A. TEXT; OPEN
It looks like whoever was restocking that awful flyer that said "DON'T PANIC" at the exit decided to stop, so I think it's time to put a new source of information in. I have no problem creating one and I think I have the skills to pull it off. I have a list of things I'd like to include in it, but I recognize that I'm capable of being fallible.

What, besides what is included in the attached list, would you have liked to have had access to when you first arrived?

If you want your restaurant or motel/hotel listed, please let me know and I will put it into the brochure provided you keep it up to code. I will inspect them before I add them to the brochure so I know I'm not sending anyone to a complete dive. I'm also considering a holographic message instead of a brochure so that there's the audio and visual components for those who may read different languages or can't read. All of our speech gets translated though, so that should help along with a printed map.

B. ACTION IN FAYREN OR VALE; OPEN

[ Later that day, Weiss could be found making her way through Fayren. It wasn't to find Zuko, though, but she had some business in Vale. That meant passing through and trying not to run into her boyfriend, as much as she would have enjoyed that, on account of the fact that she definitely tended to get distracted around him.

Besides, truth be told? Weiss had been thinking about things a lot lately. Being alone wasn't something she preferred- or even liked as much as she wouldn't care to admit- but right now she needed to think. A trip to Vale would help her get a lot of things done, anyway. Like restocking on Dust, looking for some kind of portable holographic device that she could actually afford since it was in the subarchway that her bank accounts lived, and then potentially going and fighting some Grimm near the edge of Forever Fall.

Either way, Weiss approached the edge of Fayren near the subarchway's entrance, briefly checking the time on her device before pulling out her pendant to make sure it was with her. Check and check. ]

Not all humans are the same. I'm very upfront about the things that I like and enjoy. I'm not going to say that violence altogether doesn't have its perks, but killing other humans? That's not acceptable.

what about sport

[ Sport's a little.. different in her world. So her understanding of it is a little different. ]

There are some people who hunt the Grimm for sport, but considering that their bodies dissolve rapidly after death they can't actually keep trophies. It's mostly laughable and accomplishes the same thing that a huntsman or huntress does to keep humans safe, so it doesn't make any difference in impact.

Also, before you ask, other sport amongst humans themselves is tournament style and is considered finished when the person's aura bar reaches red or the person is unconscious, which still means that the fighters' aura is in fact so despite that we do fight for sport in that sense, we don't actually shed blood.

That doesn't make murder any more entertaining amongst the majority of people that aren't crazy, so I find your argument invalid.

'sane' is a pretty subjective term

Yes, there are plenty of people who are sane. I would know. The creatures of Grimm in our world are attracted to negative emotions. An unhealthy mind would be Grimm bait and no one would be capable of being a hunter or huntress if what you said was true.

[Weiss might be able to spot a very familiar Faunus as he was kneeling down and checking through the things he had in a bag in front of him. He'd already made his trip to Vale to restock his dust shotgun shells, as well as pick up some ice shotgun shells from a guy that he had making them in Vale.]

I think that is everything.. [His tail swayed a little as he wondered if he should have picked up a bit more ammo than he actually did.]

[ Wow Sun. At least wait until you get home... Weiss goes to peek over his shoulder to see what all he got, not speaking up until she's gotten a good look. ]

Did you just finish?

[He looks up when he hears the sudden familiar voice, then he looks over his shoulder to her.]

Been picking up some stealth skills from Blake? I didn't even hear you come up.

[But to answer her question.]

But yeah. I'm not running low, but I never like to get to a point where I am.

Shouldn't you just be paying more attention if you're toting ammo?

[ It was probably more that no one expected Weiss to be quiet in the history of ever, so when she actually was it was surprising. ]

I was going to use most of what I have left in the forest and buy some more, if you wanted to come.

Well I wasn't toting it around at this exact moment. I was just looking at it. [That doesn't excuse his guard for being down, though.. And no one ever really expects a silent Weiss. She always has so much to say or yell.]

Which forest? The one here on Forever Fall?

In public with your guard down. [ With Roman Torchwick on the loose no less. Tsk, tsk... Silent Weiss is a rare occurrence though, so he's not wrong not to expect her. ]

Forever Fall. It's been a while since I fought any Grimm.

[ It might have been a while since she's felt like she's done much of anything beyond plan parties that she would've done back home, too. ]

Like you don't let yours down in public. [Or around Zuko. Basically he's saying that they are all guilty of it.] But fine fine. I won't do it again.

I could go for a rumble with some Grimm. [It's been a while since he's fought any too.]

Not when I'm alone. It isn't like I haven't been attacked on the street while alone before.

