and we can go get some drinks, and I'll explain what the deal is.

What kind of 'drinks' would be suitable for a king of monsters?
[He flings the person aside, who bellows gutturally as he flies into a small crowd of people to be dismissed and forgotten. At least he put him down. That's generous of him, and worthy of praise. Which he isn't getting, of course, so that just makes him cranky. He looms closer to Rose, his shadow easily eclipsing her smaller form.]

She hopes she's on the right track.]
I have no idea, of course. I'm no queen of monsters, myself. But I know a good bar with good drinks... Though, you might not fit in the front door, but I can get the drinks and bring them out to you. Unless you have a specific drink you want in mind?

[He decides that having a servant bring him free things is perfectly acceptable. It's not like he's ever really done much drinking; he's a crab. Salt water hydrates him just fine. But the allure of fancy drinks interests him, so if he plays this smart...admittedly not his greatest strength...he might be able to hide his ignorance of human beverages and still be pleased by what he gets.]
A specific drink? Isn't it obvious what kind of drink is the very best for one who glitters and shines, such as I? Go, fetch me these drinks. Run along.
[He'll follow, and politely not crush the bar in question. He's the essence of good manners like that.]

[That... She can work with that. If he's calling attention to glitter and shine, he must care a lot about outward appearances- That was obvious from the shell. So, maybe even a name will be enough? She can, at least, hazard an idea on how to placate him.]
Well, for someone like you... A bottle of sparkling cider, maybe?
[She puts emphasis on that word, hoping it gets his attention.]

[His pointed legs clatter on the pavement as he scuttles forward, intrigued, but still wary. This had better not be a trick; he's getting what he demands without any problems, and while he expects that with fish, human creatures are seldom so generous at flinging their goods in his direction without wanting something in return.]
Show me.

[She's gonna look up at Tamatoa, making a frame with her fingers as she examines him to try to judge his size.]
For you, I'd say a liter is probably about enough for a taste test? And there's more afterwards if you like it.
[With that, she's going to start heading over to the bar she works at, disappearing inside temporarily to come back out with a bottle.]
Here's the test bottle! All for...
[Pause. Looks at his pincers.
She's gonna open up the bottle herself before handing it over.]
All for you!

[Tamatoa doesn't reach for it. His bulbous eyes squint suspiciously. Yes, this is coming much too easily, he doesn't trust it. If their positions were reversed, he definitely would have done something tricky and/or self-serving and/or wicked.]
Why don't you taste it first? Go on.
[He leans in closer, the rank smell of rotten fish and sun-dried seaweed clinging to his breath.]
Take a swig.

Are... you sure? I mean, I don't mind, I'll never say no to a good drink, but most people are worried about sanitation... I mean, I guess it's fine, but...
