The Paperboy

[Some of you may have never heard of The Paperboy. How blessed your lives are......until he makes his return at the end of next week to start delivering newspapers once more. Do you feel a sense of rising dread? This is why. In the meantime, enjoy the bliss of your daily lives, get settled, and explore the city. Here's what the weather will be like if you need the reference.]

Cloudy with a chance of DOOM )

[OOC: For those who don't know, or for those who merely want a reminder, The Paperboy will deliver a weekly newspaper featuring weather, current events, and/or columns and features written by the city's residents. So if there's a story you'd like mentioned about events that are taking place, or if you want your character to publish something, feel free to let me know in the comments section below. It should be noted that mentions of current events in the paper are usually delivered in a fairly sarcastic tone, and may be twisted (as reporters are wont to do) to be misleading or embellished in an extraordinary way.]

Dean Winchester

[the feed at first is shaking, clearly not even meant to be on. His hand is wrapped around the bottom half of the feed, and the scenery you can see on the screen.... everything is washed out and grey.]

No, no, I'm not back here. [the muttering to himself breaks off abruptly as he whips around at the sound of rustling. he turns a 180, and you're seeing the same patch of ground you just did before he veers to the left.... and the ground just stops and turns into concrete and is clearly more of a road. He stuffs the comm into his pocket, still clearly not even thinking about it camera facing the action luckily for you guys.]

What the hell is going on?

[There's a few flitting scenes as he doesn't really stay in them long enough, walking through them with interest, until one. He hits a dead-end alley with brightly coloured graffiti plastered on the walls. But that's not what he's looking at.]

I'm not a good fit, Dean. Not with vampires and, for sure, not with the humans. I don't belong. And after a while... that starts to wear on you. Right? Cry me a river. Like you need to listen to this.

[the feed's sound is muffled, but suddenly, he's reaching for his comm, determined to see if anybody knows what the hell is going on, he can feel the answering line on his lips even though it's not him saying it, there's a goddamned not-person there playing his part for him even as he stands here, and.... he can see what's coming, the realisation of what he's watching bursts into his head, as unwelcome as the scene.

Nonono.]
Benny, No!

[The comm drops to the floor, cutting off with a clatter, the last thing on screen being an upwards shot of a face that says he's just about to watch someone die. And he's just rooted to the spot, distraught and unable to do a thing but watch.]

Raye Hino | Sailor Mars
22 November 2013 @ 04:59 pm
Hey. Seems like we got a lot of new people at once, so allow me to welcome you to the city. My name's Raye. I've been here about...probably a year now? Close to it, anyway. If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them, but Harry's fliers next to the Bay cover most of the basics.

Let me know if you need help with anything.

[Private to Harry]

I'm guessing I was the only one of us that wound up in snoozeville. Knowing you, you're probably moping around acting like the loneliest scruffy wanderer in the world. Well, I'm up now, so it's time to start shaving again!

[She grins a little and winks. Just teasing! Probably. ...He does need to shave, though.]