[ Granted, that was still Zuko, though she hadn't known it at the time. But still! ]

Do you have a place to put everything you just bought? [ Sun's shirt doesn't even cover his chest, she's not sure where he keeps anything besides his weapon. ]

Same for me, really. But never here in Fayren. [He stands up straight and lifts up his bag.]

Yeah. I've got a place here in Fayren that's like..an office. It's attached to another store, but the woman that owns the store is letting me use it in exchange for getting her things from the forest a few times a month.

I think there's good reason for that.

[ Even Sun has an office and Weiss is stuck in a back room that smells like melted cheese and tomato sauce all day. Something she's been growing increasingly bitter about since Satsuki, then Neptune pointed out that she wasn't exactly living up to their expectations. She gives him a look for a moment, but doesn't comment on it, instead electing to just ask something else. ]

Do you want me to come or should we just meet somewhere?

[He's been working this job longer than you've worked your, Weiss. And it's mostly just a place for people to bring him work or find him if they want to hire him on to go into the forest for them.]

You can come along if you want to. It's not like I'm trying to hide it from anyone.

[ Time matters less to her than the fact that he has a real office and she does not. She's Weiss Schnee and that has to mean something. She just isn't exactly sure what it means in Genessia, without any of her motivations existing here and people starting to ask why she isn't doing better than she is. Which means Sun is probably slightly unfortunate in that she's actually mildly upset by this.. but at least she knows it's not his fault at all, which is why she's keeping quiet about it. ]

Lead the way.

[He nods and does so, starting down a path off to the side. He had been planning to go to his office anyway to drop off some ammo, just so he would have some stored her. He didn't want to have to always make a trip back to Genessia City every time that he wanted to pick up some of his ammo.]

So what made you want to fight Grimm? Or are you just having a slow day and want to fill it with something?

I haven't actually had anything to fight that wasn't someone I know, for one thing. The other...

[ Her voice tapers off at a higher pitch as she considers whether to say anything or not. ] Let's just say, when we do go? I'll probably be pulling a higher number than I normally would.

Funny that all the skills we have are for fighting Grimm, but rarely if ever in the last year have they been used for that. [He's fought monsters and other manner of beasts, just not Grimm.]

I think the Grimm will cower in fear of us when we hunt them today.

I'm glad this world doesn't have to deal with the Grimm problem, but at certain times I'd rather fight them.

[ Possibly the weirdest way to be homesick. ]

I hope you're right. [ She doubts they'll actually cower, but it'd be a sight to see. ]

Yeah, but places like Fayren do have their own type of monsters that they have to deal with. [They come up to Sun's office. It's attached to an apothecary shop. He unlocks the door and opens it up. The place isn't completely furnished, mostly because Sun can't be bothered to do it.

There is a desk, and in front of the desk is a chair for his clients. There is a couch against one of the walls near by the door and a coffee tables in front of it. Off to the corner is a big wooden cabinet where he stores his ammo, changes of clothes and other things.

Behind his desk on the wall is two things. One, a list of current jobs that he needs to complete in the days to come. And two, next to that, is a collage of pictures. Just his team and friends and such, sights that he had seen when he explored the forest or when he was in other worlds (the view from the top of Tokyo tower is there) just most anything that he has encountered in his adventures. On his desk are pictures of Blake. His favorite and the one he looks at the most is the picture he took of her on their date.

He moves over to his cabinet and starts to pack his stuff away.]

I know. I'm dating the Deputy Guardian, remember? It isn't like I never set foot here. Plus, if you'll remember, Team RWBY did take care of a pack of trolls in Fayren once.

[ Weiss looks around his office, the pictures catching her eyes more than anything. She doesn't really have a lot of pictures- not like that anyway. It wasn't as though she wouldn't appreciate them, she just hadn't considered taking a bunch of them and hanging them up. Most of hers were on her scroll, not a place she saw them frequently unless she went looking for a specific one. There were far fewer of her friends and team than there were of her practicing different moves so she could watch herself do them and learn from it. She had always been a very goal-oriented and organized person, so seeing that collage at his work of all places was interesting to her. ]

Do you have one of these at home or just at work?

[He looks over to her and then looks to where she is looking. A lot of the images came from his own scroll, which was why he could have a picture of his whole team up there. Sadly they all weren't here with them right now.] A smaller one, yeah. It's a good way to remember the fun that I've had with you all. And some of my own solo adventures.

[Some trips into the forest could be full, but some could also be pretty darn eventful. He's had to outrun his share of dangerous creatures in there.]

