[Now that she had gotten use to things here and gotten use to actually using a video phone, Hikari turns it on and smiled. It's obvious the girl could be no more than eight years old.]

Hi. I've been here for at least a week or so now and well... Even staying at a hotel by myself still seems scary. [She knew she was meant to be somewhere else without other parents or any adults actually but she would of had her brother looking out for her. Here she was by herself and that was scary.]

Though is it okay for an eight year old to really live by themselves? People don't seem to bat much of an eyelid here or maybe I haven't noticed as much. [Then again she had little to no idea how to survive by herself. She knows parents work to earn money so maybe if she had to live on her own she could find something she could do. As to what that was she was clueless.]

I should introduce myself anyway. I'm Hikari Yagami, it's nice to meet you all.

[Jeb frowns as his big brother instinct goes off. He wouldn't want Faye or Elise staying at a hotel alone and they're teenagers, so a child her age doing it is...even more not good.]

I... arrived here alone, so I have no one to trust just yet. [She admitted though that she met people she would like to become friends with, but still...]

I've been here a week or so and I haven't seen or heard from anyone I know of. So, I have come to the conclusion I came by myself. I don't mind since everyone has something they need to do back home, but I would have liked to have been there.

[After all they found her just so she could help, but it seems that might have been in vain at least in her mind.]

"Hey, kid, good ta meet ya. You're not the only kid here, if that's any comfort," Betelgeuse told her. "I'm BJ. If you need help, there are guardians in the city. I've pretty much avoided 'em, being an upstanding citizen and all, but they might be able to get you set up somewhere."

[Not the only kid, she guessed that brought about some comfort, but not a whole lot.]

Guardians of the city? What are they exactly?

"Well, uh, y'know. They're guardians. They guard the different cities, keep order, beat up bad guys...at least I think. They gotta be able to help, though, or what good are they?"

Oh... I guess that seemed obvious. But I guess if they are there to help, then I should find the guardian of here. Do you know who that would be?

[Luke is a kid as well, but older--though not by too much. At thirteen, he's still mostly trying to pretend he knows how to make things work on his own.]

I'm Luke. I'm thirteen, but I've been doing all right. Sort of. It's not easy but...maybe I can help a little bit.

[Don't mention the light out in his kitchen for ages. After his fallout with Satsuki, he's been reserved and withdrawn, not watching out for calls or heading out much. The boy looks tired, but hopeful--he wants to help her, even though he's not in the best straits himself.]

You live by yourself at thirteen... I guess that means you didn't know anyone when you arrived as well then? [So it seemed normal for young people to live by themselves. But she didn't know how to, her mother did the housework after all except when they had to do an odd chore or two. She guessed she could use that experience if she had to.]

Mm-mm...nobody I know from home is here.

[And he does look rather sad about it, though he doesn't offer the information. Of course he'd be homesick.]

Though for starters, you can't live in the hotel forever. It will get too expensive really fast. My building has lots of little flats, if you'd like. Then you'd be close to here, and it's small and easy to take care of. And you'll know someone nearby if you need help, too!

[He smiles widely.] My flat doesn't have a bedroom so I don't think it'd be good to share, but otherwise it's nice.

I guess finding a place to live would be cheaper. But if it okay to ask where exactly you live?

I've been keeping to myself, so it would be understandable that no one would have noticed. [After all she needed to accept the fact she wasn't where she was suppose to be. Giving a small bow she was going to be polite.]

[ Ishtar wouldn't have an issue taking her in if she allowed it, however. Ishtar seemed to have a knack for adopting a lot of people. She also lived in a large place, but right now she didn't want to frighten someone she didn't know too well yet. ]

Please do. I don't mind running out to help anyone, even if it's really late. It may sound weird since we've just met but I'm willing to offer you another place where I live since it's pretty big and you won't have to be alone. It's kind of sad sometimes being on your own and definitely scary.

Considering where I was meant to be I wouldn't have any parents around learning how to cope here might be a good idea. But I'll always remember should my being independent not go so well.

If you're not on the streets, you're fine. Just be careful about ordering room service. The prices for that are criminal.
