Shadaloo and You
Genessia was in for several shocks. The first of these was when their favorite television programs were arrested in favor of something a little more...red. After the initial static, the image became clear as the inner workings of a tv studio appeared. Suddenly, an ovular, shadowy void appeared in the middle, followed by a bulky, cloaked figure emerging.
It was M. Bison.
"Greetings, worms! It is I, your future ruler and master, M. Bison. I hope you've enjoyed your holidays, for all that is about to end. For New Year's, I've resolved to usher in a new era of pain and suffering. To start with, I will show you the futility of your precious Guardians as they fail to save your city from destruction. Genessia city, to be precise. Channels 3-8 will allow all of you to see your fragile metropolis crumble before your eyes."
To elaborate, each of those channels showed the following:
3. Jack's Bar and Karaoke Club is looking both lively and dead. There's disco musing blaring in the background, but no one's dancing. In fact, all the patrons gaze at a large disco ball on the ceiling, held in a stupor. A muscular man with boxing gloves sits in a chair, grumbling. "Buncha stiffs. What good will brainwashing these punks do?"
4. A Korean woman with skimpy clothing, and a yin-yang symbol in her left eye is seen hunched on the ground, next to the hospital. She gets up to reveal that she has just finished planting C4 charges. With a wicked grin, she turns to the camera, and tosses a detonator up and down. "Come and get it, losers!"
5. The hum and whirr of machinery presents itself to your ears as you see a masked figure with a large claw attached to his arm. To the mechanically astute, they'll recognize it as the Genessia Power Plant. He walks lazily to a control panel, apparently a pretty important one. "How will these hideous wretches survive the cold without power? Feh. Let these ugly flowers wilt." With a gleam, he raises his claw, before cutting the feed.
6. This one's a split screen. On the left, one can see some citizens bound and gagged, next to a strange device they all look very afraid of. It's making a beeping noise. On the right, one gets a glimpse of the coliseum in Attleton. A very large man with an eyepatch has brutally smashed his knee in a would-be contestor. As he crumples to the ground, He turns to the camera. "Weak! Is this truly all your pathetic city has to offer! If you wish to unseat the king, you will have to do better than that!" Looking closer, you can see a device strapped to his chest similar to the one on the previous screen. Perhaps they're connected...
7. Rushing water can be heard as vats of an unknown chemical are moved to and fro by two women, wearing something between a jumpsuit and a sweater. By the dingy look of things, this must be the sewers. More specifically, the water treatment plant.
8. A normal looking suburb, aside from the fact that people are running and screaming. The source of their fear? A large, 2-ton freak with a humanoid form, raging and smashing without the barest trace of intellect or control.
Back to channel 2, Bison was there with an evil grin of his own. "Are you frightened, weaklings? You should be. For I present a nightmare without end. And for dessert, I challenge Captain Hammer himself to display his impotence in the face of this terror for all to see. Don't keep me waiting. Mwuh heh heh heh heh..."
OOC: It begins! In case you couldn't tell, here are the people and their matchups.
Channel 2: Bison & C. Hammer
Channel 3: Balrog & Yang
Channel 4: Juri & Open!
Channel 5: Vega & Blake
Channel 6: Cherise & Sagat
Channel 7: Juni & Juli, Ruby & Janos
Channel 8: Big, rampaging monster and open!
These aren't set in stone. If your characters wanna gang up on one of the Lords of Shadaloo, by all means! Know, however, that Bison may have to beef up security in kind. Okay it with the original people first, of course, in case they'd prefer a one-on-one. If you don't care for the people and just wanna go to town on some Shadaloo mooks, that works too.
With regards to winning and losing, it's up to you! We can play it out naturally, but I don't mind getting whooped, or succeeding and doing some heavy damage to Genessia's infrastructure.
When you're ready to step into the ring, comment with your characters in the appropriate section.