Why do you ask?

I was curious. Most of my pictures are of Frost.

[ Not that she even needs them any more than she would pictures of anyone else here. Weiss looks at his pictures for another moment, then quickly turns to him with a stern look. ]

I'm going to ask you something and you can't tell anyone, but you've been here longer than I have and so I think your advice might be valuable.

I'm not really surprised about the pictures of Frost. [Something tells him she has Frost in different outfits or something in those pictures.]

Uh, okay? Fire away. I can keep a secret. [Mostly. He only let Blake's secret slip to Neptune by mistake.]

[ Some of them. Honestly, the only reason they didn't see Frost in a little Christmas outfit at the party was because he started getting nervous because of how many people there were so Weiss put him upstairs.

But she totally has photos of that, so that's all that matters. ]

I've spent so long trying not to get attached to this place because I've been telling myself it's a temporary situation and almost everyone I know has either disappeared or lost their memories since I've been here. It's even happened to me, apparently. Frankly, it's been keeping me from doing anything other than staying at that awful pizza place I don't even like and even Neptune said that I wasn't.. He said it was surprising considering who I am.

[ Weiss stays silent for a couple of moments, turning away from the picture board to look around Sun's office as she tries to figure out how to phrase this without opening up to Sun too much. She would talk to her team, but she's pretty sure that none of them are even at the stage of understanding what it's like not to consider this a temporary situation besides her. She turns back to him, gesturing to emphasize her point as she looks him in the eye. ]

He's not the only one who thinks that, but I don't think I've wanted to commit to anything because I've been expecting it to be temporary and not to matter. Recently I've started to think that I don't want it to be temporary though. I don't want to lose Zuko, and I don't want to keep being just the Deputy Guardian's girlfriend who isn't living up to my own name. Frankly it's insulting that he keeps trying to sneak me money like he thinks I don't keep track of my own budget well enough to notice, too, but that's another matter entirely. My point is.. How do you talk yourself into committing to anything when you know that tomorrow, everything you care about here might be forgotten- either by you or.. someone you care about?

[Sun could point out that she tried to slip Zuko money in the past, but he’s sure she is well aware of that.]

It’s hard, Weiss. And it’s scary too. I’ve seen a lot of people from our world arrive in and leave this place. You, Blake, Ruby, all of JNPR. I know I could leave any day. Heck, I could be sent back home seconds from now. And the thought is scary. I don’t want to forget the friends that I’ve made, the friendship me and you have built up, my relationship with Blake, none of it. I don’t want any of you to forget it either. [Even during Weiss’ first time here, she and Sun weren’t good friends. At least not good enough that she would even talk to him about something like this.]

But there is honestly nothing we can do about that. That fear is going to stick with you because it sticks with even me. But you can’t let it stop you from doing what you want to do. Like with Blake, I know that either of us could forget one another. But the happiness that I feel with her? The warm fuzzy feeling I get when she says she loves me? It makes it worth feeling that fear, at least for me.

Yeah, it’s going to hurt badly if she..leaves again. But I can’t turn off how I feel about her. You have drive, and ambition and you’re smarter than probably all of us. You can’t turn that off. I don’t know, maybe it’s built into the Schnee gene to be the best and have the most money.

We’ve both been in this place for a while now, Weiss. For all we know, we could be stuck here three or four more years, if not longer. It could even be forever. There is no real way to telling if this will actually be temporary or not for us. So if you want something more, then go for it. Otherwise you will just end up with regrets over missed opportunities or wasted time if you miss your chance for something.

[ Most of that makes sense to her. Weiss takes it all in, thinking about it silently while he speaks. She stays quiet for a few moments after he finishes talking. It wasn't really comforting, but she hadn't expected comfort. He told her that she needed to get her stuff together and just deal with the fear and try not to let it overwhelm her, which was something part of her knew. Weiss didn't argue, nodding for a brief moment before what seemed like it might be a continued silence until her voice spoke up. ]

Blake will always at least know who you are, and she went to the dance with you even back in our world. If Zuko or I forget, I lose him forever.

[ The longer this lasted the deeper that fear got. The rest of it was a stagnant fear, something that would remain and stay about the same as an anxiety, but the idea of Zuko being there and not even knowing who she was was on a different level. Everything else made sense the way that Sun said it, but not that. ]

It's the same thing as one of us dying, which would've been a possibility even back home, and I keep telling myself that, but... [ She pauses, looking over at Sun's pictures again. ] The idea of him showing up here again like the rest of my team have and not even recognizing me makes it really hard to think about wanting to put myself into anything else I might care about.
