Mikaela Banes

[ Tracking down who David, just David was had been hard enough, where he lived even harder, and none of that had helped Mikaela in figuring out what to give her mysterious Secret Santa recipient.

So what she does in the end is leave a box filled with various sorts of unusual chocolates and candies she had found in Genessia and Nova City, including some alien candies and even vegetable-shaped chocolate. The crowning feature, though, the one she is truly proud of, is the 2 lb giant gummy bear. A true work of art, she can only hope that David has a sweet tooth. It's all wrapped nicely in wrapping paper sporting yellow cars.

With the gift comes a card showing a cheesy Fayren winter painting, complete with fairies dancing in the snow. ]

Happy Holidays! (Or just happy day off from work, whatever applies.)

I hope you like sweets and weird things.

[ When the feed turns on, it shows a very tall man, muscular, long hair half-tied back. He's rubbing the back of his head with a wince - maybe he hit his head on the way out of the cocoons?

There's a very large sword strapped across his back, but otherwise, he's dressed quite casually in black.

He smirks into the camera. ]

Interestin reading material you guys've got here. Pretty girl in that fancy projection, too. All in all? Not a bad introduction.

I'll play along for now.

...

... Once you're all done messing around, though, and have figured out a way back?

Let me know.

Jaune Arc

[Physical copies of this poster have been posted in every city except Attleton. ...Huh, how weird. While Jaune has taken Mercury's advice to lie low, he wants Emerald to win, so he risked taping them up elsewhere to try and spread her publicity. The image is also used on the front of pamphlets he made, with the inside of the pamphlet describing Emerald's objectives, some of her views, and an inspiring story so embellished he mostly made it up.]

Two smaller posters are also scattered through four of the five cities )

[Eventually, after agonizing about it, Jaune decides to make a video supporting Emerald Sustrai. He's even kind of dressed up, wearing a tie with his hoodie instead of just the hoodie.]

Uhm, hi. As Emerald's PR Manager, I'm here to talk about why I've chosen to support her in her campaign for Everglade Guardian. I know a lot of us here want to feel like we're safe. And we like to pretend things are okay.

But we aren't. And that's not easy to admit. We might have a lot of good things going on for us, but at what risk and cost? I've...I've personally experienced this myself, very recently. [His eyes dim, and he averts them for a moment, taking a breath and then staring back at the camera that much more determined.] It's good to do things that make us feel safe, but not if we're just ignoring the problem. Emerald's methods might be unconventional, but I truly believe that's why they'll work. Until we do something about the barrier at Everglade, we're just an open target who won't be ready or know when the next attack will happen. Because it's going to happen. Emerald has always been upfront and honest to me, even when I didn't want to hear it. And I'd rather someone who knows what they're doing, someone who doesn't sugarcoat things and tells it like it is, be Everglade's next guardian.

Because that's the kind of person that we need to make sure we don't keep repeating history.
