[August/September Catch-All]
[Video - Last Week of August]
[Kimberly is sitting on her bed with her legs folded beneath her, and she sighs dramatically.]
I guess it doesn't matter which world you're in. Summer is always gone too fast, and school is right around the corner.
[She did have fun shopping for school supplies and fall clothes to wear, but the thought of going to class without any of her friends? That's the part that's hard to swallow. So she'd better start building up a support group, since she can't be the only one in this position.]
So! Who's going back? I thought it might be nice to figure out some stuff first, like trying to share classes, making some study groups, eating lunch together...you know, fun stuff! Maybe we can start up a few clubs too, depending on what they don't have around here. Like, we were totally into an environmental club, and gardening, gymnastics, and some of my friends taught martial arts after school.
[She shrugs and smiles, leaning over her legs.]
So what do you guys think? I mean, at least it's going to be interesting going to school with like, aliens and fairies and stuff. Can't say I've ever done that before.
Skeletons and Pokemon [Closed to Papyrus]
[So Kimberly kind of really loves Fayren. Would she want to live there? Uh, no, it has none of the creature comforts a modern teenage girl loves and craves. But it's a super cool place to visit, and she's always craning her neck in hopes of spotting a unicorn or a fairy. No luck yet, but she keeps taking the woodland paths just in case today is the day!]
[Today is not the day. It's the day of a couple of bandits who think a girl walking alone is an easy target to scare into coughing up her coin purse, but she soundly thrashes them even without the need to morph into the Pink Ranger. Cowardly creeps, hopefully that'll teach them a lesson. Better report that to Papyrus so he knows there are losers lurking around that area.]
[She knocks on the door and stands back. Now that she's not walking through a crowded town of peasant folk who would totally freak out if they saw her Aerodactyl, she releases the Pokemon from its ball so it can stretch its wings and flap its way up to the top of the skull-like (sort of) pagoda.]

Bounty Hunt - Drone Caper [Closed to Rosetta Stone]
[After taking a sneak peek at the bounty board, Kimberly's first thought was a big fat "Yikes." That's a lot of crime! Her second thought was that maybe this sleepy little peaceful place had more going on than she realized, and she should probably do something about that. Not everyone who gets yanked to Genessia is a secret warrior with cool morphing powers, after all, and even if this has nothing to do with Rita Repulsa and her super gross goons, there's still some good a Power Ranger can do.]
[The Boardwalk Butcher seems like it would be right up her alley, since she's an avid roller blader and could definitely play the part of bait. The tough part would be doing it alone without back-up. That could get her killed. Someone else signed up for it, though, so that's kind of a relief. If she can figure out a way to send a message anonymously, she might be able to help if this Hamato Yoshi person is going it alone.]
[For now, she decides to go after the Drone Caper in Nova City. It looks like it's pretty urgent, and she can definitely reach high-flying drones with her bow. She could totally call on her pterodactyl zord too! She doesn't sign up for it, just shrugs and walks on. If she leaves a note, it could be traced to her. She'll just handle it discreetly since she's not doing this for the paycheck anyway.]
[Nova City still takes her breath away. Finding a private place to transform isn't easy, but at least she only needs a couple of seconds to hold out her power coin and call out "Pterodactyl!" before there's a flash of bright pink light, and the Pink Ranger is now on the case. Best of all, she doesn't really stand out even with the helmet and boots and form-fitting armor. Lots of people in Nova City dress that way.]
When in Rome!
[Or Nova. She moves through the streets, checking her map to see which stores were already hit, and circling the ones that carry similar tech and components. Billy would definitely be better at narrowing down where the culprit is going to strike next, but maybe she'll get lucky.]
[The drone alone might have slipped to the location easily enough without being spotted, since it's small and Nova City is full of flying cars and objects. When there's a blaring alarm, and it's got metal parts clutched in its metal fingers, Kim can totally see it.]
Not so fast, metal mister!
[Her bow snaps into her hand as she draws back and takes careful aim as she pursues. If she shoots from too far away, there's a risk it'll drop what it's carrying onto someone in the crowd. As soon as she's just a few feet behind it...a flash of light shoots from the bow, blowing off one of the drone's legs. Darn, she was hoping she'd take it out, but as it veers with the uneven weight distribution, its other leg pops off. Down goes the cargo! Kimberly ups her speed and vaults nimbly into the air, catching the metal thingamajig, and landing in a crouch.]
Gotcha! Easy as pie.
[She spoke too soon. The drone veers around, and what looks like a turret pops out of its front.]
...Hoo boy...
[It fires. The Pink Ranger dashes to the side, trying to get away from the crowds as people start to panic and scream.]
Come get me, laser breath!
[Is there any point in sass talking a robot? Probably not, but old habits are hard to break. She somersaults and comes up on her feet, darting to the left toward the quieter industrial areas. She needs to find a place to put this doohickey down so she can shoot back, but for now, getting to a place where she can fight without endangering anyone else is priority number one.]