I see you lookin', lookin'
I see you starin', starin'
She smiled, crimson eyes locked on her target.
"Heh."
So it was going to be like that, was it? Awesome~
Is it me? Or my clothes?
Or how I wear 'em? Wear 'em?
She powered herself straight for him with the recoil of her gauntlets firing off a single shot, driving her other fist at his gut while her other arm cocked back to reload. Her fists barreled into him, unleashing a barrage of brute force and fire.

He shook his head, loogied some blood, and concentrated. This freaky chick looked like...well, he didn't know, but something serious. So he had to get serious. No more games. He reached over and Fonzie'd the jukebox with his glove for something more pimpin'.
He psyched himself up. Look Pimpin; I ain't playin'
He could win, Balrog knew it. In a minute, you're gonna be layin'. On the ground, I ain't messin' around, my city, my rules, my money, my town.
He brought his gloves up to his nose. "Sh, sh sh!" He tested a few jabs. His punches were faster, arms longer. He just had to leverage that to his advantage. He needed one opening, and he'd give it the ol' Violent Buffalo.
You just sealed your fate. On the holidays that'll be one less plate.

She ducked and dived, zig-zagging closer to him with a masterful Dempsey roll, until he was within range of her fists.
Elbows tucked in close to her sides, she pummeled the mighty boxer with a barrage of carefully aimed rabbit punches all into the same spot on his ribs. "What is it! With you! And auto-tuned! SONGS!"

But Balrog bid his time, focusing his anger and pride into patience, a virtue he employed only to bloody someone's gob. Eyes like a hawk, he watched the timing between her attacks. Making sure he got her rhythm correct, he waited for an extension of that time, where he'd wedge in his ultimate attack.
These attacks also served to make him angrier. He wanted to beat this chick, up close and personal, not send her away 20 yards with a series of dashes. He'd go for the Dirty Bull instead.
There was his chance. When her arm was fully pulled back, he went for it. Time seemed to freeze as he brought his face right next to hers, leering. He let loose a mighty headbutt, knocking her away. Or it would, if he didn't pin her foot with his, making sure she'd be standing for his next attack. He finished with a cross punch, letting off his foot so that'd she hit the ground this time.
After all that, he shrugged his shoulders. "What can I say? It gets me fired up to knock down chumps like you."
That cross punch had caught a little more than it bargained for, as Balrog wondered at a piece of blonde hair in his glove. Crazy chick must shed like crazy when she lights herself on fire like that.

Well she took me by the hand, I could see she was a fiery one.
Planting her palm against the floor and pushing against her knee, Yang forced herself upright. Balrog packed a powerful punch, and her aura was starting to drop. She shook her head, unwilling to lose. Not now.
Her legs ran all the way up to heaven and past Avalon.
She drew up her fists, scraping together her courage...when she saw a glint of gold dangling from Balrog's glove.
Tell me somethin' girl
Her hair.
What it is you have in store.
He'd hurt. Her hair.
She said 'Come with me now...'
Whatever her aura levels might have been before, they were suddenly bursting through the roof as she roared in rage, eyes crimson, hair blazing.
On the Devil's! Dance! Floor!
In a flash she had closed the distance between them (Well swing a little more,), hammering her left fist into his face (little more o'er the merry-o!), her right following suit.
Swing a little more, a little more next to me!
"MONSTERRRRR!" Yang bellowed, each punch driven by the recoil of an incendiary shot.
Swing a little more, little more o'er the merry-o!
Her fist reared back as she screamed with fury.
Swing a little more!
Drove it into Balrog...
On the Devil's!
...sending him flying through the club wall...
Dance!
...and skidding into the snowy streets of Genessia.
Floor!

The virtual display put Yang's profile at the fore as it digitally announced her victory. While Balrog's payout would be lost, the rare few would see a bump in their bank accounts for those who bet on blonde.
The patrons, meanwhile, were starting to arise from their stupor. Indeed, some of them were completely out of it, enjoying the show and whistling with their fingers in their mouths. Such was the entertainment of Street Fighting.

She smiled as she turned, examining the cheering crowds. She touched two fingers to her lips and tossed them an air kiss, then strutted down the street.
One goon down, one point for the good guys!
