[A new face pops up on the screen today. He's soaking wet from having fallen out of the pod and landing in the shallow water. If he had spent a bit less time rolling around and more time standing up, he wouldn't have gotten half as wet. Unfortunately he did not do that.]

Okay. So the whole waking up in a giant cocoon thing? I'm not going to lie, that was pretty metal. Anybody mind telling me what a Genessia is? Casey Jones has better things to do than read pamphlets.

Oh, by the way. The names Casey Jones, I'm probably the most awesome person you'll ever meet.

Genessia is the name of the city you're in. There are four others attached to it. I'm in Fayren right now! ...And the pamphlet explains an awful lot, so you should probably hang onto it for reading later when you have a chance to get settled.

Young man, unless you have some sort of superhuman power, I'm afraid that attitude of yours will be more of a hindrance than help. This place - Genessia - is populated primarily by people who have either dedicated their lives to learning a marital art like my students, one of whom you have already met, or have some power that sets them apart from normal humans.

Even if you do have power to back your words, I would suggest not advertising that attitude. Many would take issue with it, and will only serve to make you enemies.

[Casey just stares at the phone after she hangs up, then looks up and smirks.]

Let me tell you right now, Casey Jones doesn't need any superpowers. I'd be considered OP and banned from tournaments if I had any. I chill with martial artists all the time and took on a giant space worm single-handed.

Just to give you a taste of the people you will run the risk of angering with that sort of attitude, there is a young woman here that can slice buildings in half with a single swing of her sword. The student of mine that you have already spoken to is one of the most talented and hard working glyph users I've seen in years. If she wanted, she could freeze you to a single spot in ice thick enough it would take a jackhammer to crack it. And that's just two of many, many more.

I say this for your own benefit. However, I will not come to your aid should you anger the wrong person, nor would I blame my students for looking the other way. This place has made victims of all of us. Ordering people around and placing yourself on a pedestal is not going to do anyone any favors. Especially when you fail to live up to that pedestal you place yourself upon.

You may not have explicitly done so, no. However, the implication was there. I suggest you work on your humility before you end up on the wrong side of the very powerful people assembled here. I do not know who you were in your world, or what you are capable of. However, who you were has no bearing in this place. Nobody has ever heard of you, and they do not care for your reputation before.

You have a fresh start here. I suggest you make the most of it, and earn your reputation once more.

Yes, actually, I am. In the world of Remnant, I am the Headmaster of Beacon Academy, training the finest warriors in the Kingdom to fight the monsters that are bent on sending humanity back to the void.

I am not saying you are not special. However, here, "special" has lost its value. In order to regain whatever reputation you had, you will need to prove yourself in an ever escalating environment.

In my world, I was regarded as a warrior of immense skill and wisdom. Here, I am overshadowed by a great many, including some of my own students.
