A C T I O N ;
Morning
((Warning she will be pickpocketing whoever replies to this one unless she recognizes them.))

[ Once she got out of that place, pocketed the money and gave the pamphlet a brief skim, Emerald was out of there. If you get brought some place strange, the best thing you can do is get away from wherever they left you. There was enough money there to take care of herself, which she found a little suspicious. Who was honestly that helpful? There was a reason people learned to steal and it wasn't because people helped those in need if it put them out in the slightest.

Oh well. She'd find some place to spend it and get it out of her pocket and get some money she felt a little more comfortable with-- the kind she appropriated all by herself. That said, she wasn't afraid to ask for help of a different kind.

After looking around for a bit, Emerald approached someone who didn't look particularly attentive. ]

[ She could blow the free money on a hotel stay and food, then pay for whatever she needed next with this poor sap. ]

That Evening

[ Once Emerald got a little more settled in-- meaning, she went and found a nice little motel room, got herself a map from some corner store, and a little extra spending money in case she needed it-- she decided to see about this whole social network. It was kind of weird to be using something other than her own scroll, but it worked well enough. ]

[ There was a brief wave of her hand. She doesn't know what's going on here and the best way to not make enemies is to not be a jackass ~~(Mercury)~~ so she's going to be playing nice and friendly for now. She does have a couple of questions though, the first of which involves her pendant, a shining green stone swaying and glittering in the room's light while she's holding it up to the video screen. ]

[ Not her real reason for asking, but hey. Better than wondering why the hell they're all being required to wear necklaces like tracking tags. ]

[Somehow she's not surprised to see Emerald end up here. If Mercury and Neo were here, it wouldn't take long for Emerald and Roman to join them.]

It was only a matter of time before you came here too.

Unfortunately I only got here a few days ago myself.

Cinder!

[ That perked her right up. Honestly, she'd been worried she'd be totally alone here. One of her favorite people was here though, and this just went straight from a crap situation to a moderately OK situation because of it. ]

Where are you staying? I thought I was here alone so I got a room already.

[Rikku's pendant was hidden underneath her scarf since it didn't really go with her outfit. It appears that Emerald was the only one filling her pockets. As long as Rikku wasn't in Everglade, Yuna never told her she couldn't. So when she spoke to her, she took the chance while she was distracted and maybbeeee grabbed some of her bills.]

Ah, well. You can get a motel or hotel room for the time being. You'll need to find yourself a job if you want anywhere more permanent though.

[Rikku, being a pickpocket herself, knew better than to carry large sums of bills on her. So she had the very bare minimal. Just enough to get some food. Luckily she hadn't pickpocketed from many people yet.]

Right now I'm staying in a hotel room with Mercury, but that's hardly a suitable living space. I don't plan to stay here long.

[ Well! Given how outnumbered he was on his first day here, things are honestly starting to look a bit better from the criminal perspective. The feed clicks on and Mercury's got his usual smirk in place, though his expression may be just a hair brighter than usual. It's been weeks since he's gotten to bug her, okay? ]

I didn't know you had such a passion for fashion.

[ If it wasn't one of the real people, she's pretty sure that makes it all the much safer to nab from them. Still, they all looked pretty realistic.. not that it would've stopped her from taking some of Rikku's right back. If they hadn't both just done it, neither of them probably would've ]

Where's the nearest one? I'll worry about where I'm going to sleep tomorrow night in a few days.

[ Of course, it's when Emerald went to put Rikku's bills with her own that she looked surprised for half a second. ]

Wha-- [ Uhg. She narrowed her eyes at Rikku and held her hand out. ]

My money, now.

I'm more worried about why they're insisting we wear these even when we aren't passing archways.

Cinder told me you were here. I'm guessing not long since she said you two were still holed up in a hotel room together.

[ Not fair. Then again she got her own bed this way, hotel rooms didn't tend to have three beds and she could see Mercury fighting her over who didn't have to sleep in the roll away if she tried. ]

You're welcome to come stay in mine if I've got a better room than Mercury.

[ She doesn't feel like fighting Mercury for the bed since Cinder would undoubtedly get her own or she would totally ask if she could come join them. ]

Where were you thinking of moving?

I'll keep that in mind.

[Of course, she would rather they were all together. Even she cares about people sometimes.]

That's uncertain for now, but I'll have to raise some money first.

[One of them has to after all.]

There's one in that direction.

[She pointed in the direction and then looked surprised when she addressed the bills.]