First Day of School [OPEN!]
[For all of Kimberly's hopes of attending school with a bunch of non-human species, it's actually super normal. She should have expected that, the people who live here who don't wear pendants are all normal humans, so of course the students aren't going to be anything wild or crazy either.]
[In fact, the classes are definitely on the normal side. Math, Literature, Biology, Home Economics, P.E., and Art.]
[Schedule in hand, Kimberly tilts her head, brows furrowed.]
Weird...no geography or history...?
[The city's pretty small, so she supposes geography wouldn't really make sense. No one knows anything beyond the archways. But it seems like there should be at least some semblance of history, or even foreign language options. Nope. Maybe the other schools have stuff like that, but Genessia City High is on the bland side.]
[She attends her classes, not really looking forward to math or biology, but the rest are fine.]
[When she chooses her seat, she tries to find a spot in the middle rows near a window. Before the bell rings to signal the start of class, she glances around, trying to spot any familiar faces. Are you a classmate in one of those six periods? Expect a friendly introduction if she doesn't know you, and a study buddy if she does.]

And then she hears the screaming. And the sounds of... Was that gunfire? A little different. Rose bolts, towards the danger, on instinct- She has a sword, glowing pink, in one hand as she vaults over a fence to land beside Kimberly.
And then she has to doubletake.]
Wh- Ptera Ranger?!
[A couple of notes- She definitely seems to recognize that. There's a note of confusion and delight in her voice as she says it.
Second, she absolutely pronounces the 'p' in 'ptera'.]
-- Geek out later-- My ranged attacks aren't worth a damn, so-! I'll cover you, you snipe that shit down!
[She's holding up her sword in front of her, swinging it, and it's knocking the lasers away into the ground...]
[She feels like she has a new purpose here, which gives her a good feeling that she hasn't felt in a long time, if ever.]

THE GREAT PAPYRUS IS FINISHING HIS OATMEAL!! HE WILL NOW ANSWER THE DOOR!!
[That blaring monologue wasn't difficult to hear even from outside. Breakfast nobly consumed, he leaped from the kitchen and dashed to the door. That's Papyrus: prompt, punctual, and so, so popular. He greets Kimberly with a smile; why, she's no knight! Clearly she has something more fun and personable in mind.]
'SUP, KIMBERLY?? WHAT BRINGS YOU TO MY SKULL-FORTRESS? ASIDE FROM MY PERSONAL MAGNETISM, NYEH HEH HEH!!
[She informed him of the losers. Aww, phooey. Business after all? Unless...]
THE GREAT PAPYRUS THANKS YOU FOR YOUR REPORT!! WE'LL FLUSH THOSE BANDITS DOWN THE PIPES OF JUSTICE!! GOOD WORK!! ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING DEPUTY #3??? WE COULD USE SOMEONE WITH SUCH SENSITIVE ROBBER RADAR!!