Only after you give mine back as well.

[So they were both in the same game here.... How did she manage to get Rikku's bills when she was used to this herself. Maybe Gippal was right? Maybe she was getting sloppy. No. She'll never let him know that he might have been right.]

How much do you think we'll need?

[ She can help, though she's sure Cinder could "find" some without much effort. ]

[ She wouldn't have brought it up and just kept her amount, but she's pretty sure her starter money was more than what she'd nabbed from the girl. ]

If you try to pocket some of mine when you hand them back, we're going to have a problem.

[ She held up the cash she'd taken from Rikku, halfway between them with her other hand held out. ]

At the same time, I don't think either of us want any trouble.

[ Well that wasn't true but the last thing Emerald needed was to be openly a wanted criminal on her first day. ]

I can't really say at the present time, but we'll have to do some... housing shopping.

[She's told you to keep your hands clean, but.... this is for the sake of a cushier living arrangement... She might let you do your thing.]

As long as you don't pocket mine in the return.

[She could respect another pickpocket somehow... So she handed her money back as well while taking her own back.]

Maybe we should just agree not to take stuff each other? I'd rather not deal with the trouble myself.

[ Yeah, now that she knows Cinder's here she'll limit her sticky fingers a little unless she's really itching for cash. She got enough to take care of the motel room and food for a little while anyway so it's not a big deal. ]

Which hotel are you two at right now? [ Even if she can't do anything to help yet since Cinder didn't say to, but she at least wants to know where her team is. ]

[Good. She's proud of you, Emerald, even if she doesn't show it.]

I think it was some motel/hotel called [Insert name here.]

Yeeeeeeeeeeeah I was a little wary of that myself. But the way I see it, they've already abducted us without warning and without resistance - I'm pretty sure they don't need some silly trinkets to keep tabs on us.

[ He folds his arms over his chest, letting himself speak seriously for once in his goddamn life. Business before pleasure. ]

Longer than her, anyway. Actually, it's been almost a month for me - there's some sort of issue with time between our home and here, but supposedly you can be here for ages and return back like not even a second passed without you.

[ He was probably right. She still didn't know what would happen if she didn't carry it with her though. Emerald held the pendant up and stared at it for a moment before paying attention to Mercury again. ]

You have a point. But what happens if we don't wear it?

[ Almost a month. She almost asks about it but he finishes explaining the time problems before she can even ask. ]

So you were stuck here by yourself for a whole month? [ Emerald almost feels bad about him being alone, but she knows Mercury can take care of himself. A month isn't that bad. ] It must have driven you up the wall to have to play nice with everyone all the time. [ She's assuming he wasn't stupid enough to go be himself with complete strangers if there was a chance Cinder would show up anyway. ]

[ Emerald didn't try anything while exchanging the money either, eying Rikku a little warily.. but also respecting the fact that she 1. Was pretty good at nabbing things and 2. Wasn't Roman Torchwick, so she was already more tolerable. ]

Fine, but only if you give me your name. If there's someone who can grab something off of me while I'm doing the same, I want to know that much.

[ Emerald would appreciate it a little more if she showed it. ]

I think I saw that on my way here, it's a few blocks away. I'm at [ another motel name, amazing. ]

[Putting her bills away once they'd successfully traded money back without incident, she gave her a grin.]

Fair enough. I can respect someone who can do the same. Maybe we could start over?

My name is Rikku, it's nice to meet someone else who has a clear talent.

[She can't make it that easy.]

Mind if I stop by?

[Of course you don't.]

Sure...

[ She put her bills away, this time making sure they were nice and deep and impossible to pull out without her feeling it. ]

Emerald. I'd appreciate it if you didn't share my "talents" with anyone else?

[ Being famous or infamous for that would be a decidedly bad thing. ]

Of course. What kind of thief would I be if I ratted out others like me? Just as long as you don't do the same.

I don't think my cousin would appreciate that, but it's nice to meet you, Emerald.

[ He shrugs one shoulder lazily. ] Is it really worth the risk of finding out?

[ His expression falls into a sullen frown at her mention of the time he was trapped here as the only member of his team - even with Adam there and Neo showing up shortly after, it's not like they were on the best of terms. ]

Not the whole month - Cinder's been here a little while now, but before that it was just Adam and Neo. I don't think they care for me much, though. [ A beat. ] I'm not sure a lot of people care for me much. I've kept my hands clean, but I may have ticked off one or two people. I call it unavoidable collateral damage.
